Probably from a school, and thus probably taken a thrashing.

Yeah, unless these have had new batteries installed, given their age these most likely won't hold charge very well.

      • Agreed, 3 plus year old high usage batts would be 50% at full.

how is a base model from 4 years ago at 60% retail a bargain??

    • +1

      Apple money haha

    • Exactly what I thought when seeing this deal. But Macs hold their value quite well. If this was a PC equivalent, it would be less than $300.

Lol. My sister got one new for $500…

Is it worth $100 more now secondhand?

  • Do they even have stock at the moment?. Doesn't look like it. This is from the web page. Upto 3 weeks for delivery?. Are they taking orders for stock which they don't even have yet?.

    "Availability:

Please allow up to 1-3 weeks for delivery
    No pickup"

whilst airs are cool, i use one for my daily work. this isnt a good deal.

spend the same money on a Xiaomi Air 12.5 a far better buy

    • Windows v OS X. That is the difference. I am definitely not saying that that price for a second MacBook Air is reasonable, but they are hardly the same.

      • It sounds like you're trying to justify a price increase based on the presence of OSX…

I also have a Air for one of my jobs (and thus didn't have to pay for it), and would gladly pay extra to be RID of the operating system.

        Media creation? Sure!
Actual productivity work? Please god no.

        • No, you jumped to the wrong conclusion or perhaps i was clumsy with the words I chose. There is nothing more fundamental to a computer than its operating system. Some prefer Windows, some prefer macOS, others prefer Linux, some might even like BeOS (I did back in the day). I quite like the Xiaomi Air, but I don't like Windows.

Dafaq. Install Brew and you've basically got the most stable Linux OS. How is that not productive?

pay extra to be RID of the operating system

Then install BootCamp. Seems you judging based on little knowledge.

  • That price for a secondhand 4 year old model? The Apple thirst ain't that real.
