  • It says "Not to be combined with any other offer." in the T&C's, so are you sure that price is achievable?

    • +1

The 5% off voucher did not state the console in its exclusions list. Maybe call them/ask tomorrow to double-check?

    • Worked for me in store

  • Any way to still get the 5% voucher?

    • Sign up to their newsletter (with your disposable email). Not sure how long it takes to receive, but it should be before opening tomorrow.

      • +2

I signed up about 2 hours ago and received the coupon instantly.

  • +2

Would jump on it if they had splatoon out and on that list. Arms doesn't do it for me, and Mario Kart isn't different enough from the wii u for me to want it … and just dance - please.

    • Unfortunately splatoon launches on the 21st, one may have thought we would get bundles but Nintendo in their wisdom did not ship these to the west. Im hoping the Odyssey bundle gets made (as in they make one), I keep uhmin and ahhing at these bundles but at this price (Compare to kogans 373 + game for $68 or so, it comes damn close), so I am seriously tempted now….

      • +3

It's only a few bucks difference. Just get it you tightarse!

        • I'll wear "label" that proudly here. The prospect of an Odyssey bundle also is lurking in the back of my head. :D frak it, ill go in tomorrow if the 5% off applies ill be coming home with MK and the Wi..er Switch…

  • +1

Interestingly the email actually shows a picture of Mario Odyssey instead of Mario Kart 8. Doubtful anything can be done about it, but I wouldn't mind Odyssey preordered :P

5% voucher works. Plus you can save more with discounted Ultimate Kids gift cards (around 10 - 14.5%) (ending today at Woolworths).

    • Can you explain how that deal works briefly?

      • Google JB Hi Fi subscription 5%, it should come up with their newsletter where you can enter your email. You'll get a discount code within a few minutes (make sure you check spam / promo boxes). Good deal! Just bought it myself with some discounted gift cards too.

        • oh that part I get, was just wondering about the Ultimate kids gift cards.

Had a bit of a read in another deal. Seems like you'll get your money back through Woolworths points from what I gather.

        • Oh and I think I can get straight 5% off for my gift cards. Same for you?

        • +1

@eviledward: Oh sorry, misunderstood, people below beat me to it! :)

      • +8
        1. Go to Woolies and buy $460 worth of Ultimate Kids giftcards at a discounted rate (only sold in $20 and $50 denominations I believe).
        2. Obtain 5% off voucher from email.
        3. Go to JB and buy the bundle with said giftcards and voucher.
      • +4

You get 1000 woolworths rewards points (worth $5) for every $50 Ultimate Kids gift cards. Every 2000 points deduct $10 in future shop at woolworths. You cam purchase these cards using wish egift cards (5% discounted). Sadly, the deal on UK gift cards ends today.

        • Ok thanks prince22, guess I won't be able to buy them online tonight and pick them up tomorrow when I go to JB in store?

        • Lol dude, the miser that I am I just went to the local woolies ( that closes at 12 tonight) and bought $250 worth on the way home. Should come in handy tomorrow!

  • +1

Yep, can confirm, 5% voucher works.

I was waiting for another sub $400 sale, but this works out pretty similar needing to buy MK8 on top (and those sales are hard to catch).

    Purchased, C&C :)

  • $463.6 is a pretty good price
With no waiting time from postage too
Cheapest MK8 was the last Target ebay offer $58.65

Bringing the cost to this offer
Making the console itself become ~$405 which is still a great deal

  • Anybody here think getting extended warranty in store is worth it? Or even trying to bargain with the guys at JB in store worth it?

    • I prefer to pay with credit card that comes with extended warranty
Since this 5% off is not a ebay (paypal) offer
the tax invoice amount matches to the credit card statement
so the CC extended warranty is entitled

I am paying using my Citibank Signature
the excess per claim is $100, not great but far better than Westpac CC ($250 excess)

    • Not much point to be honest. Nintendo hardware tends to be almost bulletproof and the extended warranty is probably not going to cover accidental damage anyway.

  • Cheaper than kogan deal?

    • +4

No, Kogan is cheaper but stock run out so quick
Kogan cheapest ever was $373 (console only)

    • -1

No, about $30 off if you include MK8 — probably the only game worth getting. If they had Zelda as part of the bundle it would be sweeter. In just after ^

      • +1

I have played 1-2 switch once and I think its a fun game in a party with friends
Can't compare the value to MK8 but not as bad as some reviews mentioned

  • +1

On jb Facebook page it said $469 with game yet the web site says $488. I wander if u screen dump the fb page advert and show them, they would match it then u get 5% off with voucher

    • can you put a screen grab… I cant find that anywhere.

      • Sadly I doubt we'll see one.

      • would be keen to get the screen grab too please. Can't find it on their FB page.

