It comes with a map for all the deserted parks in your state

  • The duct tape works wonders on my figure … much better than spanx.

    • +5

And no need to wax separately afterwards either :-)

    • +1

or you strap bags of white powder on you using duct tape.

  • +1

Is this cheap good tape, or low price bad tape? I've had my fill of bad tape. It's more trouble than it's worth.

    • The Duct Tape is cheap and good IMHO, sticks very well (sometimes too well) is easy to tear off and use, many uses for it.

    • Also much easier to rip by hand than other duct tape as well.

    • Quality is awesome, very sticky! Just note that there's not a lot on each roll, so buy a few and use wisely.

    • If it's anything like that double-sided tape they sell, it'll be pretty good.

  • +1

This is very sticky stuff. The Mrs uses it for waxing…

      • +2

Just don't put it over the mouth, stuff a rag, sock, undies in first :0

    • They havent tested these yet

    • +3

If you duct tape yourself to one of their taps then very likely!

  • +16

Any deals on shovels and bags of lime? Asking for a friend.

    • Hatchets and shovels will be on special later.

    • It's also suspicious that this deal popped up soon after the lockpick set.

      • its part of the kidnapping starter kit.

  • +1

I bought some last year .Used it on seams of over lapping sarking .When I came into work next day [it was during summer and hot]it had all peeled off and laying on the floor :-(

    • +2

it had all peeled off and laying on the floor

What was laying on the floor mate?

      • +2

        The Tape….

  • +1

Bought 2 bags of the cable ties last time,be aware it contains mainly the really small ones, 320pc: 100mm x 2.5mm.

    • The site says
      320pc: 100mm x 2.5m
      Not so small 😋

  • +11

$2.99 for an engineering degree is a bargain!

    • +5

      Half a degree.

      Find a wd-40 bargain then you're set!

  • +1

Hehe, duct tape could have a lot of fun with this :P

    • How do they wee?

  • +1

Oh nice, I was needing to refresh supplies in my involuntary friend catching kit

  • +1

If you can't fix it using duct tape and cable ties. You're not using enough duct tape and cable ties.

    • Ok, how would you fix… Erectile dysfunction lol.

      • A few larger cable ties as splints, wrapped in a layer of duct tape. I'm wasted as an engineer, should have been a doctor!

      • +3

Get a partner who likes tape and cable ties

  • -2

Will this tape work on nagging women?

    • +3

You might find that they have bought the cable ties. For you.

  • Bought some Aldi duct tape before. Worst quality I have ever got. Does not stick if temperature is a bit high. The base fabrics is thin and fragile as paper. Avoid it.

  • +2

Silence may be golden, but duck tape is silver!

    • +1

      Quack!

      • BOOM! BOOM! quick, someone get the Duct Tape

  • Perfect for those steamy nights on a budget. Thanks OP

    • fifty shades of kinky.

  • +1

We should rename 15th July as National Macgyver Day! Now just need a piece of bamboo, a paper clip, and some conveniently placed sugar & potassium nitrate to build a rocket to get us out of any tricky situation!

  • I was looking for some of these, just need some gloves and eclectic wire

  • +11

    500 pack cable ties $4.99
I think you meant to say toolkit (500 pcs) $4.99

    • -1

      SCA Toolkit* :P

  • +2

It's funny, well actually in most of the instances I've experienced, less so, the amount of times that I've scoffed at these cable tie deals, only to later be in a position where I was in need a cable tie. Realistically though, if pressed right now to detail a job that I might need one I'd be at a loss. I think it may akin to drill bits.

Cheers for the info on the deal OP :)

    Edit; my dodgy wordy bits.

    • +1

But when you have a handy set, the question will become 'where is that set of ties' [buried or otherwise lost months ago] or worse, where is a cable 4" tie [forgot you had a set with them in it] or find the set and then notice not one is large enough…

You better buy 3 sets so they are harder to lose and you have every conceivable size, only that will satisfy your true desires.

      • +1

Add tape measures and Stanley knives to that list. :-/

        • Yep. I've got four tapes of varying sizes and blow me down if when I actually need one the only that can be located is the el' Cheapo comp'd Bunnings one, and the two Stanleys likewise oft remain hidden, usually until one of two things has occurred, either I've spent an inordinately long period of time looking for the Stanley, which of course is directly proportion to the length of time the job would have taken (shorter jobs = longer searching times), or, I've used a chisel instead.

      • You can join them together if they're not long enough! I think 4 is my record.

      • Ah, so very true.

I periodically clean up my shed, though it only remains in that condition for a short splendid time, thereafter returning to a shambles of varying degrees.

Getting multiple packs does seem logical and I'm also keen on those VDE screwdrivers.

  • Came here for the jokes

    • The jokes are pretty terrible imo.

Next thing we know ozbargain will be in ACA.
      Imagine the headlines

  • Great post - was after a lot of these.

Anyone have any deals on chainsaws and hockey masks?

  • +1

Are you sure this ain't a police sting? Anyone waking out with bunch of tape/ties will be arrested and their house searched.

  • +2

    • $3.83 black from Bunnings
    • $4.50 silver from Kmart
    • $3.83 silver from Bunnings
    • $9.39 silver 4 pack from Bunnings <— best value only 15m

PS is there a way to ozbargain-undo a cable tie without cutting it up of course? Edit: logic works

    • You can get reusable ones already - https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?q=Releasable%20C…, also Officeworks, Jaycar etc.

      Better picture here: https://www.bjenterprises.com.au/products/reusable-cable-tie…

I'm not sure why these are more common or known about, they've been around for years.

      • those are rort when you can re-use the normal ones anyway with a bit of effort.

        • Rort? Yeah, good one from someone posting Bunnings links. lol.

Anyway, you can get them cheaper than that, and some of us are effort challenged and can't be stuffed trying to jam a knife or screwdriver down there (which i guess is what your YouTube links showed).

Anyway, just cut them off like everyone else does, they're cheap.

Have you come across the velcro ones yet?

        • @D C: Single use ties might be 3% cheaper, but a few hours on the wrists; a lifetime in our tips!

        • @zerovelocity: Tip, schmip.

As if we're going to take the time to tidy up nicely after cutting them off.

Got better things to be doing, like running away!

    • Aldi duct tape is 50mm x 50m btw.

  • +1
  • Ah yes, excellent deal for the weekend engineer and/or kidnapping enthusiast.

  • +2

    Taps! I need more taps!
but this time without the LEAD poison (yet to be proven to be fair). I bought 3 at 79.95
    http://www.smh.com.au/business/consumer-affairs/aldi-tap-fou…

    • You can get steel cable ties. They might have lead in them if that's your thing.

  • is this a 'picking up hitchhikers' special?

  • It's not 500 cable ties. It's a 500 piece tool kit.

  • +1

Does it come with 15% more lead?

    • That'd be addictive. As if anyone would sell such a thing!

  • Don't also forget the lotion and hose. "It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again"

  • This deal gets two thumbs up in the Fritzl household.
