More expensive - but the Huawei one has a QC port on it too for better USB charging:

It has one port that is capable of 9v 2a charging. No mention of QC certification. Unless you have a Huawei phone I doubt this will useful/reliable.

  • do they come in a bigger 6 slot power sockets for a decent price?

I haven't seen this before, but it looks like your (our) prayers are answered. Great price also!

      • thank you i will take a look at it and see how much it is to ship to Australia

        • Free for me. I just bought 2.

        • @Risto:

how much was it in AUD in total, since we can only price it in CNY or USD thanks

        • @smeng:

I have this and highly recommend it. It's well built and very compact. Only issue I have is the power button doesn't save the current state, so you can't use a smart plug if you're planning to control it via wifi as it is always off, unlike the 3 power strip which has on/off switch.

CN plus isn't just the insulation it's also a different thickness blade / prongs

    • And its upside down so can obstruct the switch etc

  • I'm confused….

    $12 and 4 weeks delivery for a 3 outlet powerboard with USB…

Wht don't you just go to Bunnings and buy one that actually meets Australian standards?

You could get at 6 outlet one for about $4 then plug your chargers into the 3 extra outlets….

I'm guessing these accept other plug types?

    • +1

yes. If you have devices with euro plugs or american plugs ,you can connect them to this without using any adapter. Thats the biggest advantage really.
I have a ATA from amazon with american plug and a battery charger with euro plug connected and working happily on this powerboard.

You cannot get a similar australian standard powerboard which takes international plugs. If you know of any please inform us.

Not sure about standards, but it does not make any noise! Which is important if you have it on your bedside table.

Xiaomi is as noisy as cheapy chinese toy :-(

        • I dont know about noise but thats the exact same chinese plug as the Xiaomi and double the cost. If it makes you happy ,go for it.

        • I have about 10 right now and bought another 4 for my g/f. Zero noise on any of these.

        • @gadgetguy: alright, probably I was not lucky with Xiaomi.

  • Website stops with a blank page on payment screen using Android phone :-(

  • Goes to a blank payment page in Linux as well using Chromium.

It doesn't meet Australian Standards which means this could potentially be seized at the border by customs if they find out you're importing this.

The plug itself is also a hazard. The fact that it's a Chinese plug, with longer pins than Australian plugs, in combination with the unsleeved pins, means that you could potentially have a massive hazard in exposed live pins sticking out of the wall.

Plus if the shit hits the fan and the authorities find out that this Xiaomi power board was the source of a fire or an electrocution incident, you would be in deep deep shit. Home insurance voided, family and/or friends injured or killed, possible criminal charges…is it really worth the hassle to save a few bucks on a powerboard and properly certified international plug adaptors?

    • +2

Yes. I've had plenty of Australian certified local cheap power boards flake out, spark, trip fuses, get an interesting internal rattle, etc. These Xiaomi boards have such better build quality I'd trust them over local ones any day. You probably have a higher chance of death being on the road driving to your local Bunnings than staying at home and buying one of these Xiaomi boards for delivery.

    • Sensible advice. I don't know why you were down-voted for this.

      • +8

Because it's literally all wrong…and this isn't legal advice.

There's no such restriction on importing for personal use. The plug you get in a new mobile phone most likely isn't certified either. Customs don't care (as they're too busy looking for tobacco).

The pins are .5mm longer and connect at the sides, not the back. It will not stick out of the wall in any plug as the tolerances are much larger than that. They're also .1mm thicker but again it won't matter as the connectors are sprung.

The restrictions are for retail/commercial, not for personal use. We don't have police going around hotels seizing electric shavers. The only way you could be held liable was if you knew it was faulty and dangerous, which it isn't, and still used it.

So sick of people talking BS about these powerboards. Scaremongerers please stick to your crappy Arlec boards and stop posting rubbish. For those people who buy this board it's quite versatile and I've used it in 3 counties with no dramas. Surely by now with the amount of boards Xiaomi have sold if there was a design fault or reports of fire with these it would be all over the Web by now.

      • Totally agree.

      • hey, I read on the internet that someone used one of these powerboards and they became autistic. these powerboards should be banned.

  • I've got 2 of these Xiaomis power boards …. yes they are cheap, but Bunnings as 4 socket power boards with individual switches per socket for $19.95 for a 2 pack….. so the Xiaomi isn't a compelling bargain. As to the chargers ….. heck I have enough Blitzwolf and Tronsmart for a long time and they do IQ charge QC2, one even does QC3 ……

    • +6

Can the Bunnings ones take international plugs?

    • +1

I have about 10 of these, they are very convenient. This is a great price, which is what this site is about, right? Not whether there's a different product available which is not comparable.
