Please note that the last flight departs

    flight ???

    • Poetic license perhaps :-)

    • first time I read flight on the Melbourne Star website (years ago) I was shaking my head…and vowed never to visit for that marketing wank alone. But of course I would never pay the ticket price to begin with…so that wasn't hard.

Too bad I couldn't control all that wasted tax money…for the original and the repair. No free coupons for the taxpayers.

How much are these tickets normally?

Wow - I'm suprised they get anyone at the normal price!

Who would pay $36 to go on a ferris wheel ?????

        • Romantics!

      • Wow - I'm suprised they get anyone at the normal price!

One word: tourists. If the glorified ferris wheel were ever run as a real business, it would be closed down. But because the funds come from mum & dad…no worries bro.

No, I just think that the OP should post why they consider this a bargain. Part of that would be to mention the saving…

  • Does student count as concession for the Melbourne Star?

It goes around at a snail pace..and how far can you see..eureka tower you can get a better view and kids are $11.50 Adults $20 and you can stay long as you want

    • Exactly, and Melbourne is by far the least attractive skyline compared to Brisbane, Sydney or even Perth, even at $15 this is not attractive. Eureka is a much better value proposition given it's central location & lifestyle options closeby.

        Huh?

There was a Bavarian Beer Cafe downstairs/close by the last time I was there, and it's a short walk to Flinders St & CBD.

I assume he meant it's closer to the red light district

Hey to be fair, you can see the top of costco really well.

  • We went on the weekend, with tickets purchased from the last deal. Watched a gorgeous sunset and I must say, it was worth the the $15 we paid. But I also ticked that off my "list of things to do" and don't think I need to go twice. Plus I took some really nice shots of the city and the wheel….maybe that was my favourite part…. Can def recommend this for budding photographers.

  • Having been on it, agree, not worth even for $15. View is awful, who in their right mind would install a ferris wheel that overlooks;

    1. 2nd oldest port in the country
    2. Swathes of factories and housing commission towers

Don't be like that…it makes Melbourne 'unique' now.

A landmark that people notice. Built on the taxes of good citizens. Then repaired by the taxes of its good citizens. Allowing the gov to attract those tourist dollars, so nearby businesses can collect more taxable income, the taxes of which disappear into the same butts of The Pigs who spent our money recklessly.

      All is good.
