Found these on clearance today. Box of 5 for 20c - down from $7.
Hopefully more stores have them. Don't have my pool yet but have some filter savers. Researched them tonight and see that stockings do an equally good job.

Not the best practice.
Little curly seaweeds clogs up the filter.
While these are terrible quality stockings are even worse and will not last at all.

Be careful with these and only use while vacuuming pool and then take the sock out. If you leave it in skimmer box all the time, it will break and eventually end up clogging your filter or you sewer line when you vacuum to waste.
When i got a plumber to jet blast my sewer line as it was clogged, we found a couple of these in there. He mentioned he saw that quite a bit with swimming pools.
They seem to be able to catch smaller debris and extend the life of the filter. I assume you have to check / clear / clean them at least once a week. and change regularly. not a set and forget item.
