2017 Nintendo New 2DS XL - $149.95 + Delivery (or $0 Click and Collect) at The Gamesmen

960

Cheapest price i've seen at the moment for the newly released Nintendo 2DS XL.

Delivery looks to be about $6.95 in Sydney or free pickup from their store.

Also available:
* White/Orange - https://www.gamesmen.com.au/console-2ds-xl-new-white-orange-…

UPDATE: 03/09 - Only White/Orange seem to be in stock at this point in time.
04/09 - All stock looks to be gone at this point. Congrats to everyone who got one. Ironically I actually was too slow to get one. So if anyone has changed their mind I'd be happy to buy it off them :P

    i wonder if any flash carts are compatible with the new 2ds

    • Custom Firmware is where it is at.

      Sky3DS+ work apparently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=120&v=2MceQPDVak…

      • I have this and a sky 3ds. Works fine

          Any soldering or hardware modification needed or simply flashing software. I am considering getting this. Thank you

        • @xpllmmff:

          I just spotted this (new?) exploit. Thinking about it grabbing this deal and giving it a a go myself.

          @xpllmmff:
          Nah, none of that; I bought the sky3ds+ and a micro sd card (the one provided was terribly slow and small), updated the sky3ds+ firmware (can be found on their website download page), downloaded whatever rom (roms are a .3ds file extension), then just put in flashcart and play.

          Though I would avoid online play until you get a private header, there have been cases where nintendo have blocked users from online play because of duplicate headers.

        • @lafriel:that's great. Thank you mate. Would get one

          @xpllmmff: Flashcarts are a thing of the past, they're going to get patched out at some point just like all other DS/DSi/3DS one in the past. Get a cheap NTRboot compatible DS one and use it to install the CFW, they're going to be cheap until the method gets popular. At some point you'll get a game that needs a new firmware, but you can't upgrade because it'll block your cart.

          Or just get a New 3DS XL second hand off Cash Converter or Gumtree or something and use Soundhax, chances are it'll be on 11.3 or even lower since its been sitting on the shelf for a while. The Sky3DS+ is another 100 or so on top of the purchasing price, for 250 you can get a mint looking one anywhere

          @xpllmmff:

          Nope. Just pop in the cartridge. Works fine.

        • @xpllmmff:

          Also remember "Before beginning the guide, you must know the risks of 3DS hacking: EVERY time you modify your system, there is always the potential for an UNRECOVERABLE brick. They’re rare, but still a possibility so make sure you follow ALL directions EXACTLY."

          Which is why I chose to use sky3ds. Plug and play. No risk of a 200 dollar brick

        • @aimon: The guide is easy for a 5 year old with basic reading ability to follow. Only chance of a brick is if you don't follow properly.

      Doesn't work for the New-2DS-XL , only the New-3DS-XL .. so if you get this your Missing out on the Free games from the hack and the 3D feature ..Unless you pay for a sky3ds+ , which is $110+ AU or NTR hack which is hard and annoying for normal people

      • Incorrect. It does work on the new 2DS XL. You need an R4 gold RTS flashcart ($20) to load the exploit. The guide is very easy to follow.

        • So if I source this particular R4 card and then follow the guide from mskeggs I can have my daughter's new 2DS XL running something that can play non cartridge games?

    I disable the 3D functionality on my 3DS at all times, 2DS XL would have been ideal for many people… 3 years ago.

      Ewww you have Inferior eyesight , I only use 3D because 3D is bloody awesome

      • Hey I love VR, I found the 3DS 3D a distraction rather than helping immersion. No negs from mw BTW.

  • I have this. It's a really good.

      Games are so different, I got the PSP and I played the DS 5x more often. Even with the PSP hacked so I didn't have to buy any games, I didn't play it much. Just Patapon and Lumines 2. I didn't get the Vita and stuck with the 3DS and don't regret it.

    I feel like getting this, but I already have a Switch. EHHHH, BUT POKEMON…

    $19 shipping to Brisbane. Or $73 express. Ouch.

  • How much is RRP

  • +6

    Hey look, it bends again and isn't an ugly slate

  • Hmm may need this for the new metroid remake.

  • Anyone know what version of firmware it comes with?

    • 11.4 AFAIK. Doesn't matter, NTR hacks work even for 11.5 .

    I suggest only buying the New-3DS-XL for your kids, The will thank you for the amazing 3D feature "only people with eye problems complain about it" Also you can hack the 3DS for free games using this guide Http://3ds.guide , The 2DS cannot be hacked atm "atleast not easily" for more details look in the 3DS forums at https://gbatemp.net/

      Incorrect regarding not being hacked easily.

    Isnt this the same as 3ds? I thought the sell ppint of 2ds is that is doesnt have the silly hinge and flip thing.

    They ruined the 2ds design.

  • Just letting you know they are Out of Stock of the Blue and Turquoise at the moment. The Orange and White one still has stock as of me posting this comment.

  • Is it still region locked? :( I just want to play dragon quest 11

  • Prefect. Just ordered. Only $8 shipping.

  • Made an order yesterday night for the black and blue while it was out of stock. Called them this morning and asked when they would be able to get more stock. They said their website stock numbers are weird and that they're trying to get it fixed as they had about 20 sitting on the shelf. He told me I was able to pick it up today for $150 as long as I had placed the order yesterday and any other orders after that would be back to the original $200 price.
