  • This is early.

For the Lenovo deal don't forget using the codes.
    LENOVO15 takes 15% off $1500 or more
    LENOVO20 takes 20% off $2500 or more

Combined with the amex statement credit, makes for a pretty decent deal.
    * the discount is taken off the standard price, so may be worth to double check as sometimes using the Lenovo promos they have work out a bit cheaper.

    • When are these codes valid until and are there any exclusions? I can't find the deal on ozbargain

      • +1

Hi, i used the codes back in Feb and they are still valid, seems to be ongoing

    • +9

I'll be waiting for scotty or tightarse to come through with a great Lenovo deal to use this Amex offer on.

  • +6

What the hell is Harrolds and why is it in capitals.

I thought you were shouting Harrods.

    • Me too, I was thinking there is no point to travel to UK and redeem AMEX offer as it states in store only.

      • +2

There is a store in Westfield's Sydney

    • +1

Very high end clothing store. Tshirts $300, socks $100 etc. All designer stuff.

      • +3

Is it the kind of store that won't even talk to you if you walk in wearing casual attire? You have to be in a suit to get any service?

I used to get that kind of treatment when looking at $10k TVs at Harvey Norman. They won't talk to you, even if you are actually looking to buy such a TV.

        • No not at all. Some stores are for older fashion styles ( original store) others are for younger fashion followers. Expensive brands like Valentino, Rick Owens etc.

      • +2

Very high end clothing store. Tshirts $300, socks $100 etc. All designer stuff.

and probably all made in some 3rd world sweat shops…….

        • +2

Didn't know Italy was third world

        • maybe, I dont know.
some stuff is taken out to some US desert and shot with a shotgun to get holes in it, I do know that. So not only a heap of money but also full of holes :)

(A lot of designer stuff is made in France and Italy though.)

        • @PVA:

          @sanf:

well, I am happy to be stand corrected, but most of the so-called high end designer items I have seen are made in…… developing countries.

in fact, there is bit of joke going around where the patriotic Chinese tourists are travelling all over the world to bring home designer handbags which were made in their own backyard :)

        • @FW190: I wonder what brand those bags are, Celine, Hermes, Prada, Gucci are made in France, Italy.

I wouldn't doubt small items of clothing are made anywhere, doesn't mean poor quality though.

  • which Lenovo laptop is worth to buy? thanks

    • +17

The one with a keyboard. You're welcome.

      • +2

One with a screen is even better.

    • +2

What do you want it to do?

      Just browsing the web?
      Multimedia
      Office applications?
      Video editing (HD, 4K?)
      Ganming (2D, 3D)
      Drafting (Autocad or similar)
      Other job specific software?
      Use at home/work/outdoors
How long are you away from a power outlet in a session?
Portability, how light or small do you want it?

You need to know what you need before anyone can have any idea what to suggest.

      • I need laptop to browsing the web,Office applications,Use at work/outdoors,maybe away from a power outlet in a session for 3 to 5hrs,up to 14" and under 1.36kgs would be good.thanks for the reply

I like the Yoga 520. Will do all you want easily and the convertible format makes it a little more versatile than a standard laptop.

It comes with 2 battery options a 2 cell if long life isn't important
          http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/deals/special-offers/studentedg...

And 3 cell if you want a longer life away from AC.
          http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/yoga/yoga-500/Yoga-520-...

        • @singlemalt72:
Yoga 470 maybe, 520 is going to be 15".

        • @singlemalt72: Here is list of what I want:
          no more than $1100
          low heat
          good battery life
ips 1080p matte black screen/ acceptable color gamut/brightness, 13.3inch or larger
          dedicated gdrr5 video card
          light < 1.8 grams/smallish (I could compromise, though.)
          usb-c (for 4k monitor @ 60hz)
          skylake/kabylake i5/i7 minimum
          decent keyboard/trackpad
          no mechanical HDD/DVD

I have been eliminating a lot of laptops/ultra books, but I am growing weary.

        • @FeRGan:

          light < 1.8 grams/smallish (I could compromise, though.)

          Wow.
          1.8grams!
          You're a hard person to please :P

        • @cwongtech: Lol! Better make that Kgs…

        • @cwongtech: I'll take 10,000

      • What do you want it to do?

        pron

        • Well, that goes without saying!

