why this is better than handhelding? you are still holding it with your hand not like tripod or monopod which touches the ground and free from shakes and vibrates

ok the youtube review comparison looks good

    • +6

Check out the videos in the post above, a motorised gimbal cancels out your handheld movements.

    • You can capture stabilized free-floating videos.

    • It removes all the jitters and bumps and "smoothens" your video to give it that pro look.

      • seems it has motor to compensate the bumps. that is what i wanted to know - how handhelding this can be better than handheld the device directly

    • handhelding?

      • +5

It's like mind melding but for the hand

        • +1

          😂

      • +2

you want someone to breakdown the physics of why a 3-axis gimbal is better than just hand holding? Just google and youtube it geez

      • holding other people hands

  • ARGH! I bought this last week for ~$170 delivered

  • Thought you needed a plate adapter for GoPro?

    • The GoPro can fit snugly in the gimbal if you switch it to portrait mode.

If you're worried about it or doing something that's extreme movements then getting the adapter would be better.

  • Damn, I forgot cash rewards but yay got it cheap. Was looking at these around $250 two months ago

    • Yes, the price is sooo good that I can't resist anymore.

Was looking for one in Hong Kong back in April and no stock everywhere….glad I didn't buy back then.

    • Try make a claim if you forgot cash rewards ! https://www.cashrewards.com.au/contact

      • I didn't know you could do it that way.

  • Is there any way to use this with a good large sensor compact camera? Say a Canon G7X or Sony RX100?

Officially it seems like I'd have to go up to a Zhiyun Crane but that's over double the price!

    • crane m is the way to go for P&S cameras

      • Still almost double in price

    • I was looking into gimbals yesterday, and the pilotfly c45 looks like the way to go for compacts, as it's made for the rx100. It's smaller and lighter than the crane m, and doesn't obstruct the lcd. Though, it's 3x the cost of this. Also, warranty for their taiwan store seems non-existant, hence i'm hesitating purchasing it.

i bought it when the price dropped but without the extra 10% eBay discount… at this price i want to buy another one even though the 1 I have is enough lol

  • Anyone have any experience with the Zhiyun Smooth 3 vs this?

    • When I was doing my research (watching youtube vids) I came across this guy who reviewed the Smooth 3 right after he just reviewed the Smooth Q.
The stabilisation is much the same, but the Smooth 3 is made of more sturdy materials.

      Smooth Q: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVdYaNP4uhg
      Smooth 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeJPsjDyuwI

    • smooth 3 allow more weight, if you use clip on lens/filters. you can use spare batteries.

      • Very tempted by the Smooth 3 but it's almost double the price and only major differences seem to be materials and replaceable battery (Comes down to $278 or so with the code though).

        • only worth it if you are going to use the extra weight. battery last 12 hours, i doubt you are going to need a spare battery.

  • Thanks got one, cheaper than buying used.

  • Damnit I got this for $149 USD a couple months ago! :(
    Great price!

Also ironic that the coupon code is "PLENTY" and it's now out of stock… :)

  • Where's the Crane M?

  • +1

Any links to a GoPro Hero 5 adapter?

    • +1

      Try here

Take note of what they say about part of the arm being visible in certain angles with the DJI Osmo mobile. Not sure if the same issue happens with the Smooth Q.
You can see that issue in this video. https://youtu.be/_x9OsDh-U-E?t=5m43s
Apparently you can avoid it by shooting horizontally (not sure exactly) but there's videos on youtube which show it working fine so I guess they held it a different way.

    • Also interested in anybody's experiences with an adapter?

  • +1

Does this include the carrying case?

    • +1

Mine came with the carry case in the box. Pretty sure they all do

    • +1

According to the previous deal, yes.

  • Anyone know if it works with sony action cam?

    • Hi there,

Not for Sony Action Cam. I spoke to the supplier and not even an attachment can bear the weight.

I think a previous Zhiyun can. Smooth C?

      • +1

it should work fine. the x3000 with adapter is only 170gr, that is less than 7+ weight

        • Great, and where can I get the adapter… does it come with one? thanks

        • @adi:

          it doesnt come with one.

I bought from this guy here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnBXUk5gLkY. Expensive but I couldn't find anything else. the adapter could be better but i would rate it 8/10.

      • Can't be the weight itself.

