Yay, I love all this competition!

  • +1

Gotta love competition. We can all thank Virgin entry onto the route for this.

I'd have a look at the QF A380 from Sydney and Virgin A330 from Melbourne both products better than Cathay.

    • +7

Cathay does not come with surly QF staff

      • +2

yep, Cathay or Virgin over QF any day!

      • +2

Cathay is miles better than Qantas/Virgin.

        • Depends if you get a 10 across 777.

          @GearUp:

Service, I mean. I don't care what plane I get.

        • @Juliet: sounds horrible! I didn't realise anyone had a 3-4-3 layout on a 777!

    Any special for Adelaide?

    • Qantas but not direct $536. Good price but would rather direct with Cathay.

  • +2

The service, price, Food, and in-flight environment of virgin are better.

Flew with Virgin to Hong Kong last month for a week (Virgin special $450 or $470 can't remember exactly)

Btw, earlier this week CX just reported a net loss of $3.24b for last financial year, maybe that is why they are offering promotion atm

  • Who do u guys use if price is the same? Aunt Betty? BYO jet? Or are they all the same

    • +2

that would then depends on who let me use AMEX cards (or at least cheap option to use paypal).
I like BestJet (fast, cheap and 1% paypal) or wotif (cashrewards).

      • +1

Watch out for implication on "complimentary" travel insurance, if test appies, when using PayPal.

        • I am pretty sure it was covered somewhere that AMEX will honor the insurance as long as it shows the agent. So you can use paypal as a form of payment for direct airticket purchase but not buying points, etc.

  • Does anyone know will it work if I buy it for parents from HK? i.e. they will first depart from HK.

    • Probably not. Try it though.

    • +1

Don't buy this deal if you want to get on in Hong Kong only. If you skip the first leg, the rest of your ticket will be cancelled.

  • Anyone know when this sale end?
