Stanley 18mm Knife and 5m Tape Combo $8 @ Bunnings

180

Just purchased from Bunnings, thought it was a decent price for a sturdy tape and knife kit.

Great for the odd jobs around the house or cheap gift.

Not sure if Australia wide but have seen in multiple WA stores.

  • Do you have a photo of the actual set? Is this the knife: https://www.bunnings.com.au/stanley-18mm-dynagrip-snap-blade…

    • Updated the picture, not that knife though but pretty similar.

If it was Australia wide, it'd have to be nearly 4000km long!
I'd like to see that tape measure!

A deal that both measures up and cuts to the bone.

Looks like Bunnings is really slashing their prices.

Not the pack I was after - thought it was the knife and duct tape combo. Oh well…

  • That's a decent price for a combo kit. Personally, I don't believe in paying much more than about $10 for a tape, but a good 'Stan' knife is worth it's weight in gold, and I reckon the larger stainless, it has a wheel on the side and you can open it to store more razors, is the way to go. But for $8, you can't really go wrong.

You've probably never used a decent tape measure to appreciate the difference.

Stanley FatMax tape measure, wide blade so it doesn't buckle and bend and can be easily used by one person for long distances.

You can get them for about $20, worth every penny.

      • Looks like $27 for a FatMax @ Bunnings. https://www.bunnings.com.au/stanley-fatmax-8m-tape-measure_p…

Yeah, I've used expensive tape measures and I still don't think their worth the money. I.E; Lufkin.

Each to their own. If you can afford to spend the money on tape measures then go bananas, but I'd prefer put the difference towards better drill bits and such.

Yeah, that's the normal price but they sometimes go on special.

I got mine for $20, but even at $27 i think it's worth it.

I can measure long distances on my own without the tape kinking and bending.

        • @Scab:

I can't deny, having a tape where you can stretch over a long distance is worth its weight in gold, fair point.

  • this is where click n collect would be good ….. buy it and next time i'm at bunnings pick it up instead of hoping for stock on this sort of stuff.
