  • Is it a Special Buy, can't find it on their website?

    • prob the new catalogue. they release teh hard copies a day before they put them online.

    same price as G1W-CBBCBCBC ?

i guess you can return this within 2 years if broken ?

  • 6 built in infrared leds

    These don't do anything.

Always check out Dashcamtalk for reviews.

    • They do work, but only if you turn the camera around. Useful for 'gathering evidence of an incident' when you meet that dashing stranger and hormones take over, perhaps?

      • POV Cam?

        • Yes. Now everyone knows why we're smiling ;)

  • +1

I've used this dashcam before, I don't recommend it.

    • +3

      What was wrong/bad about it?

      • Video quality was crap, had to go through 3 as they tended to fail.

  • +4

I was going to get one, but it seems that the advice is to spend the extra $10 for a G1W-C. Poor quality, dies in hot weather, looks bad on your windscreen. Can anyone second this?

    • +1

All I'll say is that I've had a G1W-C for over a year and it has been flawless.

      • May I ask where you bought yours from?

Me and a friend of mine bought G1W-CB from GearBest and both suffered from the Reboot/Restart Loop issue. It's both under a year and within warranty but as fate would have it, we found that it can be a pain in the a*s to return items to GearBest.

      • same here

Definitely. For things like this, 3/4 of the cost is in setting it up. Scrimping to save a few pennies on the last 1/4 doesn't make a lot of sense. Still better than nothing if you don't have the dough, but I don't know how anyone could honestly be in that situation.

  • Get a Xiaomi one

    • And that will be $30+ more….

    • +1

Be careful of the Xiaomi in warm climates - better off with a capacitor rather than battery.

      Eg: G1WC, A118C, A119, A119s - I'm pretty happy with my A119

  • this is most likely a clone of the original DVR027 which isn't being made any more.

every clone of the original i've tried has been nothing short of severely disappointing. video quality and battery life is terrible, whereas the original was decent (i've got one still running from 2013).

if you want a dashcam like this, you can find much cheaper ones on ebay or aliexpress.

  • I have this cam - it works well no issues - however the suction doesn't hold - either i dont know how to apply it or its crap design - but every time in the car while driving it will just fall off and i let out a loud curse. So it just sits in the glove box now

  • Looks very similar to the Kogan one I had a while ago - which was an absolute piece of rubbish. Terrible video quality, and fell apart after a few months.

  • don't waste your money on it. 120 degrees are just not enough
    Footage quality is nothing