    • +2

You can get the 570P with i7-7700HQ, 256 SSD, 8GB ram (+100 for extra 8GB)
for $1549 (Using code DEALS) - $250 (amex) and extra 7% rebate from cashrewards
so $1200 ish for a pretty high spec laptop

      • Just spoke to someone online about it and they said that cashrewards can't be claimed on it.
There's no way to use LENOVO15 with this DEALS coupon is there?

    • +1

Be aware that their return policy is suck, they charge you 20% restocking fee if you change your mind.

  • manual link?

    • Click on links above, then click save to card

  • I only got the Lenovo one on my DJs AMEX

  • -2

Can you split the payments with Lenovo to get the Amex cashback twice?

    • +1

      NO.

  • Thanks OP, all manual links are in the post. Working well!

  • +3

HARROLDS, where it can cost $1400+ for a freaking t-shirt.
    https://www.harrods.com/en-gb/valentino/embroidered-insect-t...

I need like a SPEND $1500, get $1450 back kind of deal.

    • +5

Not sure if you realise that's Harrods (minus the L). If Harrolds is the place I'm thinking of it's not much better pricewise though!

    • Are those insects made of gold?

  • +4

Harrolds has pretty scathing reviews online … should be fun to watch the carnage when a bunch of ozbargainers turn up looking for a good deal, trying to split payments across 10 amex cards :)

  • +6

Guys don't forget cash rewards for lenovo and Bobbi brown .

    7 % for lenovo
    8.8% for Bobbi brown .

    • -5

      Guys

      Requires political correction

Can't wait for TA's next Lenovo deal - will buy 2 and make it super cheap!

  • +1

not much here but high spend for lenovo, just waiting for a lenovo deal to be posted

    • I don't know what their laptops are like but their desktops are full of bloatware and run very slow.

  • I can't seem to be able to find the login for AMEX connect anymore on the web site.

Does this mean we have to enter all the details (name, card number, email etc) for each offer or am I missing somthing ???

    • +2

Yes, that's how AMEX connect works now for bank issued card.

Saving offers on your AMEX issued cards still works the same way.

  • If there was a GTX 1070 laptop I would jump at it

  • +4

Harrolds is the only place in Australia that sells Manolo Blahnik shoes (although they only sell 1 type - their famous hangisi model).

It's one of the few things in Harrolds that's always been cheaper than buying in Europe or America which is quite strange. $80 off makes it even better.

Edit: Harrolds also does multiple transactions per item, so you can also take advantage by using multiple AMEX cards to claim multiple $80

    • +1

Doesn't seem that good a deal for a 6th gen M5 if you ask me.

      • Yeah no option to change processor

      • And no dedicated GPU…

  • Common Amex give me some offers for PC parts.

  • Does it include Harrolds outlet at Birkenhead?

  • Does this deal work for the Harrolds Boutique in crown? That one has 50% everything all the time

  • Looking for light weight laptop for child going to high school. Which one would be better? Price difference from the Thinkpad 13, I will be able to add on Windows Pro instead and perhaps more memory.

    Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 370:
Processor: Intel Core i5-7200U Processor (3MB Cache, up to 3.1Ghz)
Display Type: 13.3" FHD (1920x1080), IPS, Touch
    Memory: 8GB DDR4-2133 SODIMM
Hard Drive: Intel 256 GB Solid State Drive OPAL2.0 PCIe-NVMe
    $1,499

    Lenovo Thinkpad 13 Gen 2:
Processor: Intel Core i5-7200U Processor (3MB Cache, up to 3.1Ghz)
    Display Type: 13.3" FHD (1920x1080), anti-glare, IPS
    Memory: 8GB DDR4-2133 SODIMM
Hard Drive: Intel 256 GB Solid State Drive OPAL2.0 PCIe-NVMe
    $1,299

    • Find out whether your child is likely to use the extra features in the Yoga's screen.

      • Thanks. I might actually consider the T470S as probably more durable compared yoga.

  • For Lenovo, if you purchase something for $1500 but use a 15% off code (bringing price down to $1275), are you still eligible for the $250 credit?

    • No. The rebate is based on the amount charged to your AMEX (which would be the $1275). Can you add a cheap accessory, eg case, mouse?

      • Yeah no worries, asking on behalf of my brother, would be easy to add something in to take it back up to over $1299. Cheers.

    • No

  • anyone using X1 carbon gen5? any good?
