  • Poor man's Timberlands??

I wonder what they're made of? Will your feet sweat in them?

    • Yes essentially. Big W have a range of budget branded footwear that ape more expensive brands. Quality comparisons will require individual inspection.

    • Went and had a look in store. It's all synthetic.

      • Sweaty feet central!

  • Hinterland + Tim = Timberland? :P

Not a bargain, Kmart/Big W/Target/whatever shoes will hurt your feet. They won't last and you won't want to wear them. You get what you pay for sometimes, and you especially get what you pay for when you buy $30 shoes.

Your personal definition doesn't meet that which is used by this site. If you wish to merely comment that the quality of such items is poor then that is fine. I personally do not share your experience.

Whilst I haven't seen these shoes specifically, I have tried many other shoes like this and the quality of such items is poor. I wouldn't advise anyone to take them for free, let alone allow Big W the satisfaction of receiving your money.

I don't think you can call anything a bargain if you don't get good use out of it, regardless of how much it cost.

I think that's a much more defendable statement. Good job.

  • I was looking at these on Sunday. Shoe body appears to be suede (i.e. leather with rough side out), but the dark-brown cuff is definitely vinyl, and the sole was softer than many sports shoes, about as hard as cured silicon rubber. You'll wear through the sole much faster than most shoes.

Personally i would rather pay more and buy a Timberland Men's Premium boot (Wheat Nubuck colour) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/322887 that's going for $129 delivered from Catch. That would last way longer and feel better on the feet than this cheap crap here. You get what you pay for.
