shirt and socks on the way… promo clearly says you get a code every time you book, hope they have some way of checking which user is ordering or it's going to get rorted. thanks anyway….!

  • Can someone post what email the voucher was sent from, im thinking mine might have gone to the spam folder. Thanks

    • +1

      [email protected]

I have noticed that my old account didn't get any of the promotional emails from that address, and my wife's new account which did get the voucher, did receive promotional emails.

  • Booked on the 18th for the 19th, got voucher 21st.

  • Got my five vouchers and used successfully combining with 'CARTOFFER01' for free shipping - looks as if shipping time is 3-5 days.

    • +1

When I used my $50 voucher, it took the shipping off without needing to enter any other codes.

    • +1

When did you book your bays? They seem to be a bit slow on the weekend bookings

      • Booked a weekend bay, got my vouchers 55 minutes before scheduled time. Maybe I was just lucky, but didn't seem to be slow for me?

        • +1

Yeah you must have been lucky! It doesn't sound like they have a formal process in place

    • Booked for the weekends, received the codes about 5 days after bookings. I followed one up with their help desk and they said allow five days.

Free shipping seemed to be included sometimes, sometimes not… useful to have the code rather than trying to tinker with everything.

      • did you call or email there help desk?

I have sent emails to [email protected] , but so far they have just been ignored.

        • Don't they say allow up to 5 days?

        • @voteoften:

yes, but I contacted them on the 19 Aug.

        • they have replied to me today, possibly watching this thread?

offered me a refund to my $2.50 which I accepted.

    • Have you got 5 vouchers on one account or different accounts i made 2 orders got 1 code and made 2 orders with my wife account got no code at all

      • +1

I used different accounts, although the email said you can get as many as you want with one account. The codes don't appear to come automatically, all mine came about 5 days after and all at once, so I think they must be sending out the codes manually.

Once you do get the codes, NB deliver to Melbourne in a couple of days, so worth the wait…

        • I booked the exact same spot twice (accidentally) and got two codes :)

      • +1

Careful with ordering multiple at a time on a single account. From my experience so far, if i had multiple bookings active for one day, e.g. 3 bookings on one account, I only received 1 code for some reason. I could however, book, receive the code, then book again, in this case I'd receive both codes. I've been doing bookings on three accounts though - it's just one of the accounts I decided to prebook 3 in one go - and I only received one.

        • Have you contacted customer support? Just curious if they would honour it and give you the vouchers for valid bookings. I don't see why they wouldn't.

I have a few bookings this Saturday but I only have one account. Keen to see if they all come through.

        • @jenovax1: Might contact tomorrow if I have the time since tomorrow marks 6/7 days, honestly not too fussed though - I'm getting so much gear at below 15% cost overall

        • Thanks for chiming in with information gained from your bookings. I have 2 bookings for today and tomorrow, from your experience I'm wondering if that would work or I should cancel one booking.

        • +1

@jenovax1: Quick email to them giving all my booking references, they've sent through all the codes I've been missing!

        • @NitroNinja: nice one :)

    • Mine took shipping off automatically? $50 off and $10 shipping off?

  • Not promising. I had bookings today and the last two days. Haven't received anything but the initial confirmations. Wonder if they are going to change the rules.

    • The send the vouchers out in waves so just wait for that to happen, they should be there in the next few days.

      • Yay, keep the faith.

  • Made booking on 22/08/17 for 23/08/17, received coupon 25/08/17.

  • My vouchers came through today, booked for 10:00 and they came at 9:05, right after the free cancellation.. Well played secureaspot, well played.

And you cant use 2 in one transaction :(
Oh well 2 x $50 gift cards for NB for $4!

    • Ha! I have some from 3-4 days ago that haven't come. Did u book Wollongong ?

      • Yeah this Saturday :)

        • Aaaaarrrgh!!!!
So did I, as well as a couple of weekdays.
          Thanks for the update.

        • @voteoften: Arent weekdays more expensive? Booked 2 spaces for exactly the same time, place and day :D

        • @pennypincher98:

You can get some weekday spots for $2 at wollongong. I don't understand why you'd wanna cancel for a refund though, that's kinda dumb

        • @NitroNinja: But isn't there a $1 booking fee on top of that? Weekend rates are $1 for up to an hour yeah?
Yeah cancelling for refund kind of is dumb, but its still $4 :D

        • @pennypincher98:

No, pick an afternoon, <1 hour, 0.99c + $1 booking fee

        • @NitroNinja: For the sake of saving 1 cent? A weekend <1hr is $1 + $1 booking fee.

