    Hey rep, I have been buying the bulbs for my new place, i set it up at my old one and everything was good, but now at my new place I try to set it up again (reset the bulb a few times) but the connection always times out at 99%. I've tried Singapore and China servers. Can you assist :(

      Set to Mainland China, the Singapore server didn't work for me. Also they must be on the same wifi network.

        Yup, I've brought the lamps to the new place and even though they were set up on my other router they still work fine (they were set up in the singapore region) but I just cant get the bulbs to work. And I am worried about resetting my lamps now as well to China if its not going to be able to be reconnected to my new router

          Singapore didn't work at all for me so that may have just been an issue they've fixed.

          Does the new place have an internet connection? I think you need one to set them up. If you can set them up at your old place do that and take that same router with you to the new house and it should all work.

          The Yeelight forums are quite active, and will chat in English, so if you're still having issues they may be able to provide better help than GB.

          @Rutger: yes, I have internet but using a different router now, weird that the lamps still work. However when I first moved in, I set up another bulb in the study (that I also previously tested in my other place) and it made reconnection, but not this one. I accidentally deleted it though when I was setting them up again because I didnt think there was going to be an issue T_T

          Edit : I just tried to reconnect the study bulb and connection worked! So it's not my ISP blocking it or anything, it's just that particular bulb not working.. Wonder if the reset is a hard reset…

          @kza2610: May only support 2.4GHz Wifi. Turn off the 5G radio at the router to test. This is just my guess.

          @kza2610: yeah if changing routers then a hard reset is best. If you'd jept your routers ssid & pw the same they would have just worked.

          @supabrudda: I have reset the bulb by turning on and off 5x. That particular bulb always has the connection time out error, but another one I just did last night was fine. Maybe the chip for that one has a problem. I will try the hotspot way tonight using current router name and old router name and hope for better luck.

          @k0ka2: yep, I never use the 5g network. A lot of the troubleshoot says to try pinging the website etc but i dont know what that means .__. Also cant get into my router now as my macbook doesnt have an ethernet port gah.

          @kza2610: oh if its always having connection issues at the old house it might be a faulty bulb.

          What I do is have a lamp in the same room as the router, set it up there & then move it. That way I can tell if its a bulb issue or a wifi signal issue.

          @kza2610: In windows open command prompt as administrator (right click) and type
          ping ot.io.mi.com

          0% loss is what you want. If it's 100% then try setting your DNS in the router to 8.8.8.8 which is a google DNS server, reset the bulb then try again.

          If your ISP has unmetered content and you do this it will most likely become metered so change it back to blank/auto-assigned afterwards.

          If android then use something like this to do it.

          If you're using an iOS device you should be able to find such an app but it would also be worth trying to do this on an android device.

          I'd also check what channel the wifi network is on and try different ones. If one works then the other should, as I'm not aware of any firmware revision, but it's worth trying as different countries have different channels available for wifi use.

          @supabrudda: ah. It's definitely just that bulb that has an issue. I just reset 3 other bulbs perfectly fine. I brought faulty back to old place and it connected. So it's definitely that the 'hard reset' is not resetting all the way..

        It depends where you setup your Mi a/c.
        I've got my main a/c in China (since most of my Xiaomi products are only for China) & I've got one light setup there (do I can use the Mi Home app).

        So I could use IFTTT + G.home I created a MI Singapore a/c and connected another light to that.

      I bought 1 like this from bunning for a much higher price and it sucks. I left it out in the backyard for a whole night and could not kill even 1 mos. Don't waste your money.

      I use adapters from ikea. they incorporate a few safety features that some of the cheap imports are missing and are Australian approved. from memory they're called 'koppla'

          That's it. Just be aware that they add height and like all B-fittings wobble a bit side to side. The length has been my main problem, because the yeelight bulbs are quite long/tall (depending how you look at them), which can be an issue if the light fitting or lamp shade gets in the way.

      Probably a bit late for a reply now but for anyone with the same question.
      Ive purchased 3 times so far this year from GB and each time chosen Australia Express.
      The tracking numbers provided each time have been correct and worked on trackitonline. GB have despatched within a few days of my order. The orders have arrived to me in roughly 2 weeks with the biggest delays have been when Australia Post gets the items then hold them for a week+ in the Sunshine mail centre.
