[STEAM] Doom 3, Return Castle Wolfenstein, Quake II for A$1.55 each (US$1.23) OR Dishonored A$3.12 (US$2.48)

640

Not as cheap as some of these have been previously but thought these were some good prices for those who missed out or just wanting to add some older but decent games to their Steam library. Doom 3 is only the vanilla version (not the BFG edition) but should be sufficient for those wanting to spend as little as possible on the game. Other notable titles:

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: $1.55AUD

Quake II: $1.55AUD

Dishonored: $3.12AUD

Most of the Quake games are also 75% off at the moment - should they take your interest.

Maybe I can help you justify one of those purchases. Check out a total conversion mod for quake 1 called "arcane dimensions". Played it earlier this year. Pretty damn easy to get up and running and it's top tier stuff!

Looks nice. Takes me ba k when i was moding quake one and two and making levels for both. Had so much fun doing it and the story behind it.

I'm not sure what your circumstances were growing up but I couldn't afford most of these games as a kid. The way I think about it is that I've now legitimately purchased something I was using for free years ago! So these are now like small overdue bills that I am paying for!

If you can look past the outdated graphics, some older games play considerably well. I just can't vouch for all those games you've bought though.

      • These are the best games and the replay ability is huge; can't say that of many released now

    • Could of bought Bethesda Softworks Classics Superbundle and got most of those in the pack.

      • yeh but 13USD vs 60USD is a pretty fkn big price gap. not much in the bethesda pack really tickles my balls if you know what i mean

Why won't they release Wolfenstein 2009 on PC !!!!!!!!!

    I loved that game.

    • Yes, I wanted to purchase this on steam some months back but sadly I found the only way was via torrent. Still plays perfectly though and I even moded it so the enemies are harder like in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I played it again recently and its still awesome, one of my favorite games ever!

      • Mmm find a torrent or pay $114 on Ebay?

        • You ban borrow my code if you like.

used to love playing enemy territory back in the day

  • For Doom-3:

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
    OS: Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP (Does not support Windows Vista/7)

Is that true? Same for Quake 2 ?

I recently purchased Doom 3 from the BundleStars deal, have had no trouble running on my Windows 10 desktop but YMMV.

      • Thanks! Kid's birthday present sorted.

Doom 3 was THE deadly benchmark game back when I built my first PC, good times.

would be nice to finally see what it looks like on max settings actually…

      I feel old.

Striker Commander gobbled up my godly 32mb of RAM, and made my 3d card look average at best. Still got me hard.

      "Look at the graphics!"

I remember ATI leaked the beta/demo which I tried and destroyed my gpu.

    • I thought Far Cry 1 was the gaming benchmarking test back in the day?

it was definitely one of the standards along with Half-Life 2 - but they were both pretty forgiving compared to Doom 3 which probably had the most ridiculous max settings that side of Crysis.

        • Wow, I totally forgot about Half Life 2. Damn, 2004 was a great year for FPS game releases.

        • yeah, the gravity gun was mindblown.gif

          good times

and of course there was Unreal Tournament 2004 as well.

  • I bought the Doo 3: BFG Pack for USD 4.99, good to have Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 in one pack

Do yourself a favour and get Wolfenstein if you haven't played it, absolutely great game

      • did you buy return? I haven't played the newer ones.

        • +1

    Does someone is playing online?

  • Haven't bought anything from Steam in ages.. Can someone confirm if you're charged the extra 10% GST now? Still not sure how that whole thing works. Not that it matters on these prices, i'm just curious.

    • No GST is charged on top of the price, you just pay what it says. But remember all prices are in US dollars.

  • Here you go…

    Bethesda Softworks Classics Superbundle

Though the list missed Quake4, just add to complete the series.