        Device Weight
        Galaxy S7 152 g
        iPhone S7 138 g
        Sony FDR-X1000V 113 g
        Sony HDR-AS100V 92 g

Plus there's YouTube vids of it working with an attachment, eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ig0XV_enJw

        • +2

It works, adapter weight 65g. I bought from the guy on the video.

    • +1

There is a video to show how this work without Adapter. The one showed in the video is the entry level of their action cam though, so not sure how heavy yours is.

  • +1

Damn you guys spending my money…. haha

Funny thing was I was considering a Gimbal for my GoPro… this will hopefully be better as I will be able to use it with my phone as well.

  • Would this work with older GoPro models (3 and 4)?

  • +1

Damn impressive devices. Just wish I had the need for one.

  • +1

I have one of these and have to send it back cos battery failed. There have been other reports on Zhiyun Facebook page and some YouTube videos as well of the motors failing etc.

Not trying to neg, but just be aware that some may have issues.

That being said, be aware that the device you are using to film video needs stabilisation of some kind, so electronic is ok but at the very least required. I have tried on phones that don't have it and the footage is still somewhat shaky.

  • Amazing. I got my Feiyutech G4 gimbal for $300 a couple of years ago.

  • How does this compare to the new feiyu vimble C?

    http://www.feiyu-tech.com/index.php/Product/detail/pr_id/83.…

  • Sorry folks, bought the last one.

    • I got the 4th last one. Phew. Watched a few too many YouTube reviews and realised that I'd better get in before they run out again.

  • Awesome - was going to get DJI osmo - but this is less than 1/3 the price and will be fine for what i need it for

  • I had been considering a Feiyu Tech G5 for my GoPro Hero 5 Black… glad I saw this as it should be better being universal (so I can use my GS7 Edge as well - and any other future phones - as long as they don't get too wide) and a lot cheaper too, less than half the price!

  • +1

Back in stock. Just assume it will be replenished again after some time.

  • Lucky! Just snagged one and it must have been the last one, sold out now

    • You're super lucky! I was just trying to get the last one 10 mins ago when it said one more left and had difficulties with my eBay login haha

  • Back in stock again!

  • vouchers not work anymore

    • The code? Yes it does I just checked it again…

      • Thank you :)

        • It will work until midnight, but you can only use it twice…

        • @birdie: PLENTY is valid until Sunday night: "ends at 23.59 (AEST) on 23 July 2017"

        • @Thrift: Opps yep… :)

  • I didn't know I wanted one. Now I want one!
Would it work for other action cams with adaptors? Thinking if I also get a non-GoPro cam how it would attach?

    • +1

Getting an adaptor is the trickiest part, but not hard if you're handy. The goal is to balance the camera on all three axis.
Here's a good video that runs through balancing with a custom mount (demonstrates with a Lumix LX7): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8LwXlU3p5g

Perfect job for the ALDI 3D printer and Supercheap toolkit everyone bought :)

  • LOL i said ill order one when i get home. all gone damn! can anyone tell what this cash back thing is about? is that only for ebay?

    • Cashrewards website check it out
cash back on heaps of sites for every purchase
Just need to go to the CR site then to eBay or whichever site you buying from and they track your purchase and you get credited for buying via their site

  • delivered already. ;)

    • Mine's on board for delivery too, purchased Friday, delivery Monday, just amazing!

      • yep, bought some items from Melbourne last Monday, still waiting.

        • And I'm not at all surprised by that.
I have a delivery froom Telstra through Star Track which has gone through Prestons NSW, Yarra Valley VIC, Diamond Creek VIC, Sunshine West VIC, Research VIC and now it's been in limbo for a while.

          Anyway, enjoy the gimbal :)

        • Why are their differences in delivery times from the same retailer?

  • Back in stock

  • Mine just arrived.
Anyone able to advise on how it goes balancing a iP7plus? Seems too much for the gimbal. Any help or link to a tute appreciated…

Specs say can take up to 220grams, iP7plus is 188grams.

    • Did you adjust the gimbal to balance the phone as best you could while it was off first?

      • Phone sticks way out - I can't seem to balance well passively.

Will have another go at getting balancing better, and also make sure gimbal is charged fully.

        Thanks for tip.

      • I moved the slider knob all the way out and fully charged the gimbal.
Thanks a lot - this slider knob worked well and getting it balanced while off.

  • Ordered Thursday evening, delivered Monday morning via DHL Express. Woot
