  • The oneplus 5 deal from the other day is better given the specs

If you can live without band 28, the Moto Z Play comes close at $300 , no?

This has a far better camera and updates from google, worth the extra IMO. It is however going to be outdated in a couple of months if that matters to you.

Yes, Motorola can be slow on the updates. But they don't muck up the interface too much, unlike Samsung et al.

      • Dodgy bluetooth, random reboots, warranty gets second hand devices, breaks features in future updates. Hmmm….

      • It is however going to be outdated in a couple of months

Since when does an updated model make it's predecessor outdated?

        • I think the word he's looking for is "superseded".

      • You also get unlimited photo uploads to Google drive for pixel owners.

  • $799 at Jb Hi Fi - if concerned about warranty etc.

but for those where cash is king this is a good deal currently :)

    This phone isn't worth $700.

  • 32gb with no expandable storage is starting to get a bit too small these days I reckon. I don't regard myself as a huge phone user but once I have a few google play playlists downloaded for offline use, same for a few YouTube vids and the normal assortment of apps you end up downloading to a smart phone I am over 32gb by a fair bit. Would be next to useless for anyone even remotely wanting to use their phone in any sort of offline environment such and planes and road trips in and out of phone coverage.

    • once I have a few google play playlists downloaded for offline use, same for a few YouTube vids

I'm surprised. 1000 songs is only a few GB, and a few hours worth of SD video similar.
If you want more movies etc, you can use a USB-OTG cable and thumb drive to copy them across.
