no, you need to buy stuff in order to get the book for free, otherwise it scanned at full price.
Iirc it's usually $39 or something when I scan it, but if I've already put through three Philly items it'll deduct the whole amount straight away.

Got one of these yesterday with the purchase of three Snack Tubs, we get home, read the book and realize every recipe basically requires a half or full block of Philly, /facepalm.

Wait a few weeks and you should be able to pick up a copy of this book at the local Op Shop.
went into woolies with my daughter the other night saw a sign on a stand full of cookbooks that said free cookbook so grabbed one,went through self serve as this was the only register open,paid for groceries and left it never even occurred to me to scan it as it said free
