Have to say that Gearbyte is awesome with issues after buying and it's really convenient having them close by (I live in Melbourne and they're in the Glen Waverley area). I had an issue with my vacuum not charging properly and they were happy for me to bring it in and replace it on the spot. For me, the extra $10 was definitely worth it!

how long is your order processing time? bought a s8+ couple of days ago and still showing processing, order number 100001340. Not complaining but wondering, since you did super fast delivery with qc35.

I can't comment on the vendor but the vacuum is very good. It's a bit like a dalek though - it can't go up and down stairs. Once they figure that out I'm sure they'll take over the world. (-;

I will wait for the second generation. Apparently, they're gonna release some new products on 11/09. 2nd generation robot vacuum is highly likely to be one of them.

They released the new vacuums today and I ordered one directly from Xiaomi already at RMB2299 (AUD 433 roughly) . New product will be available for sale in October-November.My friend who works at Xiaomi told me that for their popular products, they try to come up with a new generation every year. Like Iphones but with vacuum machine.

It also comes with this new function where you can select the area for the robot to sweep, better sensor, expended dust box capacity, better suction power and longer battery life etc etc. Excited.@goldenholiday: oh damn so this new robot is much better than gen 1 in every way or just a minor improvement with the mopping feature (which I personally don't need).

Expanded dust bin and higher suction power alone would make me rethink buying a gen 1 over a gen 2 right now.
I might not use the select the area function as much except maybe to just initially play with it as I will let it cover pretty much the whole house maybe minus the bathroom and maybe kitchen if there is a lot of kitchen scraps.
I am just wondering does the vacuum come with a virtual wall as I may need one or two for a stair case and maybe bathroom if it gets too wet but definitely for a stair case which is connected to the kitchen so maybe two birds with one stone.