        • @pennypincher98: You asked if weekdays were more expensive… not me.. I was just sharing information in case you wanted to book on weekdays to get your voucher etc during the week, which you can do so, on thursday bookings at the same price.

        • @NitroNinja: Ah ok I see, although I got my vouchers soon enough anyway?

        • @pennypincher98:
This is the last weekend to book (for weekend parks in promo period). You wouldn't be able to book next weekend anyway; so I'm saying if you still want vouchers during the week, you can book at the same price on thurs (which happens to be the last day of promo too)…it's not more expensive.

        • @NitroNinja: Oh ok yeah didn't realise Thursday was last day to book, thanks.

  • PRO TIP: If you go to book but then close the web browser, they will email you a 20% off voucher (email also said 50c booking fee not $1?) as an incentive to complete your booking. I would offer mine but might be using it yet :D

  • Does anyone know if I can use my Club Secure sign-up code for a free parking and still get a voucher…?

  • Adelaide parking you can get 30 minutes for $4

  • did anyone receive the voucher on an old account?

    • Yep i did! Worth sending them an email or facebook message them to follow it up

  • Anyone find anything decent to buy other than socks?

  • Tried to use my code but it didn't work. Says it's already been redeemed.

    Anyone having the same issue?

    • Did you have multiple bookings with one email?

  • I know it says for 'bookings made until 30 Aug' - so wondering if I book now for after the end of August, will we get vouchers?

    • Correct me if I'm wrong.

Assuming that people that booked before the 16th for the 16th-30th, got their vouchers. I'd assume its just for bookings within that period, which would be a no to your answer.

If you get what I mean.

      • Yep fair call. Booked for next week anyway so will see what happens. Cheers

        • They would email you with confirmation of booking and at the bottom there is a banner that will say look out for your voucher so worth checking that to see

        • Hmm yep there is the banner at the bottom :)

    • By the wording, as long as the booking is made before 31 Aug (when the promotional period ends) then theoretically it doesn't matter when the booking is provided the booking itself is made within the promotional period.

FWIW I made a booking for Saturday, got the confirmation booking email with the banner at the bottom saying I'd be receiving a $50 NB voucher so hopefully this works..?

      • But if you got what I mean, I made a booking BEFORE the 16th (on the 12th) for the 17th and I did receive my voucher.

Therefore, if its judging by what you said, I wouldn't have gotten my voucher as I did not make my booking between 16th to 31st.

        • Yep saw what you said =/

Don't know what to make of it tbh because yes I agree, by the wording your example doesn't fit the criteria.. but I'm hoping the banner in my email confirmation means something lol

        • @illumination: I'm just thinking that for all bookings made from now it'll automatically have a banner at the bottom (as the system's not smart enough to sort things out), but you might not receive the voucher in the end.

However, I sure hope I'm wrong and you guys receive your voucher eventually :).

  • +7

I don't understand how this didn't get way more exposure, this is honestly probably the best deal I have seen on here before.

    • +2

Thanks doewyy :) Really vague terms and conditions at the beginning of the deal probably turned a few people away.

Also should have updated the post with examples of cheap car bay options.

$2.50 for a $50 no min spend voucher is really going to help with Christmas shopping this year!

      • Yeah, if the terms were more straight forward at the start then it would have blown up, thanks heaps for sharing! The wollongong $1.70 seemed like the best deal, I ended up getting 8 vouchers and this equated to $13.60 for $400 worth of stuff, what an absolute steal. A few friends I told couldn't believe it when I told them.

        • No worries glad a few people have benefited from it :) Yes true $1.70 for weekends was the best find. I should have utilised the weekend rates a lot more!

        • So just to confirm - you obviously just booked the bays - not actually parked 8 times?
Ive booked during the period and still zero vouchers - even emailed them and they said wait 5 more days…go figure , sending of vouchers seems to random

      • +1

Yeah it was a good deal, I really should have booked a couple more. The terms say for footwear only but I bought some apparel. We'll see if it comes!

    • +2

I agree with you i thought this deal will touch 400+

  • +1

Wow, in response to zappy32 point. They JUST changed their terms and condition to state that it's for use for footwear only.

Like literally they just reworded their entire terms and condition. The part about the digital watches excluded was gone. Are they even allowed to do that?!

