Norwegian Air is offering direct flights from Singapore to London Gatwick for $149SGD one way and $430SGD return. The outbound from Singapore is $149SGD and the inbound is $281SGD.

Flights are via the 787 Dreamliner. The bad side is that these fares don't include bags, seat selection & food. Bags are $45 each way. If you want bags, food and seat section you are better selecting the LowFare+ option which adds about $90 on to the fare each way. Still a good price.

A quick check for matching Melbourne - Singapore flights shows $318 AUD Return or $179 One way.

    Wowsers. Good price.

  • Only 20kg of luggage on the LowFare+? Bit tight! Good deal otherwise though.

Makes it cheaper for me to go find Wenger/Kroenke and rip into them!

Am feeling the pain buddy! Wenger Out!

Let's just charter a plane, I'm sure we'll fill it with angry Aussie gooners.

    • wenger out, agree

      its a joke

  • $720 from Syd (same dates, no bags) ($315 scoot tix)

  • From Sydney significantly cheaper (>$40) if you book Scoot via Expedia and other resellers (I've never booked budget airlines via re-sellers because the savings were normally low and I'm a scaredy-cat).

These deals are good for me but maybe not worth the risk of missing a connection for a normal person with luggage and food. If you miss a connection in Singapore despite leaving ample time then you might be able to afford a few hundred for a last minute flight to Vietnam or Thailand. But last minute flights to London would cost more than this deal alone.

Just book so that you have a whole day in Singapore to have a look around.

This. The airport offer free city tours.

      • Though statistically unlikely, leaving within 36 hours isn't guaranteed either (technical problems, weather problems etc are unpredictable).

I always mix-and-match LCCs but I'm prepared to holiday in a random destination should something go wrong or pay the price. I know a lot of families can't be bothered with the risk because I tell them about these flight hacks all the time and not one has taken the risk yet.

Though to be honest I don't find Singapore or Kuala Lumpur that interesting anymore because of this habit. I need a new half-way point.

I made an account just to comment - cheers, this deal is insane.

By the way, it looks as if it's a problem with the Norwegian Air website. If you change the price into any other currency beside $SGD, the price doubles/triples. Still though, as long as you don't use an Amex you can book in SGD so it's all good.

    Thanks again!

  • Flying this combination in a couple of weeks, was chuffed to get away with ~$850 a few months ago.

    This is a cracking deal.

Cheaper to fly back from Oslo or Stockholm so could do a multi stop trip.

Can fly Manchester to Oslo on Ryan air etc.

Or fly lgw to Iceland to Stockholm for ~ 200 bucks on wow airlines plus ~ 400 on Norwegian into lgw and out of Stockholm
All in ~ 1k to see London, Iceland and Sweden

  • Moving to London during this period, but need x 2 bags which is quadruple the price!

    • I found if I had a one way flight and called up to explain I was moving permanently, airlines gave me extra luggage allowance.

      • Really? I would've thought they'd try to make you pay for it. Can you share which airlines?

        • Flew with Thai and Korean airlines. This was back in the day of 20kg though. But it doesn't hurt to call up and ask even if you already get 30kg.

  • Remember for the Scoot leg, you can get Jetstar to price beat as well for an extra 10%
    http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/price-beat-guarantee

We did this in Feb when Scoot had their sale on, no problems.

  • Just booked, still going on. Reckon I'm gonna est like a pig in Singapore, ready to survive 14 hours of 50 dollar meals… My carry on is going to be a laptop and 6kg of nuts :)

  • Is anyone flying from Sydney to Singapore? Have you found any decent tickets <$400? Cheers.
