  • ooo bookmarked!

  • awesome!

    • still trying to find the cheap flights with 13 mins left on lunch! oh no

      ouch! it was 5000 yen but now gone!

  • I got return tix from KL to Japan for $136 inc baggage.

    My itinerary PDF is a little borked though. Seems like it didn't populate the fields right. Doesnt list the pre-purchase baggage under 'Inflight Services' and no info other than the HND Airport Code.

    • You can usually log on to the air asia site and either print a new one or get a new one emailed to you. It's been a while since Ive been on there so I can't remember.

  • bugger, I just missed out one of the uber low fares from KL to Tokyo, goes from 90RM to 324RM as standard. still cheap though.

  • KL -> Tokyo Haneda = 99 RM
    Tokyo Haneda -> KL = 312 RM

    Total = 411 RM Return ?

  • do u need your passport info to book? my passport's expired

      not required.

  • "Fares and flights shown on our website are subject to government approval, all funds charged for flights will be quarantined pending Japanese government approval."

    erm.. sounds dodgy to me. they hold your $ until one day Japanese government approval fails, your flight is cancelled.

    • Paris Hilton :)

    • Just about every airline that has sold tickets before launch has that warning. Nothing 'dodgy' about it, its just a standard disclaimer.

  • Can't find flights that cheap anymore? Is it all booked out?

    • Yes I believe all the cheapest category airfares are sold.

  • Just got text message from Air Asia last night, saying "Your flight has been cancelled, because we haven't received the Airbus plane yet until now" What the ???

  • Warning: When you find a flight of your liking, go through the booking process as fast as you can. Your booking is not finalise until you get the booking code. AirAsia sold my seats to someone else while I was entering my Credit Card details. :(

    A tip for booking with AirAsia is to use their mobile site: http://m.airasia.com/

    It works fine with chrome at least and fair quicker than the normal site, I think it also asks for less information so you can book quickly.

    • This is a good tip. It's what I do and Air Asia often recommend it.

  • I'm looking at travelling to South East Asia at the end of the year.
    In this post's description, you mentioned a "Melb (or other Aust city) to KL fare of around $250-$450".
    The cheapest I can find is $800! Am I missing something here?

    I was hoping booking two separate flights might be the cheaper way to do it (Melbourne > KL > Bangkok).
    Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    And yes I think it's still on topic..although I'm not going to Japan :P

      There are cheap fares from around Mid Jan from Mel to KL, And from after Feb into april there is another lot of cheap airfares. Other periods are 'peak, ie, holidays and Chinese new years so not always the cheapest available, maybe $400-$500 return.

      Have you used Airasiaplus.com to check out dates broadly and quicker?

      • Oh wow, that site is great! So much easier to get an idea of prices..thanks for that :)

        I'll look into Jetstar and compare prices, comfort and service don't really bother me.

        Even then, I can't see anything near the $400-500 mark =/
        But wait a moment. Are those prices return?

        I don't really know how it works, but I'm assuming the prices quoted are each way - so it would be $700 x 2 for a return flight.

  • Well for example I leave Jan 27th for $56 oneway Mel to KL. then return, then return march 7th, which looks to be around $300. so thats under $400.

    Adioso.com is another great site to use.

    • What! $56 to KL?! How are you getting these prices, I'm so lost :x
      I even looked up that specific date and it's over $300…

      head explodes

  • It was never possible to get KL to Japan for under $100.

    • Yes it was
