About 17.5kwh per year. Thats about $18 a year in SA and $10 in other states
SA pays $1 per kWh? I'm in Vic and I only pay around 21c per kWh.

Why do you keep harping on about this? As noted in the comments of plenty of other GH deals you've posted in, this is the exception and not the norm with plenty of OW stores now catching on that the units they are price-matching are US devices and refusing.
It's great that you are managing to do this with what I imagine is up near 20 GH devices for you now but not everyone is as lucky.

Bluetooth speakers such as the newest generation JBL ones and the JBL Flip 3 do a fair bit of stuff that Google Home does with the latest firmware update. Personally don't have a use for one.
That being said great price and not long before it hits the 100 buck mark i bet. Makes buying at full retail price (apart from local warranty),a bit of a head scratcher.

Tried to price match/beat at OfficeWorks and JB Hi-Fi but failed. Might have to give in and order from this deal.
Just tried 4 different Officeworks stores. All refused based on it not having a Google warranty according to Shopmonk's website.

And they will listen to the usual boring conversations most of us have and give up. Not being a spy or drug dealer myself I seriously doubt anyone cares about my conversations or most of us mortals conversations either.

Just got one. No idea what I'll do with it, but my 16 million color remote controlled lightbulb feels far too obsolete, so I need this. Would love if someone could recommend some uses for this other than turning on lights when I can't pull my arm from under my GF to turn the lights off.
Maybe I'll place my old phone in front of the air-conditioning and hope I can trigger something to make Tasker send an ir blast to turn it on or something 😶

Arrived with just US plug. Are we meant to get an AU adapter from Shopmonk? Seems weird that an AU shop wouldn't provide an adapter

why not just contact Shopmonk? Seems the more logical thing to do. Paypal will as ask you if you contacted Shopmonk first anyway.

I am wondering how long before this is in everyone's homes and then government does have to develop zero-day hacks into your TV anymore. Instead it will be like what they are trying to do now with secure messaging and force companies like Google and Amazon to let them tap straight into your Google home or Alexa instead

Should be able to do most things. The Google Home app is the core, and it's same as android.

Gonna return the VK Retro Mini DAB+ Radio bought from Costco a coupla weeks ago (eats replaceable batteries- four fresh AA alkaline batteries last about an hour). A no-brainer channelling the refund of &79 into the Google Home.

I'm still tinkering with it to configure Tune-In Radio to play (has a list of such services- including Tune-In on the carton)Bought it out of a whim; now gotta browse around to learn how to put it to good use.
BTW, I personally find the music/speech quality and the microphone sensitivity pretty spot on.
No problem in understanding - both ways.If you open TuneIn on your phone you should be able to chromecast it. Works for mine.

Yes; I could chromecast music from the phone's Tune-In app to the GHome device.But how do I get to enable the Home to control what's playing on Tune-In app via voice commands?
Eg:- Consider the station "Groove salad" is playing on Home via Chromecasted Tune-In. How can I get Home to act on my voice commend to change the station to say- "Space Station Soma"?

That I’m not certain of - I haven’t fiddled with it much yet. I mainly use it to stream my own music that’s stored in Google Play Music.
