  • Do you reckon this would include proactive?

    • Excludes Ego, J&J Baby, Aveeno Baby, Gaia and Bambini brands and selected Gift Sets

Proactive doesnt fall under cosmetics, haircare or accessories, so I would say yes.

      • I know ur qualified fir one of the skincare bags awhile back. Goes to show, never pay full price for most things. Make sure you have sufficient supply to carry you to the next sale.

        • +1

For the skincare bags, not all skincare brands are qualified. It usually specifies which brands you can purchase to be qualified.

        • @Ughhh:
Yes. This one was awhile back. A bag or two ago.

    • Hey if you don't mind me asking, what do you use proactiv for? I was looking to getting some to lighten the blemishes on my back from back acne

      • Proactivs magic ingredient is Benzyl peroxide. You can get a 50g tube of various strengths from $10-$20 (Benzac). Benzyl peroxide can lighten, but it's mainly for active acne. Are you looking for scar treatment?

        • Hi ughhh, yes I've found that dairy made me break out, so now that I've stopped that I have the ugly scars to deal with, would benzac be good for that

        • +7

@montorola: The dark marks that you get after acne are called postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. Look for products containing salicylic acid (BHA) and AHA. Vitamin C products and Retinol will also help to fade PIH. Try The Ordinary products, they're reasonably priced and effective.
          https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/the-ordinary

The best treatment for PIH is to give your skin time to heal. Make sure you moisturise too, as that will help to preserve the skin's acid mantle. This will aid healing and also help to prevent future breakouts.

Benzoyl peroxide is used as an anti-bacterial. If you no longer have active acne, then you don't need to use it.

        • @montorola:

I would say try other products designed for scars. Benzac treatments designed to be left on your skin overnight, so it's probably not very convenient when sleeping as well.

Laser stuff would be good, but it's fairly high risk and expensive imo.

You could try derma rolling, microdermabrasion scurbs or chemical peels (AHA peels) (you'll need a hand) and applying skin treatments like VitC serums and stuff like that. Those are stuff you can get from skincare stores or online easily, though strength won't be as high as professional places. All of this takes time. Don't forget sun protection too.

        • +2

@montorola: try niacinamide + zinc from the ordinary, it reduced my acne marks. The alpha arbutin works better but they don't stock it in Australia (you can get it from deciem website).

        • @mjjeje: The deciem official site requires $50 order for free shipping, you may be able to get it from ASOS with free shipping with a smaller order ($40).
          http://www.asos.com/au/the-ordinary/the-ordinary-alpha-arbut…
Official site has a better range though, including the new The Ordinary foundations.

Another item that's good for treating blemishes is The Ordinary Azelaic acid, but you can't get that in Australia and the official site won't ship to Australia either.

        • @mjjeje:

Woah didn't expect such an overwhelming response, thanks to everyone that replied, I'll take your comments on board and see what works best for me. Cheers! :D

        • @moocher: didn't know asos actually stock on the ordinary, thanks for the info.

        • @mjjeje: No worries. I always get them when ASOS has 20% off site-wide. Also that's where I managed to get the Azelaic Acid (currently out of stock) and Alpha Arbutin.

        • @moocher:
If it doesn't have to be The Ordinary brand, how's this in comparison?
          http://www.egopharm.com/azclear-mdicated-lotion/

        • @kirynflare: Sorry I am not sure, I haven't used either. I got the azelaic acid for a friend.

        • In case anyone was wanting to get The Ordinary's Azelaic Acid suspension, it's finally back in stock at asos.com. As mentioned above, you can't buy this in Australia.

      • Maybe buy some peel solutions from eBay. I had lots of ipl done on vouchers and that helped a great deal. Fractional (pixel ) laser may help.

I trust clearskin clinics a great deal.

Maybe get a friend to do some needle rolling on the affected areas you can't reach.

    • I purchased proactive in the last skincare sale at 40% off, both single items and the 3 packs, hopefully it's 40% off again in this sale.

  • Is it store-only offer or online sale?

    • +1

      Online and in store

    • +1

But sometimes online runs out and they cancel orders.

      • Yeah - happened to me during the last sale. First time I bought online as I couldn't get to a store.
I did buy later on in the sale period, so that would probably be why.

Tried again and bought as soon as it came online, so hopefully it goes through fine.

  • +1

    Bondi sands on sale ?

    • Yes.

  • Which face sunscreen doesn't leave a white caste?

    • I love La Roche-Posay and always stock up.

      • Which one is your fave? Unless I've missed them, none of the Priceline LRP ones are physical sunscreens unfortunately.

        • +1

I love La Roche-posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Ultra Light 50 mL. Not sure if it's physical or not. I'm allergic to an ingredient in the majority of sunscreen and body washes. Funny thing that ingredient that I'm allergic to, I only get a reaction when the ingredient is activated - by sunlight!

  • +1

anyone know good eye cream for dark circles and puffy eye?

    • +3

Not a cream but you can try the Ordinary's caffeine solution. With any product YMMV, but overall reviews are positive and many report that there is a visible difference after using the product. You can check out some reviews here.

Unfortunately it's no longer listed on Priceline's website but you can get it at Myer at $12.70. Adorebeauty.com.au also stocks it but you need min $20 order.

    • Try Natio for the puffy eye. Dark circles probs make up, because skincare doesn't change the colour of your skin that much.

    • -1

The cosmetics industry is close to 100% bullshit.

Get a cotton pad, apply light cooking oil such as olive oil and dab it on. Then dab it off. Before you say anything this is exactly what so called moisteriser does.

