    As best I can tell this is the streaming app compatibility on this box:

    Netflix - yes
    Netflix in 4K - yes
    Stan - yes
    Stan in 4K - no
    Prime Video? - no
    prime in 4k? - no

    The one that can do better than this at the moment is the Shield, although it is missing Stan in 4K and costs significantly more.

    I bought one of these last time. It'll take a good 1-2 months to arrive and you'll need a power adapter, but it should work fine.

    I don't use mine though, this has reminded me to eBay it tonight :)

      perhaps a 2.4 vs 5 thing? Although the box is meant to have both. If you're phone has enough data allowance, connect via phone, perform the update (About>>update) which may fix the issue. Failing that it's probably hardware related to back it goes.

          You'll have varying levels of success with Pluto, SPB, Mobdro(not on play) depending on your internet speed and alignment of stars. It's not unique to Mibox though. Same with other Android devices.

    Coupons for Mibox are back again but only for EU plug… and I need the US plug don't want an additional plugs in between. For Australia the US plug is the best way to go.

    Got my Mi Box the other day, and really digging it. After having used a playstation 3 (and later, a PS4) as a media centre for the past 4 years or so, it's nice to have a snappy box that does the job much better.

    Only gripe so far (which not the Mi Box's fault) is that autoplay cannot be disabled in the Youtube app.

    Anyone who is wondering - this thing is badass. I replaced my trusty WDTV going solid for years with this. Didnt upgrade prior as nothing matched the capability.

    This thing spits out full lossless TrueHD / DTS-HD MA over HDMI and plays 40GB+ bluray backups flawlessly.

    Kodi works perfectly. Netflix works perfectly. Youtube works perfectly. The remote is done well

    Casting works better on this than the chromecast 2. The AC Wifi is solid.

    If I can find a good SMB server android tv app on this, it will be complete.

      Is it playing the blue ray files from USB or wifi stream from your computer?
      Is it an app like VLC that decides the files or is it the box's own software?

      My tvs own decoding for downloaded files sucks so I need a box that I can plug a USB into and have it output via hdmi

        Both, usb hdd and wifi from computer and usb hdd plugged into wdtv broadcasting it on the network as a pseudo-nas

        Kodi works great for playback, VLC also, but its crap compared to kodi

      Thays because it's not the same app store you'll find in your phone but a specific one with apps made to work with the Android TV interface. You'll need to side load other apps you'll want

    Id like to add here a feedback from my 9 Xiami mi boxes I got 2 for my place at the start in the price of $99 from ebay.
    They are the best boxes right now at this price, no matter if you find other ones with same specs and better in lower price and they are some off brand they wont last neitehr will perform that smooth.
    I ve been through many this has been the best and now im setting up the 9th unit with the well known Kodi app for another friend and still down to 9 boxes not one had a problem 6 months now.
    Definitely worth the money!
