  • The last ebay sale they were $449 less 20%. If you're not in a rush, wait for this again and get it for ~$360

Not really that good. And I don't mean "OMG I'll never pay more than the $250 when they were that crazy price" but they frequently drop to about $350 during sales.

Atleast these are real genuine and not counterfeit like those "$250 deals from Malaysia, etc". Yes there are cheap counterfeit QC35 being sold from Asian countries.

      • i wonder if they got their money back yet

        • You mean the $217.44 deal from Malaysia. Who knows. But i can't believe that they thought that deal was actually legit. It had counterfeit and dodgy all over it.

        • @hollykryten: I have to admit with a great deal of shame, that when the iphone first came out I bought a cheap one in Thailand. The most expensive piece of junk that I have ever thrown out!

  • sorry if this question has been answered before but does the Myer ebay price include GST?

My girlfriend is keen on these headphones and we are going overseas soon so I want to know if I can claim the GST.

    • +3

Ofcourse it does include GST. Myer is an Australian national retail chain and this is Australian stock. None of those dodgy overseas counterfeit stock going on here.

    • +1

Don't quote me on this, but the invoice you get 'should' be for the full amount. And it does include GST. So you can claim it on $499 if that's what the invoice says, since eBay codes tend to work separately from experience.

      • yes the invoice is full price. just got my qc35 from deal and invoice shows full price

    • Yes they include GST, so you can claim TRS.

This could prove to be nothing, but thought I'd post just in case. Some people noticed the graphics on a recent Bose email had buttons not present in the current production model and rumoured if it wasn't perhaps a soon to be released update.

  • Those who bought Bose QC35 Headphones at $254.15 from Shopmonk, are they happy with the purchase? One of my friend who purchased it from them said the Noice cancelling doesnt work.. This Myer offer is not a deal compared to other sale in eBay, but I guess atleast it would be genuine.

The noise cancelling doesn't work perhaps because it's a counterfeit, fake. Not a real genuine QC35 manufactured by Bose. You get what you pay for. Pay $250 then don't expect a genuine Bose QC35, expect a counterfeit. There's probably tons of peoples out there walking about with counterfeit QC35 on their head especially the ones who think they are professionals from Ozbargain. They didn't get a bargain from Asia, they just let themselves get ripped off with a counterfeit.

      • How's your tin foil hat going?

        • It's on fine and tight.

The one I got from Shopmonk is good, and genuine too. You can use this link to check https://global.bose.com/en_us/product_registration.html

The ones by Sony are cheaper and rate higher. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/322004

    • wrong model, Sony 1000 is the ONE to get, not the one in your link.
I read your comments there, but I don't trust Choice that much. I was in one industry for 10 years, most Choice tests in the industry were controversial at the best if NOT misleading. take a grain of salt with Choice - the Bible for many, sadly.

      • Looking around on the weekend and I too found the 1000X were the ones to get of the Sony's. That said, many had the Bose in front for various reasons and a few articles basically said "get whichever is cheaper". It didn't seem like one necessarily blew the other out of the park.

Gist I was getting was the noice cancelling was basically on par. Sony had better sound quality (although a different sound signature which in turn meant some preferred Bose). Bose was a bit ahead in terms of comfort. Sony had some cool features around pass through of external noise etc where Bose played better with multiple devices. Most articles seemed to prefer Bose physical buttons over Sony's touch sensitive cup which proved too fidley and imprecise.

Anyway, it seemed a case of "take your pick" based on what you needed.

      • You could be right, though I was surprised to see the 1000 model was rated quite a bit lower. Choice at least is about as independent as you can get, even ozbargain comments such as yours (and mine) could be heavily biased with no real way of knowing if you or I work for Sony, for example. It says it's a panel of experts so you hope they have some credibility. Even if they are similar quality, the 100's price would make it a much better buy.

      • What are your thoughts on the Wirecutter compared to Choice?

  • Shows out of stock for me.

  • OOS?
