In my quest to find a decent 50" TV for around $600, I have found some nice deals by VideoPro on their ebay site. Hisense makes some decent quality TV's and comes with a 3 years warranty.

  • I'd go the TCL over this. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/321280

I think the new tcls have proper HDR pro.

Hi @sillyhead, Yes, right. Because the price difference is so low, just $52 …. I think TCL is better value for money. Although I consider Hisense a slightly better brand than TCL. But both are offering a 3 year warranty.

Regarding your HDR comment, on TCL website it says *HDR only via USB.

I think HDR Pro is not available in the TCL model you linked to. Its available in this TCL model which cost $1,088.20 shipped from Ebay Betta.

This UHD Hisense TV has HDR support too … $842.60 delivered with code PLAYER

  • Both brands are about equal… Hisense has more exposure in Australia

  • I think it's misleading to call them LED TV's, they are LCD TV's with an LED backlight. I don't think you can buy a CCFL backlit LCD TV nowadays so it's easy to see some makers are trying to get people to confuse them with OLED's.

  • The 55" is unavailable.

  • Can these or the TCL ones be used as monitors?

  • Some stupid has decided to increase their shipping cost and that's making it $675 instead of $630 (including the 20% discount). I remember it was around $8.50 when I last looked at it.

I was almost ready to purchase it :(

    • ugh me too
