    Anyone used this site before?

These prices seem crazy good (as in too good to be true) and they're meant to be a fancy dress stockist so it's odd they have 2XU gear.

I can't find any reviews for the site either.

    My Spidey sense is tingling…

    • Under clothing is very useful in costuming, and if it's compression it makes it easier to wear some costumes over the top. This gear could be an alternative to full body suits for things like Stormtrooper or Darth Vader gear etc.

Sure, but these aren't everyday tights. 2XU is not something you'd buy to wear under fancy dress. It's expensive! The tights are usually around $150.

There is a heap of "2XU" gear on AliExpress for ~$10 per garment. I'm assuming that's what this site is on selling.

In short, it's fake. There's no doubt in my mind.

    • My thoughts as well. Prices are too good to be true. But if the site is legit this is great deal.

    • I've bought from the site before when it was operating under Delta's Dazzling costumes. No idea if the 2XU is fake or not though.

  • My thoughts to. 2xu are very selective with their stockists

  • If this is the Ashmore (QLD) business then the business is legit but I would expect they are selling Chinese fake 2XU

  • Plus they're not even highlighting the significant discounts to rrp..I'm with you guys.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck…………………….FAKE

    • but superman flys like bird and he is not duck

      • +3

Umm, a duck is a mammal, not a bird

        • What?

        • ?

        • An egg-laying mammal, so a duck is actually a Monotreme.

        • @GregRust: a duck is actually a Monotreme.

          @altomic:

          The very same.

      • He does not look like a bird, or swim like a bird and does not make bird sounds, so he cant be a bird. The test is "AND" not "OR"

Yeah the fake stuff is readily available on eBay and other places… seems a bit fishy.

  • Serious question here - if the item is made of the same material, what would be different about original 2XU compared to the fake/no brand products?

    • +2

      Quality control.

I can make a cake with the same ingredients as Adriano Zumbo but I guarantee mine won't look or taste the same.

Stitching, wear, elasticity, sizing/fit etc. All of these things could be of poor quality with a cheap knockoff.

      • +1

All of those are possible - but if quality control means they wear out x2 faster but the name brands are x4+ in price - I don't see the benefit. I was more thinking about what they are designed to do - wouldn't they effectively achieve the same result - ie compression?

        • Maybe initially but could stretch over time.

      • Maybe, or it could be they both come out off the same factory and you're just not paying the 2XU "extortion" fee.

I bought a jacket from 2XU official store and the rep mention fakes popping up now, so ill stay away from this

ordered - if its fake (I have plenty of original 2XU gear to compare it to when it arrives) I will notify PayPal and reverse the transaction

Would you mind either reporting on what you find here or send me a direct message?

      • +1
digitallane, it would be much appreciated if you could post your results once you've received your order. Cheers!

    • Problem is if you say it's fake you may have to prove it as per PayPal's rules, pick another reason.

    • +1

      if it's fake

I think PayPal will need to verify it as fake by obtaining a signed letter with letterhead from 2XU, which means you'll probably have to send the garment to them. Sounds like a fair bit of hassle.

      • I know people at 2XU pretty well, so if these guys screw me - I'll be letting them know….

        • If you know them pretty well, ask them if this is a licenced supplier.

        • yeah, id be very interested to know. i bought some leggings for my wife and some shorts for myself using this deal before all the comments about fakes popped up. i would love to know if you can find out if they are legit or not. or if they are a registered re-seller.

    • Ditto, grabbed two. Lets see how it goes. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they have a .com.au address and use paypal.

while theyre fake, are they good fakes ?

  • +1

I emailed them and got this response:

"Our pants are the non-elite version which basically means they are an older style.
We were able to purchase a huge bulk lot from an Auction that is left over stock from a major sports retailer.
    Hope this helps you."

Up to you if you take their word for it :)

    • its possible. I bought some 2XU stuff at the 2XU Town Hall sales - got $300 tri suits for $50

Maybe Amart Sports closing down might be the source of the stock?

Received my 4 pairs today and can see with almost 100% certainty they are fake.

To be fair - they are pretty good fakes though - but the material seems thinner than originals. Also compression material doesn't feel like its present and labels aren't right.

Arguably they are worth $30 if you want to have something comfortable to train in and pretend you're wearing the real thing - but don't expect any of the benefits of true compression
