Not as bad as one seller I stumbled on which had their items located in "Italy, Australia". The listing was in Italian too. Not sure how they managed that, pretty sure "Italy, Australia" doesn't exist.

  • Waiting for 20% off deal

    • +1

You'll be waiting a long time.

      • Why do you say that? You have any inside information? When do you predict it will be next?
Just kidding. I'm not in a rush.

      • Didn't have to wait to long. Its 20% off today on Dell. That's what I was waiting for :)

    • Yes, you only get refunded what you actually paid (ie, less any discounts).

    • No, you just get free money. /s

  • Especially good for 'buy now' listings.
However for 'bid' listings it may push the price up as everyone who goes to ebay will see the 10% off banner and be prepared to bid a little bit higher.

    • +1

    • -1

No. I ordered a set of Nokian tyres from the US last week and got annoyed that I'd missed out on an extra 10%. I just added them to my cart again, they have multiple available, and the code isn't accepted.

    • -1

Yup worked fine for me when I bought an item from Cali when they had the 15% off sale.

  • Hopefully a decent gtx1080 deal pops up. I missed the $900 ti last sale from computer alliance.

    • I still have mine unopened next to me. Going overseas soon and could not be bothered installing then uninstalling it as I'm claiming it at the airport. Also claimed it for my taxes but as I purchased it on 26 June 2017, I only got $14 back that FY.

      • Thanks for letting us know mate, I was just thinking to PM and ask how your tax return was going.

        • Got just under $17k back on Friday so all good over here. Also managed to get my refund at HR Block and re-processed my HR Block fees on two other Amex's to get the Spend $75 get $25 back deals.

  • So can I purchase an item from the USA which happens to be available on the ebay.com.au website and then have this sent to OZ? BTW will an item that is worth $300 AUD be subject to GST now on import into OZ based on the new changes that came into play on July 1?

    • +2

GST for purchases under $1,000 has been deferred until next year.

There is a 10% GST on eBay fees for sellers that was effective from 01/07/17.

Thank the No New Taxes and low-taxing Coalition for their great big new tax.

      • There is a 10% GST on eBay fees for sellers that was effective from 01/07/17.

Only for private sellers. Tax the little guys Turnbull!

Thank the No New Taxes and low-taxing Coalition for their great big new tax.

Insert Turnbull logic here that these are not new taxes but the correction of loopholes used by tax frauds.

I purchased a Breville machine through a guy on ebay for $899 before the discount shortly after the deal was posted on Ozbargain. Since then the seller has changed the listing price to $949. These sales, if you don't get in early enough aren't really sales anymore.
    Here is his listing http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Breville-BES920-Dual-Boiler-Espre…

Aussie dashcam with awesome Aussie pre/post purchase product support.

      Strathfields on eBay have them.

One of my best purchases, the cam has been faultless in the last 18 months.

      • +1 for the street guardian. Surprisingly easy to install, not at all visible from drivers side. Excellent night shots. Great clarity. Got it when ebay had 15% off sitewide.

  • Can I use the code if I buy 2 items below $75, but total over $75?

Can I use the code if I buy 2 items below $75, but total over $75?

Yes but the link to the terms and conditions of the sale would tell you this.

    • My order of 4 items totalling $75.46 was fine :)

Just make sure all your items are in the same currency so it doesn't get split… the purchase may not go through as a single order over AU$75