      • Your comment shows how ignorant you are towards cosmetics and skin care, in particular the value of features that make it worth it. You really think make up would apply nicely over olive oil? You think walking around with a greasy face is going to win contracts?

        • I was curious and asked about an olive oil serum I used, the SA said that the molecules would be too big to be absorbed and it was a barrier :( has a collection of that serum

  • Been waiting for this but now I don't know what to get haha
Mainly after a whole range of products for facial care. Moisturiser, cleanser, toner, scrub, etc etc
I have a lot of new and old acne (in the form of scars and dark lumps) as well..
Any suggestions? At 40% off I don't mind spending on the more luxurious products if they actually work.

    • What's your skin type? I love Sukin, Botani and Burt's Bees.

      • Dry and oily.. :(
Especially after a bad sleep, my skin will be flaking off after a shower and then later in the afteroon my face will be oily as anything. Even after moisturising in the morn.
I've tried a few combination types and some normal ones and had no real difference, so it doesn't seem to matter lol

        • Maybe two different products then? For dry use the Sukin night cream (jar). For oily try Clean & Clear blotting paper. Is it like different areas? Like for me the sides are dry while T-zone is oily.

  • There is also hypo pigmentation where blemishes and scar are white. Usually associated with darker skin, but I get it even though I'm a couple shades above albino.

  • Do people buy in-store or online?

During the last 40% off I bought online and the next day the order got cancelled and I had to rush to a store to try and get what I wanted.

    • Once bitten, twice shy?

      • Pretty much - missed out on some stuff we normally stock up on because by the time the cancellation request came through and we got to a store they were out of stock.

Hoping that there are no issues this time around because I've bought at the start of the sale - last time was late on the second day, so probably a lot of people had gotten their orders in and they hit stock issues.

        • How do the cancellations work? Will they cancel just the items that aren't in stock or the whole order?
          I'm tempted to order online.

        • +1

          @SKobb:

For mine they cancelled and refunded the whole order.

    • +2

I buy online almost exclusively on these sales as frankly, people (and socialising with them) are not to my taste.

Never had one of my orders cancelled but the last 40% off one did take over 10 days to dispatch.

      • Probably a one-off then - I'll try again

      • Be in a rush and have a list, know what you want and you'll only have to talk to the check out person.

      • Thought I would add I ordered this round on Wednesday and got my shipping notification on Thursday evening. A job well done by Priceline!

    • I go in the day before and fill up my basket, pop it on hold, he comes in the next day to pay/pick up.

Just got the wife 3 x rosehip oil thingamajigers

This will please said wife very muchly.

    Thanks OP :)

  • The Ordinary all gone from shelves at Priceline @ Rhodes Shopping Centre, Sydney.

    • +1

Online was tricky too. At 11.55pm last night all but one product was available (can't recall which), then at 10 past midnight (when I went to pay) only three items remained! Wow, that was fast! Managed to grab the three and my order has now shipped, complete with The Ordinary, so I think I was one of the lucky ones.

      • Wow! That's crazy!

      • Actually it's probably all bought by eBay sellers like this one to sell at 3-4 times the price!

        • Am I missing something? Wouldn't you just wait for it to go back to full price and then buy directly from Priceline again as oppose to considering purchasing it from eBay sellers like the one on your link?

        • @deal junkie: No, you're not missing anything. I guess some people are that gullible/lazy to google that they don't know the local full price is much cheaper than those eBay prices.

        • @deal junkie:

Some people are dumb and think anything on eBay must be cheap.

    • +2

For those looking for The Ordinary, Priceline isn't the only place that stocks it in Australia, though it's the only store I've seen so far that actually includes the brand in sales. It's also available at

      • adorebeauty.com.au - Free shipping min order $20, cashback up to 9% from Pricepal or 8% from cashrewards.
      • Myer
      • ry.com.au but you need min $99 order for free shipping.

There are certain products in the range that you won't be able to purchase in Australia, including the Azelaic acid and Alpha Arbutin.

      • Thanks moocher - might try adorebeauty. Didn't know about the low free shipping threshold.

I managed to get the HA 2% + B5 but missed out on the rose hip oil that I wanted to try.

I wonder if it is any good or if it is just hype all over social media…

        • No worries.

I have actually avoided getting the Hyaluronic acid since Australia has a dry climate. Even though HA is meant to be great for attracting moisture, I have read a few online articles that say that it has the opposite effect when the humidity is low - if it can't draw moisture from the air it will draw it from your skin instead! See source. It will probably be worse in winter with all the drying effects of heaters. Since you've bought it you might as well try it, but stop using if you find that it's drying your skin instead.

The rosehip oil is a natural ingredient and not just made by The Ordinary (though their formula is good quality). I've been using that at night, just a couple of drops is enough, and it's absorbed quite quickly. No miracles or anything but it does leave skin feeling supple and regulates oil production.

  • Will all stores stock the ordinary or just the main ones. I have a few smaller shops around me but yet to try.

  • I've been to 3 stores in Adelaide today and had one of the ladies call Customer Service and it seems most stores have virtually one of The Ordinary in stock.
All stores seemed to have the Rosehip Oil in though.

  • What is this Ordinary everyone's talking about?

Stocked up today on: sunscreen, french brands, face wipes, cheap wipes (for hands).

    • I thought you were on of the beauty experts/people on here, how do you not know/not heard of The Ordinary??!?!?/

      • I have no female friends, and know much more about food :P

    • This is a good article on the brand.

  • Received my order today. Extremely happy to see they have moved from plastic product protection, like bubble wrap, to all paper, and recycled looking paper at that. Yay!
