Do we get to witness some white kid chant racist remarks at native / non-white players as well?

    • +5

no, just a stadium full of Ozbargainers gnashing their collective teeth over MCG food prices

      • +5

Not if they take a few punnets of Aldi Strawberries

  • +2

It's ski season so there should be plenty of empty seats.

    • -2

who can afford going to the snow, oh yeah, those kind of people.

  • Nice one, I had plans on going to this with friends.

Cheers for the free tickets OP

OP - I think it said on the brochure you have to have an international passport?

    • There doesn't appear to be anything on the website- in country of origin it says 'Australia', so it should be open to locals also.

I don't have a copy of said brochure

      • No worries - I just knew about this since I got a brochure in the mail. But you are correct nothing about the passport on their website

Thanks mate. Registered.. Go the Dees!

    "inclusive event"
    "dynamic and vibrant multicultural community"
"celebrate the cultural heritage and identity"

God they couldn't virtue signal any harder if they tried. Is this for the indig round, or the "multicultural" round?

    • Isnt indig multiculture cos they not same culture so its multi.

      • -4

It was a genuine question, because AFAIK there are two separate rounds, one to honour the significant contribution that Indigenous players have made & continue to make to the game, the other a "multi-culti" round that tries to convince the wider population about the benefits of open borders etc. What's next? Amputee round? Otherkin round? Transgender attack helicopter round? It should be limited to ANZAC round, Indig round, womens round.

        • Why is anzac, women, and indig more important then their opposits?

What about men round and settlers round. Then thats true equality.

I think theres LGBT round so maybe a straight round.

    • I really despise people like you. Go back to the edgy manchild part of reddit.

Very handy to stumble upon this as a Saints fan, cheers Dees for the hopeful free tickets. If the Saints can turn their recent tailspin around is another story!

    • Recent? They have been terrible for years.

  • Japan - zero immigrants zero terrorists. Six year olds can catch the subway by themselves.

Went to the football recently and they checked under my car with mirrors and searched the boot.

    • +1

      Cool story.

    • +1

1 - zero Refugee not immigrants

2 - Some one spray painted on Bullet train coaches in 2008, they caught the culprits in 2009 and send them back to native country. Someone tell this to Victoria Police.

    • Shoko Asahara was a terrorist. Born and bred in Japan. The Tokyo subway has a high rate of sexual assaults on women. I don't think Japan is helping your argument.

      Security theatre is every where.

One nutter vs a systematic widespread problem. Ridiculous comparison.
The agent Smith effect. Indoctrinated agents eager to pop up with falsehoods when the matrix is questioned.
        Truth, the new hate speech.

    • Mine said I had to go collect my tickets from the marquee at the ground

  • Got my ticket too. Thanks OP. It states "Entry Subject to Capacity." Does that mean that there is no seating, ie only standing room? If seating is allocated, surely they would only issue as many tickets as there are seats available.

    • Would be farcical if people are turned back from the 'welcome game'

    • There is more chance of hell freezing over than the MCG being full for a Saints / Melbourne game

  • Got my tickets abour 1 and a half days after regisatering

  • By chance, does anyone have any tickets for tomorrow's game that they are willing to give away?

  • I screwed up and forgot the print out the ticket before the deadline yesterday. Is anyone not going who has a printout willing to share them with me? Thanks

    • It doesn't need ticket. Email says pickup your ticket at mcg

  • Well that was interesting

Stood in the queue for 15 minutes to pick up my tickets.
Got to the front of the line

Ticket lady: Sorry we just ran out
    Me: what do you mean?
Ticket lady: they only gave us x number, and lots more people registered than the number of tickets we have to give out
Me: Oh no, that is not very welcoming
Ticket lady to other ticket lady: do you have any tickets left??
    Other ticket lady: only 2
Ticket lady: Can I have them??
Other ticket lady reluctantly handed them over and so I got the last 2 ticket they hads - she didn't even look at the email I had printed out. There were still heaps of people n the queue who I guess would have been very disappointed/upset

As it turned out there were 43,000 empty seats at the G
