Thank you for posting this. I was approved. Time to end auctions and relist.

  • This is my 4th time approved for the 10 free listings. Anyone else in the same boat?

    • Did you sell anything on the other 3 occasions?

  • Awesome, I have a $6000 watch I want to sell, and a couple of laptops.

  • I'm hoping to get this soon, I've got a few items lined up to list. I had one in May and another in July, plus a '$1 Final Value Fee' in June. They seem to be targeting a lot of small-time sellers to entice them into listing.

  • anyone have a bad history with selling on ebay?
I'm scared that if i put on an expensive product, say my Mass effect Paladin replica, they'll just intentionally sabotage or refund on Paypal, then there's this huuuggggge wait on investigating, enquiries etc…

    • There's threads on whirlpool that discuss how to avoid most scams. You can state you will delete bidders below a certain feedback number, and if you list it local pickup only, you can require they pay in cash. But when listing on ebay and offering shipping, ebay requires sellers to accept Paypal. So you could list it Australia-wide on Gumtree instead. Then people have to either pay cash in person, or send it to your bank account. If you're in a highly-populated area (Sydney, Melbourne, etc.) then I wouldn't even bother with ebay. Gumtree has no fees, your ad can stay up as long as you choose, you can check what it normally sells for and list it at that price instead of worrying no-one bids for some reason, or sell it slightly less to guarantee it sells (considering you'll have no ebay fees to pay on Gumtree)…

Question - If I list them within the promotion time but don't get sell ebay usually will relist it automatically right?

So do I have to pay the fees if the item get relisted and sold after the promotional period?

    Can anyone clarify?

    • You can sell up to 30 days auction and if it fails to sell and lists automatically (if you didn't uncheck the box to automatically relist), you will be charged for the final value fee and any subtitle fees if it sells.

    • If it is relisted, you will need to pay fees.
If it is listed within the promotional period, but sold after that, feeBay won't charge you. However, if the item is not sold after the promotional period, relisting will incur fees.

    • Do I need to sell within the deadline 5th Aug?

      • No, you just need to list the item by the 5th.

  • As usual, feeBay not offering me anything. Oh well…

  • Damn! I just unsubscribed from the promo emails this week… Couldn't deal with them any longer.

The idea to be targeted for these promos is to be subscribed to those emails, right?

I have never been subscribed and always got the promo.

  • How do I get in on the offer? I'm coincidentally looking to sell about 10 items…

    • Click on the link whilst signed in and it'll tell you if you're eligible

  • Click the deal on top of this page and it will automatically accept the offer if you are targeted.

    • Tried that already and: "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you."

      No idea why not :(

  • oh heck, I'm getting this offer and another "Free Selling Trial Offer" end on 31/8!

  • 3 accounts = no offers. damn it

  • i got targeted :) thanks.

  • hello ebay!

    Goodbye Alienware laptop!

  • Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you.

  • Got it. It says you get free subtitles as well when I look at my promotional offers

I've never gotten such offers. What's going on?!

  • Will this work with Good Til Cancelled? They can run a long time before a sale.

    • Better off going with 30 days I would say. The offer will no longer be active once the original listing ends.

  • "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you." :(

FYI - went on to eBay and this didn't come up in my promotions but clicking through the link it worked and is now showing….worth trying :)

  • I got it, but only for 3 items. 😳

  • Cheers OP :)

  • Don't forget eBay has that $30 voucher for $500 in sales offer going as well until the 3rd. Might be targeted tho so check your eBay messages.

  • Came up after clicking the link provided from OP. Thank you!

  • Curious. When the item needs to be "listed" by the 5th of august, does that mean it has to start by the 5th or can I set up 10 auctions that all start on dates after the 5th (so technically they are "listed" but havent begun yet.) EG one starts on the 10th, another on the 13th etc etc

    • Pretty sure scheduled listings after the 5th won't work

  • How can you check if you qualify using the ebay app?

  • I never got an email but if i click the link it says I have the offer. Does anyone know were/if any in my account settings I can find details of the offer?

    • +1

From the eBay homepage, hover over 'My eBay' and click on 'Selling/sold', scroll right down to the bottom of the page & there will be a list of all of the currently available/active offers.

      • Thanks its on there..now to relist all my shit

  • I never sell anything and they never target me…

  • If you revise a fixed price listing after the promotion period, eg by lowering the price, is it still free?

  • Pardon the noobie question, but what does "Targeted" mean?
What's different about those deals posted as "Targeted"?

    • marked for death

    • 'Targeted' means not available to everyone, only those who have been selected for the promotion are able to take advantage of it.

I have nothing to sell though

      your body?

  • I accepted the offer, listed items, they didn't deduct from my tally… so I went to chat… got assured it was fine.

Sold my first item this morning, sure enough $11 fee. Back to chat I go, useless.

    • Hey how did it go with the chat ? Did they gave you a resolution ?

I would probably have to contact them as well soon.

In my case, I ended my listing a few days back.
I then activated the promo around 10.30pm on the last day.
I then relisted the listing I ended a few days back at 11.17pm and then after that I posted a new listing of another item at 11.54pm so now I have 2 items listed.

When I checked All My Ebay > All Selling > promotional offers area,
under history >"sell 10 items for free" I can only see that it has been used 1 out of 10 which when I check it is for the one I listed later at 11.54pm
And the item not on the list is the one that's worth a lot :(

Not sure whether it is because I relisted the item and not starting from scratch or is it because I am using the fixed price Good 'Til Cancelled
but when I realised this issue, the clock has gone past midnight :(

    • Mine deducted from the tally and I've still been charged. So annoying. Chat for me as well.

      • @fredblogs, let us know how you go

        • I got my credit back but I still have other items that did not get listed under the promo. My guess is that this promo did not work for fixed price items even though it's part of the conditions here: http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/promo/2438
"The Insertion Fee and Final Value Fee will be waived for the first 10 items listed in either Auction or Fixed Price format"

I've emailed them to ask why my other items were not listed in the tally.

      • And the 2nd item sold repeated the problem, both refunded, but 3 times on chat, the first to pre-empt the problem as I saw that they werent deducting from the offer…. getting fed up with it. Never had this problem in the past.

        • Did preempting help? They told me I have to wait until the items sell.

        • @fredblogs:
Same, I warned them it was wrong, but they said nah it'll be fine… I wonder how many people are gonna pay fees without following up…

        • @scuderiarmani:

And a third item with a fee, why can't they fix it….

This time the chat guy was denying it. Assholes.

        • @scuderiarmani: Yes same, chat guy denied it by saying I listed the item before I accepted the promo. But their timezones were wrong.
