    Energy rating - 2 Star

    that doesn't sound very good…

    • +2

I was wondering that too, but I have a feeling Dryers dont have very good energy ratings in general. Or if they do, they cost a mint.

      Can anyone confirm?

      • +3

        correct

For the amount of time these are used its not too big of a problem

      • +2

Confirm - this type of dryer will almost always only have a 2 star rating. Heat pump dryers will get 6 - 7 stars, but of course, with a higher up front price of around $1,500.00+. The amount of use will be a factor on which way you go.

most are only about 2 stars at best

  • How much to include installation?

  • reviews are crapola

    • +1

Which reviews are you refering to?
      I've found
      5 x 5 stars
      2 x 4 stars
      2 x 3 stars
      1 x 1 star
The biggest complaint from the 3 stars was it used a lot of electricity, but that is the nature of a heater…
As for the one star, it broke and they got a refund.
If you've got more info I would be keen to see

There are three types of dryers. Heat pump is most expensive (>$1200), most effective and has most stars using least electricity. Clothes come out at room temperature but is dry. Other ones include condenser and vented which just heats the clothes up and sucks out the vapour. These are cheapest and fogs up the room with vapour. Think the vented ones drag the vapour into a water box for you to empty. Usually a 2 star on these are considered good.

Condenser dryers condense the moisture and feed it into a container or out a drain hose. Vented dryers vent to atmosphere.

  • The Sun - 5 stars

    • +22

Little known fact: The Sun is actually only 1 star.

    • Yeh but what is the warranty like on these models?

      • "2 year parts and labour warranty"
But there is this thing called Australian Consumer Law.
        Its been around since 2012
"…the consumer guarantees apply regardless of any warranties in place."

I suppose you stick your head in it to dry your haier.

  • You can now get it for $269.10 C&C on their eBay store with "COZZIE"

    • Thanks mate, just saved $30 on my purchase!

  • Worst dryer ever made. Don't do it.

    • I would appreciate an elaboration on this, please.

Owned a 6kg Haier Dryer for the past 5 years. It took 3 hours+ to dry a load.

Finally replaced it with an "el cheapo" Esatto and cannot believe how much better it is.

Perhaps Haier have improved their power beyond that of a 2 slice toaster, but I'll never try them again.

        • They acquired Fisher and Paykel around that time. I'd hoped they carried through with their trickle down tech idea since then. Thanks for the feedback on them.

And GE appliances, and set up a 110 acre R&D centre in USA. They also own Hisense TV I think.

  • Thanks OP

    you've saved me 29.90

OK, the dryer has been bought, delivered, installed and tested. I am absolutely delighted with it. It is quick, effective, dries perfectly, and the clothes are noticeably fluffier than from the the previous Fisher Paykel. 5 stars from me, admittedly after only 2 dries, but with a 2 year parts and labour warranty I'm satisfied. No, I don't work for them or TGG (or anyone else for that matter).
