  • How firm would you say these are? Recently got a Onebed mattress and considering returning it because it's just too soft for a back sleeper

  • Are they similar to Tempur mattresses? I have one and love it. Would consider getting a single mattresss for my daughter if it's similar

    • I had an Ergoflex for 3.5 years and just upgraded to a Tempur. I'd say the quality isn't quite as good and it was starting to show it's age. But it's a fair jump in price too.

    • They are similar but not the same. Of course it will be different for everyone.

Had a Classic Tempur for 8 years, it was starting to get too soft, bought an Ergoflex - it was the same but not the same. Really hard to describe, but my wife and I were getting sore backs using it (and we tried for a number of weeks).

In the end gave it to the inlaws, they love it.

Tempur came to the party and got a discounted new mattress. Back to bliss … I guess for another 8 years?!

Similar material at a similar density, but I think the Tempur feels a bit more "fluid".
I bought an Ergoflex (previous generation) for our daughter and tried it out. It's definitely not bad, and fairly similar to Tempur. Great value. Certainly more likely to prevent long-term back problems; I do not understand why people buy crappy $150 mattresses for kids who are growing.
      I paid $500 delivered a year-and-a-half ago.

      • Couple of reasons to not use memory foam for kids under 2/3 ish

Toilet training … memory foam hates liquids!
Breathing reflex … not as strong in babies and small children, not to mention very easy for face to sink into mattress and form a seal - same reason you can't give proper cough mixture to children under 6/8ish

        Cheers

        • I would not use it for a toddler.
You are right about liquids, but I purchased a water-proof mattress protector. It has a membrame underneath which stops liquids, but breathes. Works great. Somewhat similar to the type which Tempur sells, but with a thin cotton upper layer (softer and breathable).

    • I have Tempur Original and Ergoflex. The Ergoflex is much softer than the Tempur Original. I would say it is almost similar to Tempur Cloud. However the feel of Tempur is a little different as it adjusts to your body shape. Eroflex also does upto some extend.

  • Would this (memory foam) mattress be significantly cooler than a latex? I bought a queen size latex mattress 5 years ago to minimise partner disturbance, and swore never again - it is just too damn hot, even in winter with outside minimum overnight temperatures below zero. Or perhaps an inner spring in-a-box would be better? I need something FIRM & COOL.

      Add a topper?

  • Recently bought this king size pocket sprung mattress from Ikea for $499. Not too soft, not too hard. Been sleeping on it for 30 days, so far so good.

  • Brilliant.

Was looking to replace a Euro king mattress (160x200cm) and these guys actually sell one! Dreamland (SA) quoted $1199 for the cheapest mattress they had that could be ordered made-to-measure, so this represents a significant saving.

    $1049 down to $839.20 :-)
