    • Umm what?

It comes with a UK-plug charger, not an Australian one.

I assume if they decide to fully launch it here, it'll come with an Australian charger.

  • Anyone got theirs delivered yet?

    • +1

I ordered Tuesday around 3 PM, it cleared China on Wednesday and today on Thursday, it arrived and is out for delivery around 1:55 PM. Waiting for it, can update when I get it. DHL is quite fast, I like them for their service

      • As of 2pm today mine is out with the driver.

I have gotten my right now around 3:50 PM. The packaging is really good and there was just a small dent to the box. Like 1 cm in length at the top. I love the unboxing and am glad they included a sim tool. Apparently the phone is dual sim? I honestly didn't know. No reviewer mentioned that. I inserted an optus and telstra sim and it asked me which for data, which for calls, which for sms. I just choose Telstra for now but can experiment later. Let me know how your experience turns out :)

        • @RandomDeviation:

Just received mine. I was aware it was dual sim but not a selling point for me.

I am sure this will live up to expectations. I love an unboxing especially taking the screen protector off for the first time :)

        • @czechboi: mines ETA 4th of September. Guess was procrastinating too much earlier this week.

        • Hopefully I could get mine tmr as stated by DHL

          @cloudie9:
Got it today! That was better than what was originally estimated. Good work DHL.

  • Can you guys with Telstra please let me know if VOLTE is working?
I am using LG G6 from one of those HK deals and VOLTE is not working.

    • Hey, In the icon manager there is a setting for VoLTE and VoWiFi. I have Telstra postpaid, how can I tell if VoLTE is working? Do I call my friend with Telstra prepaid or I have to find someone with postpaid only?

  • Good deal it's cheaper than eBay

  • Hi Rep, can you please confirm if buying from the Oneplus store entitles us a two year warranty of the phone? I don't seem to see this on the website any more, I am sure it was there.

    They've restocked.

Received mine on Sunday to replace my refurbished LG G4 (bootloop) that has been having overheating and battery problems. Been using this OnePlus 5 for the past few days and loving it.

    • May I ask, what size did you get and how much of it is usable? Kinda regretting not getting the 128gb

      • How much left on your storage? I got the 64gb. Downloaded all the app I will be using, some games, some photos, only 15gb used our of 5x gb.

      • I got the 128gb version.

With a few videos, games and all the apps I use installed - it says I've used 12.75gb/111gb.

  • Very temping, but this or the S8 + for $725 from Shopmonk eBay deal?

Warranty is probably better on this (2 yr vs 1)

    Better OS (stock android)

    Any other thoughts?

    • Got a reference to a deal for a S8+ for $725? Current Shopmonk price is $999 on ebay (before any 10% off deals I think are on) and $799 on their store.

If you want a decent screen with incredible battery and performance, this is it. If you want a good camera and not an "alright" one, get something else

  • Never settle guys and girls.

  • Got the OP5 yesterday. Took only 48 hours from order. Got 7 hours and 15 mins screen on time on the first day! This isnt something I've seen since I put a custom kernel on my note 2 years ago. Speed of the phone is outrageous. Audio quality is excellent and drive my audio technica mh-50 headphones like a champ. Here's the sore spot that will make me return the phone. It's the camera. major let down. Low light is bad. Weird artificial image smoothing to hide camera shake. Makes images look like paint in a bad way.

    • During the day, its really good but during night time I see the artifacts too. I have heard setting the ISO and Shutter speed to certain settings make it much better at night. The question is how much exactly are you gonna use it? If its more than 2 photos a day, then you might consider returning. Otherwise, its a good phone. I have the S8 Plus and the camera is amazing with the display but the fingerprint scanner and Samsung UI sucks. Oh yeah, the One Plus fingerprint scanner is lightning speed. Imagine how many times you unlock your phone a day.

      • Touchwiz is very average, true.I agree with you that some people can live without the camera quality but I'm downgrading my camera from a nexus 6p which is already a 2 year old phone. Thing is, it becomes a nagging issue over time. For example, You will be at a friend's backyard birthday or family event at night and you'll go to snap a shot and you have a pile of noise and weird artefacts all over the image and you will be frustrated knowing that you had a better camera before. I can't drag my SLR everywhere I go.

I placed my order for the OnePlus 5 128gb storage/8gb RAM model at about 1am Wednesday last week after reading every ozbargain comment here, and researching for a few hours. It had arrived by Friday!

It is easily the best performing phone I have ever used or owned. The fingerprint scanner works instantaneously, just as the screen off gestures do. No one needs 8gb of RAM in Android, but it sure doesn't hurt anything. Currently I have 2.8gb free memory…

I got a kick out of looking up the price of an equivalent specced iPhone 7 Plus, and learning it costs over twice the price as this OnePlus 5. I've never been more sure I got the right device for me. I'd been waiting to see the Nokia 8 before committing, but I honestly couldn't be happier with the OP5.

      Happy to read this :)

  • Got mine over the weekend. Only took about 2-3 days from ordering.
Incredible performance on the device. Great battery life, camera is a solid 7/10, no Pixel/Samsung/iOS camera but not bad either. The sandstone case is really nice too. Pretty happy all round.

Surprisingly though, I didn't get an Australian adapter for the UK plug, thought it was meant to come with one. Not sure if that's the case with everyone, or they missed it in my packaging.

    • I don't think it supposes to come with one. I didn't get it either.

      • Strange. Figured they'd throw one in like Kogan/other grey importers do, especailly given that they're selling specifically for AU with a website for us and everything.

        • Shame but they didn't. A few people just grabbed a VOOC of Oppo from Ebay, as they said VOOC of Oppo and Dash of OP is the same tech.

        • @johnnyle: Yep, thanks!

      Australia Soft Launch
Does the OnePlus 5 come with an Australian charger?

Unfortunately, the OnePlus 5 does not come with an Australian charger. It comes with a UK Type G plug charger.

@devpods 'Figured they'd throw one in like Kogan/other grey importers do'

They are they manufacturers, not some grey import website. Offering you 15 days return is already a good deal.

      • I'm not questioning whether or not its a good deal.
I'm also not saying that I'm expecting an Australian charger, I'm talking about a $2 adaptor, would have been a nice touch.

        • What you say does make sense. But imagine if they put a cheap adapter in the box and one day it malfunctions and causes burns to you or sets your home on fire, how do you think their Australian launch will go then? Its cheaper for them not to put that adapter in the box legally and even cheaper not to modify their charger until they sell the first bunch of phones here. They want to sell the phones at a low price like 699$ and later on, they win their money back again when you purchase the Australian charger from them. The best thing they can do, for us and not them, is to offer us to replace our UK chargers with AU ones when they come here. But that's a long shot.

        • Guys where do you get a $2 adaptors? Any recommendations (in officeworks and jb hi-fi they are much more expensive).

        • @vasya: I got some of mine from garage sale, or on ebay.

  • Anyone in Perth will be getting one? Can you help me to get the headphones pls? If you can, pls let me know here or drop me a message pls. TIA.

  • Looking at getting one, Does this phone need a screen protector to protect from scratches or is scratch resistant to an extent?

    • +1

It comes with screen protector already on it from the factory. My wifes phone still has it on and it has picked up a few little scratches but nothing noticeable

    • It comes with a weak plastic screen protector which does the job as long as you don't scratch it. The screen itself is scratch resistant so you don't really need a protector.
