      Don't wash for 5 days, don't wear de-oderant

  • are these guys the Exynos or SD versions

    • SD I guess

    • It mentions "US model" and "Kryo" which would indicate Snapdragon.

      • To be fair, it says both:
        Processor Type:
        Octa-core (4x2.3 GHz & 4x1.7 GHz) - EMEA
        Octa-core (4x2.35 GHz Kryo & 4x1.9 GHz Kryo) - US model

  • Shopmonk doesn't have a great reputation, even though they might have tried some reputation manipulation.

You might be wise to read some previous comments before dropping $700.

I had a great experience with my Bose QC35 order

      • Envy you guys! I bought a 1000x (seconds) at $300.

Crap! Read the comments from all those that ordered & received the QC35 headphones from them in June, including me. Fastest delivery ever. Would glady buy again from them.

      • OK, looks like I'm wrong - so he's a good seller, but just banned from posting here for a while?

      • @tightarse, what's their warranty terms on these phones?

        • This is what I found from their page -

        • Thanks. Would like to know if anybody has had a phone warranty return experience with this seller and what it was like.

  • Does shopmonk has a drop off point within Australia like quality deals? Really tempted to get an S8+

  • Has it been cheaper?

    • +2

Last deal was $663 with the better Exynos version.

      • Thanks guess ill wait for something better.

        • Snapdragon is better for emulators :)

  • Ordered a gold 8+, lets see how this goes.

  • +3

Almost worth the warranty risk at this price. Samsung Australia will not touch these. Even for general repairs that you are happy to pay for.

    • +1

Samsung Australia are knobs. They have really poor customer service compared to Apple.

  • +3

Cheap but I still cannot convince myself to pay that much for a phone.

    • +1

I could for a local phone but a grey import with no local manufacturer warranty no way. This eBay seller hasn't been tested on the reliabilty of their warranty and returns process.

And Samsung Australia won't touch these phones even if you pay them.

  • Why are grey imports always so much cheaper than Aus stock? They're all made in the same factory from the same parts no?

    • +2

Because of distribution costs and reseller's markups.

Samsung has to get a distributor to get it here (let's just use Synnex as an example). Synnex takes a cut. Then it flows down to the resellers, like Telstra, who then also takes a cut, and by the time you have it in your hands you would be paying the 10 percent GST as well.

      • Just like from Hong Kong official shops always a lot more expensive than grey imported stores.

      • After accounting for GST its still $200 dearer. And I'm comparing it to the cheapest on sale online stock, so no charges from Telstra. It can't cost $200 per phone for "Synnex" to import it…not even $20.

        • Anything over and above the 10% GST in difference will be the overheads associated with selling them locally.

    • tax?

    • No GST.

      • Because of distribution costs and reseller's markups.

        Well said!

      • Still $200 cheaper than cheapest AU stock excl. GST.

        • -2

So you're trading your warranty for $200? Definitely not a deal, unless the Samsung S8 is a very reliable phone.

  • Just got my phone today from last deal… Amazing phone. But i forogt to order a case :( so cant use it for about a week or longer

  • I hesitated for 5 mins and now its sold out. Great

    • +21

      Don't worry you saved $679+!

    • Gold S8 still available.

  • Sold out.

  • aww missed out!

    • Get the S8+, it is around the same size as older 5.5" phone.

  • +1

Great deal…lucky I didn't hesitate and was able to get an s8 before it sold out! :)

  • Can anyone tell me if there is any disadvantages for having the dual sim vs a single sim import?

    • The only disadvantage I can think of is being unable to use a microSD card while the second SIM slot is in use.

        • @Hahuh:
          Thanks albert,broot and Hahuh.

    • More convenient to activate prepaid Sims. I've been spending $10 a month on mobile data and calls for the last few years.

  • This blows GG

  • Both models sold out :(

    • +1

Gold and Grey S8+ added to post.

  • If I waited 5 days, I would have save $60 ?

This one still seems available? S8 gold, $679?

    • +1

      Thanks. Added to OP.

      • +2

Gold just sold out aha :P

  • Samsung Galaxy A9 pro is also very tempting for $360. But mustn't buy.

  • The delivery dates on these is quite long i.e. "Estimated between Fri. 11 Aug. and Wed. 30 Aug"

  • +1

Is this compatiable with all network?? I mean won't be any band issue.

  • Telstra banned but their products still get posted here….

  • Hi OP, you have mentioned Dual Sim in the Subject/header but on the product page dual sim isn't mentioned.
Can you confirm these are Dual sim models and not single sim please?

    • -1

      All sold out dude

      • Already bought one but just noticed Dual isn't mentioned in the advert :( and I specifically wanted a dual sim Model.

        • First course of action is to contact the seller. OP is just highlighting the deal, and buyer needs to have checked the description before purchasing.

        • -1

"buyer needs to have checked the description before purchasing." I completely agree.
"highlighting the deal" highlighting deal with incorrect/improper information… no good.

        • +1

@addictrkr: Not in the habit of posting 'incorrect/improper' information. I do my homework prior to publishing any deal. Dual SIM was confirmed with Shopmonk rep well in advance of posting. PM him here if you have any concerns.

        • +1

          @tightarse:

Yep for sure, the model number they supply is SM-G955FD as confirmed by their Customer Service.

  • will there be more stock coming at this price, before the end of the sale?

    • hope so.. should have pulled the trigger when I had the chance

    • I will get the s8+ if they are in stock before sale end.

  • +1

Mine has shipped already with an ETA of Monday 31/7. Can't complain about the service so far.

    • how did you find so far?

      • Was that message to me?

        • yep

        • +1

          @nmk:

So far they have been quick to reply and even quicker to send the phone (It arrived in Sydney today and will be out for delivery tomorrow) so I cannot complain so far.

No idea how they would be if I had a warranty issue, but fingers crossed I don't have to worry about that.

        • @Mattycee: That's good

  • Got an email saying they have run out of Black in S8 and asking if Grey is fine.

    • Mine arrived today and I have flashed it with the XSA firmware and am able to use VoWifi and both sims work so I am very pleased so far.

      • Did you get unopen seal box?

        • I believe it was unopened, it was sealed in plastic but that is able to be done by the store.

I am pretty sure that the seal was intact but the phone didnt go through the setup when I first booted it so it may have been resealed carefully. Either way I factory reset it after flashing the XSA firmware.

        • @Mattycee: could it be a refurbished model?

        • @addictrkr:
No it was sealed inside as per Aussie stocks. It’s brand new that’s for sure.

        • @Mattycee: Thanks

    • I received the same message, and according to them they are trying to source it and no eta atm.

      • I said yes to orchid Grey, as the colour actually looks good. Got the delivery confirmation as well.

    • +2

Top notch service from Shopmonk again. Although they ran out of Black version, communicated to me on time about the situation on Monday and if I would want Orchid Grey instead. Posted the phone within hours of my confirmation on Monday evening and I have the phone with me this morning.

Hope their after sales support mimics their sales service. Happy customer for now!
