Art Academy: Atelier is actually incredible if you're at all interested in learning to draw. There's really nothing like it available on the market as far as I know.

It's in 1080p if anyone cares.

Thanks just grabbed it due to your recommendation!

Wow, it does look great. I'd have purchased it in a heartbeat if I had a Wii U. :/

      Nice avatar btw!

    • Thanks KLoNe, grabbed it for my daughter.

      • Bummer got my order cancelled … oh well

3 weeks ago EB games New Zealand dropped all their Wii u games to $AU 14.09.
Shop around for these….for instance Super Mario 3D is $34.44 delivered at ozgameshop

    • Yeah a lot of these have gone UP in price compared to prices a few months ago on base.com and OzGameShop.com.au but you can still find better prices on those two:

      https://www.base.com/wii/pg735/bn10005510/products.htm?filte…

      http://www.ozgameshop.com/wii-u-games

e.g.: Captain Toad is $28 delivered, Super Mario 3D World is $36 delivered on base.com:

Not really a qualification but I Shop at EB a lot… I think I am at 14-15,000 carrots through a combination of pre-owned games and limited edition consoles.

The $15.09 price tends to suggest they are planning on dropping the price to $9. Not always 100%, but EB will generally have the standard price before the decimal, and the sale price after the decimal, at least in Australia. If you see something priced for $79.14 and there are plenty in stock, wait a while and play something else in the meantime.

To clarify, the New Zealand EB Games price was NZ$15, which I converted to AU$14.09 for ease of comparison.

        • Ah well there you go. No $9 Wii U games for me :(

  • Time to grab Hyrule Warriors or nah?

    • +1

Grab it mate. Something soo satisfying about plowing through hordes of enemies.

I played it through a couple of times with the missus.
She playes on the tv screen, and i enjoy the difficulty of playing on the small screen. Great co-op game.

The next Dynasty Warriors will be the first real open-world one in the series. Should be an interesting change for the franchise!

  • I'm waiting for Mario world 3d land to become cheaper

softmod your wii u until then?

Starfox is $15 for a reason… It SUCKS!!

  • -1

Thanks a bunch - grabed Hyrule warriors.

I so regret buying Starfox in a previous sale - worst controllers ever

    • -2

Same, I paid 36$ for starfox, what a massive disappointment

  • Oh, some great deals here, but I just packed up the Wii U last weekend after my Switch arrived

10 months ago the 15 dollar games were 4 and 9 dollars at Eb games

    Mario Tennis any good?

    • +2

20% good… sometimes 100% good but on average 50% good… just like Bernard Tomic

    • If you plan on playing single player: probably not worth it even at 15. Only has super basic modes available.

If you can get some mates together to play: 15 is a bloody steal. Every grand slam final I get some mates over at mine beforehand and things get real heated over this game. Great fun.

Yeah it has more modes then fake news clickbait claimed. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is.

It plays well too but if you dont have an Amiibo, can't access Amiibo Training Battles. I would say get it only if you have Amiibo, as it is one of the III "minigames". It also has a vanil. standard with floor mario items mode, and a "classic" mode which strips the game back to the classic original (no real powerups).

Also the Tourn. Knockout mode (but that is based on the schroom power up mode), basically the tourn., you play continous matches then faces bosses, endless battles but you can save your progress with currency, and retry next time you load. Battles get harder, superpowered enemies, etc.

-Standard floor mario item only mode
      -Schroom Mode (turns characters giant)
      -Amiibo Training/customization mode
-Giant Ralley Ball mode (Starts with a floaty Beach game, gets faster, smaller over time). Get points based on score or wins.
-Unlockable store (upgraded characters, new characters, courts, modes, can be earned through wins or game currency, your choice)

      Most modes have doubles, singles.
Hopefully that helps, still one of the better sports games this gen. Mario and Sonics are better.

Xenoblade X finally @ a price I'm happy to pay :D! Hopefully get a few hours out of it!.

The problem with buying games that are on clearance at EB online is that they often find whatever store stock they have and send it to you. The condition is sometimes borderline second hand. One of the games they sent me recently was supposed to be new but it didn't include the case because the store couldn't find it… ridiculous and a waste of time so I took it back to my local store and returned it.

    • This is true, I just received the Zelda Twilight Princess HD amiibo bundle in the mail i got from the sale, was an opened box with a lot of wear, and to top it off, no game inside, not even the case.

  • And here i bought XCX for $33 last Friday thinking it was finally low enough to buy 😑

    Great:
    Mario Kart 8
Star Fox Zero (its awesome, controls fine, real talk. Kids understand it, grown man "expert" core gamer types shouldnt have problems unless they frontin)
    Smash Bros
    Fast Racing Neo
    Pokken Tournament
    Mario Party 10
    Paper Mario Colour Splash
    Shovel Knight
    Kirby and The Rainbow Painbrush
    Yoshi's Whooley World
    Splatoon
    Super Mario 3d World

    Above Good/Very Good:
    Xenoblade Chronicles X
Hyrule Warriors (Nice use of the franchises elements)
    Steam World Collection
    Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

    Decent:
Bayonetta 2 (A bit overrated, sorry)
    Terraria

    Indifferent:
Art Academy (still good for painting i guess)

Meh: Tokyo Mirage Sessions (dated, doesnt really work too well for today, repetitive)

  • How do you know if the games are pre owned?
Bayonetta 2, Mario Party 10, Yoshi's Whooley World & Mario Tennis didn't come with any manuals. Should have they?

    • Wii U games typically didn't have manuals as there is an electronic manual on the disc.
