P&O Pacific Eden Cairns 4 Night Whitsundays Cruise Single $293, Twin $145, Triple $114, Quad $97 (September 2017)

2150

Ridiculously cheap cruise price to a beautiful spot - whitsundays in winter is spectacular.

<$25 per night quad share
~$35 per night twin share

If we lived closer to Cairns I'd be on this in a jiffy

12 September 2017

4 Nights
Pacific Eden

Twin From $145 pp
Quad From $97 pp

I think it costs more that that for our family to sit at home and do nothing for 4 nights.

Hope someone is able to enjoy this one, cos I cant :(

Christ on a bike that's cheap

You really crossed a line with that comment.

      Fiesta deck…

    • +2

Maybe this deal will come back on sunday

      • +1

        This makes me really cross.

  • Yeah not sure how many they have available, but gee that's a steal

  • +12

$388 for 4 people in Quad.

Ridiculous pricing. $24.25 a night per person - includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Includes accommodation and electricity.

    AWESOME DEAL.

    • +11

This would make an awesome OzBargain meetup event venue

      • And an Ozbargain Roadtrip from Cairns.

  • +1

Sounds like a deal but what is the normal price? ;-p

    • Have been on P&O Pacific Eden, though our port of departure was Sydney. It cost us around 1300$ for a quad and that too we thought we got a special deal, so this price is totally out of world!

      • did you like this ship?

        • +1

Yeah it was nice for a first time cruiser, obviously not top of the range, but really good for a start and they do pay a lot of attention to keep their customer happy.

    • +3

      hi jv

  • Anyone been on a cruise can give me some suggestions? is it worth it?

    • +4

one meal will cost you more than what you pay for per night

    • +2

I think it is for sure. Cheaper than staying in a hotel by a long shot. Especially for a family of 4 at $97 each for 4 nights. Great deal.

    • +2

If you have the time off and are looking for something to do then absolutely for this price it's a no brainer. Will include all food for 4 days and if its anything like the cruise I went on the restaurants are amazing.

      • +1

I went on the Eden last year. The food was good, wouldn't call it amazing though.

Overall, this sounds like a great deal but keep in mind the Eden is at the lower end of cruise ship quality.

We had a good time on our short cruise late last year on the Eden and would certainly go again.

    • Thanks guys, $97 per night is good including the food.

    • +1

I've been on Carnival and Princess cruises. My experience is that they have buffets and formal dining.

    • +1

Absolutely worth it. Think lots of food/dining choices including some fine dining. Lots of activities organized on board to keep kids happy. And some parties organized for adults. And yes free child minding on top of that!

    • +1

      Food is OK.

If traveling with adults book the "Waterfront" every night for dinner. Book this the minute you walk on the boat otherwise you will miss out.

If with kids, maybe only go to the Waterfront a few times for dinner as it's a full on service sit down meal. Kids are happier at the Pantry where it's all you can eat buffet style food.

You can pay for other restaurants, but I didn't try any of them.

    • +1

book and go, its a bargain and worth it. lots of fun and food.

  • +1

AMAZING DEAL! If I'm not already taking 4 weeks off in October, I would take up this offer in a heart beat!

  • +2

Wow. I have just got off a P & O cruise last Saturday from Brisbane to New Caledonia and Vanuatu and at this price, considering what's included, it's an absolute bargain.

Isn't it almost school holidays in QLD then too?

    • Pacific Dawn?

      • yes

        • +1

Did that exact one a while ago :)

        • I loved it! Not a fan of Noumea though. Lifou and Port Vila were great.

    • I'm going on the same cruise in November.

Any tips? Any restaurants I need to book when I get there?

  • +15

I guess this will be a 99% ozbargain populated cruise

    • +3

  • Why am I starting a new job next week? :'(

  • How much are gratuities? Do they have to be paid also?

    • +5

      Not in Australia

    • none in Australian cruises.

  • +4

Looks like no vacancies for children

    • +13

I read that as vaccines 😅

    • It said that when I went to book a while back. I price matched through my travel agent and kids weren't a prob.

  • +4

$300+ for Jetstar return flights to Cairns.. would be tempting otherwise and would have gone by myself!

  • +1

All these travel deals and nothing from Syd

    • +1

There was a decent one a few days ago, $226 from Syd to Auckland. 4 nights. Nowhere near as good, and who wants to go to Nz north island in winter :(

  • +5

Finally a cruise for us cairnsians! Gonna try to go on this! Thanks op

  • +1

will suggest to take your alcohol with you if you going on this trip ………out of 4 days 2 days the ship is at sea, the charges for booze will be more than the trip.

    • +1

My staple is 2 bottles of 'coke', one darker than the other ;-)

      • +1

You can only take cans of soft drink on P&O - no bottles etc.

    • +1

you can add soft drinks package from P&O website. From memory it was 15$ or something for 4 days of drinks and unlimited.

    • You cannot take alcohol on board anymore, at all.

I was happy to buy the odd cocktail ($12) and bottle of wine $27 for the cheapest. Didn't need the premium package at all. I was traveling with kids so had to be a bit responsible.

    • +1

its not that bad, no more than restaurant or casino prices.

  • +2

Stunning cruise deal! but add on the find a flight to cairn return it end up similar to normal price. So miss!

    • +1

Because somehow if it was normal price you'd be teleported for free to Cairns?

      • probably. but where can we find a teleportation deal to cairns and also can return back alive?

  • Further to my last comment I have been advised that the band "Highly Strung" will also be on this cruise.

    http://www.highlystrungmusic.com.au/rock_and_roll_orchestra.…

My mother (in her early 70s) loved this band and by the end of the cruise I did last week they were extremely popular.

So for her, almost worth it just to see the band again.

  • ozbargain gathering onboard?

  • Thanks OP, organised a trip with 3 other mates!

  • I live in Cairns but am having surgery in September….grr

    • +1

      I think it has a sick bay…

Seriously though, hope it all goes according to plan.

  • the pantry for the win! i tried all the other restaurants which are great.. but im more a shovel my food sort of guy

  • At least you aren't paying a premium for the imminent gastro.

  • +1

This is a fantastic deal and you should take advantage of it if you can. Cocktails at $12 and beer from $6 is no worse than most places. The entertainment is great and the food also pretty good. Use the hand sanitization provided every chance you get and you'll have no problems. It's a great break for all ages and a great introduction to cruising to see if you like it, if you do you'll be hooked and there's no end of possabilities. We have not sailed on the Eden but have on her sister ship Aria as well as the larger Dawn and preferred the Aria so if we could grab this we would as the same deal from Brisbane on 19 Sep costs $680 each for a couple (cheapest) on the Dawn.

  • +1

    Thanks OP! Booked! :)