*EDIT: just tried one of my partner's code that she was saving up on a full priced apparel, but the discount does not apply anymore.

    • +2

      Holy crap =/ that's a game changer tbh…

I don't see why they can't do it but similarly I feel somewhat deceived, because I made the booking (with the sole purpose of getting the $50 NB Voucher, I won't lie) thinking I could use it on apparel, which the T&Cs at the time did allow.

I do feel like complaining, I won't lie.

      • +1

Yes. They just changed it probably an hour back. LIke they literally edited their terms and condition. Just wondering if they're even allowed to do something like that.

Considering if they said something like 90% off all shoes, and then when the vouchers are in, they raise the prices of shoes by 1000%. How is it then fair to consumers.

        • I can't think of why they can't adjust their T&Cs, there are usually words to the effect that "we may adjust the T&Cs at any time" and it's one of those things where if you participate, you are assumed to have "agreed to T&Cs". I suppose you could argue that we did agree to the T&Cs at the time the booking was made.

But it doesn't mean they're not pissing off a lot of people.

I suppose they consider that it is "worth it" (financially) because it was too expensive.

        • @illumination: reckon whoever booked before the T&Cs updated should be able to use it for anything other than digital wear, and footwear after the t&c changed…but quite unbelievable they just changed it like that

  • I think we should be able to report this to Consumer Forum since the t&c can't be changed for people who bought it under the prevalent t&c. For new ones, it will apply but not for the old codes..

  • the new T&C's… that's absolutely disgusting. Footwear is way too price-jacked. We need to report this TOGETHER.

    • Where do you suggest to report this to?

  • Secure parking have generated income from the parking bookings we have made and to change the terms after we booked is illegal. I feel deceived.

  • Just saw the new changes :(

It's so deceiving and unfair to change the T&C's last minute which renders all previous codes (unused) ineligible for apparel purchases.

I already have 4 pairs of NB shoes from the last sale! so I won't be buying new full price shoes from their site for a while.

    Grrrrr

  • did a quick test on NB website, doesn't work even on full priced "clearance" shoes….did manage to get a gym bag and pair of kids shoes before their change of heart….what a load of crap

  • +3

I just feel that it is not fair for consumers who were cheated into this, especially when the email which was received with the codes explicitly had the original sets of terms and condition stated.

For those who are interested as well, you can contact them under a complaint section at
    https://www.secureparking.com.au/contact-us

    • Please contact them directly not via the website:
      [email protected]

They have "lost" my emails via the website in the past

Ozbargain class action! Anyone got any referral vouchers so i can find a lawyer on airtasker?

  • +6

This is incredible, they are not allowed to change the T&C's after it has been digitally signed. For anyone who wants to complain, please go through the ACCC Here and file a complaint. However, you must send an email to Secure Parking first about this ridiculous change. That way Secure parking will get a formal letter of notice to honour those T&C's.

for the lazy, change gym bag to whatever:

    email: [email protected]
subject: Change of New Balance promotion T&C after code received

    body:
    Dear Secure Parking Customer Care

Thank you for sending me the New Balance $50 promo code for my Secure Parking booking.
When I went to purchase a gym bag from the New Balance website with my promo code I noticed it was not working.
The item was on full price, and was not a Digital Spots Watch which met the terms of the email.
On further reading the T&C at https://www.secureparking.com.au/promotions/active_august I noticed that "Footwear only" has been added to the T&C after my booking and receipt of voucher.

As my booking was as per the old T&C, can you please advise how I can continue my gym bag purchase with the code?

Please let me know if I should contact New Balance directly.

    • Just emailed the above to Secure Parking. Thydzik thanks for helping out the lazy fellow.

      here is my follow-up email;

      Dear Secure Parking Customer Care

I am following up an email I sent on 31st August about being unable to use my New Balance $50 promo code.

I have tried it again on a different item, which again is not a Digital Sports Watch and is a full priced item,
Yet it still doesn't work. Screenshot attached.

Can you please advise what I am doing wrong?

      Regards,

      XXXXX

(Long time lurker, first time user/poster)

Did a check with an external lawyer (at the request of my friend) and he recommended that we first show reasonable effort to contact them, and if the requests/demands are not met to then bring this forward with the ACCC or relevant authorities.

