NOTE - Comments on Whirlpool are not favourable for Linksys (Cisco) modems. Haven't had any experience with them myself but alway thought that Cisco was a reliable Brand. Anyway, seems like a good price & is worth considering. Cheers.

  • price????

  • according to ad… price= $65 pickup or $69 delivered

  • Sorry guys. It's my first post. Edited now.

Price seems to be $84. How do you apply the code? I created an account but couldn't see an option.

$84 isn't the cheapest price around, so would be interested to know the full price.

edit: nevermind. I was searching while you updated :) $65 seems quite good.

  • I was going to buy it until I read some of the whirlpool comments. Thanks though. Good price.

  • Can you confirm Annex M functionality? (in Australia of course)
My previous modem "supported" annex m, but the firmware didn't implement it (correctly).

Note: Wireless N "LITE" (150mbps max)

Definitely a bargain, can likely resell on eBay for minor profit if the device doesn't suit your needs.

"Last three digits on signature panel" - Whoa, refreshing change, but confusing after only seeing CCV/whatever the other acryonym is.
No box to enter promo code, but price via the included link is $69 with optional $2.35 insurance.

    Purchased one.

At this price it'll be interesting to see how weak the processor is when thrown a score of usenet streams (off-peak), a score of chat protocol connections (3 people, 6+ devices), gaming (HoN&SC2, a small amount of voip usage (via an spa2102) and the odd torrent. Our current Billion 7300 (~$50, non-wireless) handles it alright, up to 3 weeks uptime, generally needs a restart on a weekly basis as services such as dhcp like to die and when large latency to the first hop (router) makes gaming impossible. Wireless N lite with no external antenna will be interesting to test with a Netbook, HTC Desire (rooted, wireless n kernel module) and iPhone4. I sincerly hope it can't do worse than a PoS D-Link which often only provides 1-3 bars at about 8m range.

  • Ah well, not for me. Doesn't have WOL.

  • DO NOT BUY this…. seems they're flogging a dead horse to get rid of a problem….

    http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Cable-and-DSL/Wag120n-prob…

I was interested until I read the above!

I know Cisco own Linksys but, Linksys still make it… poor man's Cisco.

Buy a Cisco device if you want it to work.

    • +2

Linksys make fine networking products; always have, always will.

I've been using their products for years without any issues. Currently got the WAG-160N and it's working fine.

I hardly believe 1 forum post is enough to label them a "poor man's Cisco" - Cisco make enterprise grade equipment, with the associated price… They bought out Linksys because they make great home/office equipment to compliment them.

      • -1

It maybe one forum but, how many unique people commented having the same issue? Did you actually read it? there were more than a few.

I hoped that Linksys would be better after Cisco purchasing them.

If your willing to burn $69 on the router….

        • Several people complaining? That's what forums are for (apparently).
I could pick several threads on whirlpool for completely different modems and users within will think their problems are all the same. The quality of writing and grammar by users in the Cisco thread leaves much to be desired, further indicating it's less educated users experiencing problems.

People in technical forums, generally post with negatives, rather than praise. There are certainly more people happy with their purchase than the several unhappy in the cisco thread. Unless you have personal experience to contribute, or official response or reviews evidencing the issue?

And if you are unhappy with a bargain like this - you can resell it on eBay for more than you've
          "burnt" on it.

tldr: Burn? It's ebay resale value is slightly higher.

  • I've been using this Modem for 6 months now…no problems.
The wireless strength isn't the greatest, but it does the job.
The bundled software is a pain in the ass though, wouldn't recommend using that.

  • •Double the speed of G
    so only a N130 product…not 300mbps

  • I've got the 120N - same product without the adsl2+

BE CAREFUL this is not true N speed, its N draft, not N certified. Allegedly it can do upto N speed.

However has a normal G router, it works fine. I have had no issues. I think i've reset it once in the 6 months ive had it.

It also has quality of service (QoS) :)

  • For the price its a good product. Billion Wireless N ADSL Modem/router is about 180 so for price this is a bargain.

  • Wag160n works a treat 4 me - atleast 6 months use no problems.

    • this is a WA120N, not a WA160N. 160N is a higher model

  • Received today.

Annex M works, 1mbit upstream to 2mbit now! Same 13.5mbit downstream.

Wireless signal is weak as stated (a crappy d-link 'just' outperforms it), however I did see my smartphone at 72mbit the other night. Netbook probably doesn't have right driver for wireless n atm.

  • Instead of a WAG120N ADSL2+ Modem Router they sent me a Linksys WRT120N Router. Not happy about this. Now I have to go through the hassle of getting it replaced :/
