Join 10 days Annapurna base camp trek (ABC Trek) starting from Pokhara, Nepal on 1st Nov 2017. The trek starts and ends in Pokhara. The package includes necessary trekking permits, trekking with a licensed and experienced guide and a porter, 3 meals a day with teahouse accommodation and private transportation to and back from trail head.
Annapurna base camp trek is the most popular trekking in Nepal. It starts from culturally rich and lively villages at the foothills of the Himalayas and reaches to the higher alpine valley surrounded with snow peaks all around. There are well established teahouses along the trail. This is moderately difficult trek only suitable for fairly fit people with previous experience of walking.

Trek Itinerary :
01 Nov: Drive 1 and half hrs and trek 4 hrs to Thikedunga 1,600 m
02 Nov: Trek 6 hrs to Ghorepani. 2,800 m
03 Nov: Hike to Pun Hill and back to Ghorepnai for breakfast. Later trek 5 hrs to Tadapani.
04 Nov: Trek 5 hrs to Chhomrong. 2,100 m
05 Nov: Trek 6 hrs to Dovan. 2,500 m
06 Nov: Trek 4 - 5 hrs to Deurali - 3,300 m
07 Nov: Trek 5 hrs to Annapurna base camp.
08 Nov: Trek back down to Bamboo. 6 - 7 hrs.
09 Nov: Trek back to Chhomrong and further down to Jhinu Danda for overnight stay.
10 Nov: Trek back to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara.

    October-November are fantastic months for trekking in Nepal. I would highly recommend Annapurna. Absolutely breathtaking.

  October and November is the best time of the year for the Annapurna base camp trek. There are people doing the trek throughout the year. Perpetual snow in Nepal or Himalaya is above 5,000 m unlike many other places. There will be snow at base camp only during winter ie is Mid Dec - early Feb. It is still possible to do the trek then as snow will be only about a feet at highest and will only be in the area near Annapurna base camp. There is at least one lodge open throughout the year. So it is also possible to trek during winter. In winter even though temperature drops, days are warm and sunny.

  March and April is another best time to do the trek. The Rhododendron blossoms give different color to the whole landscape then. Foothills of Annapurna has got the world's largest Rhododendron forest. However there could be avalanches in the higher reaches during Spring. There are certain points between the place called Himalaya - Machhapuchre base camp where the trail is made challenging by the avalanches.