The last step would be to engage a lawyer to send a formal notice to the company and further actions can be taken after that step. He however, said that while the cost benefit analysis would generally not favour the consumers in bringing proceedings and unless it's a matter of principle that this issue be brought to court, there might be potential class action opportunity which would then involve a lot more money. He did mention that he detest such behaviour and would provide help if required (if Secure Parking doesn't offer a suitable remedy).

He did mention that such an act that's performed by them would likely be illegal and there's a very good chance they would honour their side of the agreement unless they wish for the matter to be blown out of proportion.

So, as mentioned by rispwaker2, doweyy and thydzik, we should all send Secure Parking an email urging them to honour the original T&Cs that we should be bounded by before the change. And then report to the ACCC.

If enough users complain, it will probably put more pressure on them to honour the terms. And if not, the ACCC will handle the situation.

    Cheers.

    • Thanks so much for signing up to post this!

  • Wow… Kept a code for Father's day, was going to be my dad's introduction to the brand. Have to now scramble for a last minute gift, as he has enough running shoes. Person who was in charge of this promotion needs to be retrained imo. New balance/Secure Parking may have saved a few dollars in changing the conditions but will lose a lot of respect overall.

  • Booked 3 parking spots during the period and have received 0 codes. Have called, was told to email, and have emailed but am still waiting for a reply.

    • +1

      I had the same issue.
Took a few emails to get a result

    • Still waiting for my 4 codes across 2 accounts. All way over 5 days after booking and parking date.
Have emailed them and they have said wait another 5 days…

  • I noticed they changed the T&C in the email with the new codes now as well.

    • Massive scumbags they should be banned from ozbargain. I am fairly sure they will not reply to emails on the matter either

      • they don't need to reply, just need to attempt to contact them before speaking to the ACCC.
If they don't reply, show's that they are not interested in coming to amicable resolution, which favours the consumer even more.

        • I have emailed and told them i would speak to the ACCC if i didn't hear back fron them. Just annoying they don't bother to reply

  • +6

I have dropped them an email ([email protected]). Feel free to use it for writing prompts.

    Hi,

I am writing in regards to the New Balance $50 voucher promotion that your company Secure Parking has offered recently.

I am not very pleased that your company has changed the terms of the voucher after I had made bookings.

For reference, the terms which I had agreed at the time of booking were:

New Balance promotion code expires 31/12/17.
    FREE shipping included.
For use with full priced products, excludes Digital Sports (Watches).
Offer only available online through www.newbalance.com.au
Offer available to both Australian customers only.

And the new terms after I had made the booking:

New Balance promotion code expires 31/12/17.
    Footwear only.
For use with full priced products only.
    One time use.
Offer only available online through www.newbalance.com.au
    Free shipping included.
Offer available to Australian customers only.

I have highlighted the major change ie. the additional terms "Footwear only". This has drastically reduced the items choices of the $50 voucher that could be applied and the perceived value of the $50 voucher. If the original terms had included "Footwear only", then I would not have participated in this promotion and I would not have made any bookings with your company.

I am hoping that we can peacefully settle this dispute by having your company Secure Parking honour the terms which I had agreed at the time of booking ie. the voucher should not be limited to footwear only. Otherwise, I will escalate the matter to relevant higher authorities and/or my credit card company.

I look forward to your reply.

    Thank you.

    Ronald

    • Sent the email, how long will people wait before contacting ACCC, does it cost them money?
I know ombudsman usual charge the companies for dispute.
Otherwise might do chargebacks which i know cost them money.

I finally got the vouchers and thought it wasn't working because I wasn't signed I to my NB account.
I think NB would be the ones controlling the voucher term on their system, think we should contact them as well.

Complaining does pay, I know a friend complained so much about a doggy 2nd mobile bought on eBay, hauwei just gave him a new one to go away!

      • Since Secure Parking ran the promotion, sold a service and distributed the vouchers, they are the ones who are responsible. It is up to them to contact New Balance and be like "hey, there's been an uproar. Maybe we need to revert the changes".

      • I usually always send a follow-up email, sometime from a different email address, just to ensure they haven't 'accidentally' missed it.

I don't mention ACCC or ombudsman, just something like
'I am following up the email I sent on XX Aug 2017, about the change in T&C and being unable to use the code for my originally intended purchase. I am re-sending in case originally missed. I hope we can amicably come to a resolution'

From my experience, ACCC will only offer general advice, usually copied and pasted, and usually not much help.
They will note the complaint though, and if enough people complain they may investigate independently.
