But would it actually light anything up like the photo-shopped images?

I purchased 6 last time, spaced them about 2 meters apart from each other and about 2meters off the ground, worked well and created a nicely lit pathway. They're good for their size. I would buy a few if you want an area lit up. Sadly though some prick decided to steal them, I have him recorded on my Arlo Pro too! I've since purchased the ARILUX Solar leds and solar flood light, mounted more securely, I would say one of these ARILUX https://www.banggood.com/ARILUX-AL-SL11-Solar-Power-44-LED-P… is equivalent to 2 or 3 of the above leds. Not the most scientifc and mathematical explanation but thats the best I got!

    • I agree - I did the same down the driveway. We're in Melbourne and the solar works fine even in winter.

The best part about these is they have low power use mode activated in darker hours and then they light up brighter with the motion sensor.

      It was probably Broden.

I have a couple i put in 12 months ago. Still working fine, they are more designed for path lighting rather than flood lighting. 1.5 meters off the ground and 2 meters apart I'd perfect for that job. Bought 2 more recently, yet to install them.
Batteries can be changed for others if needed

Got a few of the 25 LED version from the last deal. Mounted three along a pathway to the front door but quickly discovered that was absolute overkill so removed two and used them elsewhere. The single light is doing an excellent job. Shame they're not 'warm' white though as I find 'cool' white a bit unwelcoming. I have other security lights that dimly glow warm white but then arc up to a flood of cool white when they detect movement. Would be great if these could do the same but for around $10 these are excellent lights.

  • Can the batteries be changed when it dies? If so, what type does it use?

Also, can you set the length of time the light stays on after detecting motion? Or is it pre-fixed to 30s or something like that?

    • Batteries can be can be changed. AA

      • You sure Altomic? My 25 LED versions have 18650 Lithiums.

        • no, not sure now.

@altomic: Ha, all good. I was actually pretty impressed when I opened one up to see the 18650 TBH. I was only expecting a couple of crappy old NiMHs rattling around. Most likely a very low-grade 18650 but at least it's Lithium!

  • Can these be made to turn on at night & not motion activated only?

    • They turn on at night but stay on low power mode, once motion is detected they go full bright.

    • Cover motion denser with tape.or Open light and disconnect sensor

      • Thnx both

  • I got these on the weekend $12.10 for two 5 lumen

    • Nice but it's a shame they don't have Motion Detection, Dual Brightness or 18650 Lithiums built-in as these do.
