What's the current ROI on one of these bad boys?

    • +3

No where near where it used to be a few months ago. These are all fairly ordinary buys IMO - not worth it.

30m/h gets like 70aud a month (excluding electricity) at current price/exchange rate so… like 7 month ROI thats not taking into account the difficulty spikes. realistically probably 10 month ROI. not worth it.

    • If difficulty continues to rise you will be going backwards after 6 months and that assume AMD fix the DAG issue.

http://www.mycryptobuddy.com/EthereumMiningCalculator/path?h… (This assumes pretty cheap power and realistic power consumption)

      • yep. only way profitable is if you have free power. I run a mining rig at work with R9 290s which doesnt have the DAG issue XD

    • Cheers for the info

It's better to be selling shovels than digging for gold.

$3299.99 PLUG and PLAY MINER SERVER based on 6x1060

    Seems like a fair ripoff.

    1060s can be had from the US for ~$300 x 6 = $1800

There's no way the supporting PC components need to be $1500 worth.

  • $550 for 1070 fe? no thanks

Don't really see any bargains here. Just a company caught with their pants down trying to flog off mining gear before it goes tits up

    • these mining cards cant even be resold later with no I/O lol unless they work for SLI/Crossfire.

  • Was just looking at GPU's to replace an older R200 series but the bitcoin miners seem to pushed the prices through the roof ATM.

  • Any deals on 1080s rep?

  • Do these guys have a valid ABN? their website looks half complete as well.

  • Is it worth to be using one's gaming graphics card to mine a bit of coin on the side with one of these pools?

    • I am only a noob in this area, but from my calculations and a bit of experimental mining to a litecoin pool - nope. You're better off saving the $$$ you'd spend on electricity and purchasing your crypto-coin of choice, and then holding onto it. As I understand it the established ccs are past the point of efficient CPU or GPU mining being possible, especially in Oz with expensive electricity.

      • Oh I see, that sucks for us then. I was hoping I'd be able to use my GFX to keep warm and make a bit of coin too as well!

  • Wtf are they thinking?? Do they have any idea what airflow happens on a GPU? Stacking them so close together is counter-productive - they will overheat and throttle their clockspeed. If you want to maximize the output of a miner ($/day/kWh) then you align the cards flat so that their fans are able to draw air efficiently and at a low temperature.

  • (profanity) miners.. gtfo of here. Yes offence.
