  • Does this one also deliver a total of 3.1A through the 3 USB ports, like the other one?

    • had a look at China's site. It's 5V 2.1A

  • Xiaomi products has been great for me so far, but their power strips sux, the earthing pin is upside down!!

    • This is the right way up in China, doesn't matter with the 3 socket/single row strip, but yes with this model if you are using plugs with a downward lateral trajectory or that square box type (that usually hang down) you will won't be able to fit them such a layout.

lol, complaining about the earthing pin is upside. Xiaomi power strips are designed for use in China, not in Australia.

    • It's a power board. Just turn it around?
edit: oops, it's the 6 way version!

      • I am talking about the plug the goes into the wall, normally the wire hanging down, this one is pointing up!

Oh well, if the design for Australians, that particular plug should be the right way around

I bought a HP tablet from DSE two years ago which came with an upside-down power adaptor. It's definitely local stock, so I guess direction doesn't matter for certification.

        • If you're an electrician or have an electrician friend, you could replace that plug with an Aus one. I've done that with my hifi system I bought from overseas.

EDIT: Also, China plugs don't have that protective bit of plastic over the pins like we do. So if a child were to pull it out of the socket, and touch the pins, that would be very, very bad.

        • @flaminglemon: Or if you allowed your kids to go anywhere near older electrical equipment and touch the perfectly legal old equipment without the protective plastic, that would be bad.

        • Get an electrician to turn all your power points upside down. Now will feel happy with the cable hanging down :)

    • That's because they are for Chinese homes and not Australian.

      • is there a difference anymore?

        • seems to be very subtle but important differences.
Like our pins have plastic insulation for protection and our pins are thicker.

It has stopped me from getting one of these.
But I may jump on it once I know my house wont blow up haha

  • Quote:: Concise and delicate as ornaments of the house ???

Seriously? Xiaomi must the special kid who sees this as an ornament

    • You make like you don't understand, they make patch boards just like making work of art to make life a little better.

I have one at home. It's very painful, maybe even a bit dangerous, to squeeze in 2 plugs in back to back, because the sockets are up side down for Aussie plugs. Personally, I wouldn't buy another one.

  • Thanks OP, will get some. Shame that this isn't a Wifi board though.

  • +2

I have this and it's very compact and the build quality is really good. But don't buy this if you're planning to use a wifi connected plug to control it remotely. It has a power switch but doesn't have a separate on/off switch toggle unlike his little brother (Power Strip 3), so it's always turned off every time you turn on the wifi plug as it doesn't save the power state.

  • I dont see this product on Xiaomi official website. http://www.mi.com/en/
    Is it legit?

  • Anyone know how it compares to the other one :

(apart from the extra plugs obviously)

    • +1

I have both, apart from the size and extra plugs, the only difference is the toggle on/off switch. (see my comment above)

  • I have a 3 point one, ideal for my Nvidia Shield and older Minix X8-H Plus. I have a couple of usb leads attached for emergency power updating of phones, controllers etc. They are great! Plug is only upside down on my Aussie Power Board but there is also a power switch on the board itself. I have a second non Xiaomi one which is perfect for my Mi WiFi extender.