        • I've posted this on Nintendo switch owners Australia fb page go have a look or add yourself to page

        • +2

@Alexsim: Or you know, post it here.

        • @dfaktz:

Just at JB now showed them the screen cap of $469 and they won't do it at that price. (Highpoint Melbourne VIC)

  • I've got screen dump on phone how do I post it here

        • Thanks, as you can see I don't usually trust statements like you made originally, but you came through with the goods.. You're a legend! Now.. anyone reading this thats also from WA and plans to go to their melville store, back the hell off and find yourself a different store as they'll probably only accept this once :P

Bathe this guy in thumbs up karma, users.

        • @dfaktz: did it work? Coz when I click it it doesn't

        • @Alexsim: now it works

        • +1

@Alexsim: It works.. so if all goes well, with 5% off itll be $445.50 - So much more people woulda jumped on local stock and easy warranty for that price at the start of this post.

        • +2

@dfaktz: if you have entertainment book that gives u 5% off jb gift cards

        • @dfaktz: were you able to get it down to $445.50?

        • +1

@eviledward: I was, just got home, but I had some social engineering to do.. He originally said sorry it was a mistake and that JB hifi is giving an apology to everyone.. I said I can't see an apology on the website though.. then I basically let him talk himself into honoring the deal anyway.

Then the 5% is done at the counter.

So, yep, just might take some work or not work in certain stores.

        • @dfaktz: I only charge half of the amount u saved.

  • +2

    Cheapest place to buy Zelda?

    • Asking myself this too.

I think it's Target, $74, but their eBay store is out of stock.

I think I'll let MK8 tide me over until a BoTW sale.

    • You can get the Zelda bundle on the BigW eBay store for $477 Delivered ATM using COZZIE. Here's the Link

    • Check Costco if you're a member. Can't recall the exact price but from memory it was a little over $70

  • will go buy JB gift card with woolworth 5% off gift card later today.

    and 5% off

    and then TRS on 16/9/17(59days)

    bring it down to $398!!!!!

    • Be aware that GC may take one day to be activated, you may miss the deal

  • Do I need to print the voucher? Or show them from phone? My phone has a cracked screen, so I doubt they can scan the barcode successfully.

    • +1

Can buy online and choose to collect. That way you apply the voucher code to the order. I just did it from my phone.

      • Thanks for the tip, but I am willing to pay by my UK GC, it is only redeemable in store, do I have to pay online or just make order and pay instore?

        • +1

Reckon you have to pay online. Best bet might be to call the store? I have generally found them to be pretty good with random arrangements etc.

        • @cdkane: cheers, appreciate for your info, will give them a buzz on lunch break

  • Welp, looks like im pulling the trigger finally today after hearing all the theorys about the patents they own and why the switch is a perfect move for nintendo to get into the VR(Well, AR more likely) space.

I hope stock levels are good.

Wish they had the pro controllers on special.

    • sauce pls? interested to read

      • +1

        BBQ and Tomato please.

      • Sadly my source is just YouTube, been hearing it from quite a few people after they read the current switch patents/whitepapers.

        Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOUPbSakz9M (about midway through)

  • Is it possible to have the game swapped with another title in-store?
For example, you order the bundle with Just Dance 17 (JB price $89) and swap for Zelda:BOTW (JB price $79) in-store do you think it's something they can do with no additional costs?

    • +2

The only way to know is to ask them(it doesn't hurt to), but generally no. Personally I would say your chance is slim to none.

      • Yep, can confirm that they don't. Just asked. ={

  • Thanks OP. I ordered the Switch and ARMS. I'll get GST tax refund when I leave Australia next week. It'll be AUD421.45. Excellent price!

    • +1

I was going to ask why are you buying it here when it's cheaper in Japan, then I looked at the recent articles on 200 switches and 3000 people in line there…

Sometimes I'm glad Australia is immune to the US and Japan Switch shortages.

      • +1

Who said he/she is going to Japan? :)

  • Good deal but going to wait till Christmas at least. Hopefully Pokemon and Fire Emblem will have come out by then. Otherwise I may keep waiting.

  • Purchased, thanks!

  • Got for 445 with the screenshot of the 'mis-print' :D

    • Any chance to post the invoice? I am on the way to grab mine instore

  • Picked one up. Is the console meant to come unsealed? They said that's normal but I hope that is the case. Been stung before with returned products sold as new.

    • +1

Did you mean unsealed like no wrapping around the box? Then yes
If you meant the console wasn't in a plastic sleeve, then no!

      • Yeah, I mean the box itself. There was no tape or seal on it. The contents look fine though, although I haven't had time to open it up and have a good look yet.

        • +1

          Mine was unsealed.
My box didn't have any wrapping or seals.

        • Mine also unsealed. I think that's how they're all shipped. A lot of games don't come shrink-wrapped either these days.
