      • Dammit rates ends before Cherry Blossom season. :(

        • Sadly only for low season. They will be at 100% occupancy during Cherry Blossoms so no for them to discount rooms then :(

South Korea, Japan and Guam. Why do these 3 countries remind me about North Korea…

    • I had exactly the same thought!

    • +11

Does the Flash sale involve you going up in a flash at all? Do the cheap airlines involve military aircraft?

      • +1

        Free fireworks, bargain.

Make sure your travel insurance includes death/injury/delays from missiles.

Obviously these comments are mostly not serious, but insurances will generally exclude war and acts of terrorism

  • This is hilarious

I think this is a pretty pathetic stunt from Hilton.
There are millions of people in those countries who genuinely fear that the short fat madman with the shocking haircut is going to wipe them off the map.
I like Hilton but this is poor form.

    • +1

Someone needs to relax…. If you knew Hilton smh

    • +8

This is an annual sale. Hilton have had this sale penned in for these dates for the past several years.
Not their fault some 'short fat madman with a shocking haircut' suddenly wants to launch missiles.

    • What's wrong with short fat people with cheap haircuts?

  • +24

Surprised they didn't call it THE REALLY BIG FLASH Sale :)

    • Apparently someone's reported this as a Targeted offer. Duck!

Edit: and the deal expires tomorrow. Do the countries?

    • Celebrate new year with a bang.

With no mention in the title. It also includes Thailand,Maldives and Bali, poor marketing form Hilton.
Paris Hilton must be at the helm of their marketing department.

They have APAC (Asia Pacific & China) region sales advertised separately.

Came in here simply for the comments. What an incredibly funny coincidence. I wouldn't be booking to far in advance…

Newbie here. Just want to contribute to the ozbargain community. We availed of the same offer back in May for our holiday last month. Stayed 2 nights in Hilton Tokyo while the remaining 8 nights were spent in other hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I found Hilton Tokyo to be really nice compared to the other hotels we stayed in (Richmond Premier Asakusa, Hotel Gracery Kyoto, Remm Shin Osaka). The room is much, possibly 2x, larger. The rooms looks high quality as well as the lobby. The buffet breakfast is nothing special though it was complimentary so we might as well use it. I recommend eating out if it is not free in this instance. Lastly, location is not that convenient since it is near Nishi-Shinjuku Train Station. You will have to transfer to a different train line when you want to go to Shibuya or Tokyo station. All in all, I recommend Hilton hotels though you might want to check if there are better located hotels in other cities. Hope this helps

    • +2

      I agree.

Its a bit of a trek to the nearest station, although there is an underground pathway which is nice. Also it seems to be located in the business district of Shinjuku so night life is pretty dead around there if you are going for holiday reasons.

      • How does the Hilton Conrad compare?

        • not sure. I've never stayed there

        • Much much better. One of the more favoured Conrads in the world.

        • @jayz:

Awesome. Now I just need to convince the CFO to allow me to spend $1200 per night on our visit to Japan.

        • @nightelves:

Going to book a suite? :)

        • @jayz:

Nah that's how much each room cost during Cherry Blossom season.

        • @nightelves:

I see. Also keep in mind there is 1 Conrad, and 3 Hilton hotels in Tokyo (Hilton Tokyo Bay, Hilton Odaiba, Hilton Tokyo). I would probably rank them in that order as well.
Conrad is still the pick. Close to both JR Shinbashi and Yurikamone Line. Also walking distance to Tsukiji Fish Market and Ginza as well.

        • @jayz:

Heard Hilton Tokyo Bay is far from everything. Is that true?

        • @nightelves:

Correct. I wouldn't stay here unless you're doing Disney.
Location wise Conrad or Hilton Tokyo (Shinjuku) are equal. Hilton Odaiba is also probably on par with the first two if you want to save a bit of money, but also depends on what you want to do in Tokyo. Hilton Tokyo bay is in an awful location, assuming it's for sightseeing/vacation.

        • @jayz:

Planning to go to Disneyland on the last day of our Japan trip and then making our way to Narita airport in the evening. Would the Tokyo bay hotel be suitable then, for staying the night before?

        • @jayz:

I want to be close to where the Cherry Blossom is going to be as well as Shinjuku. Do you mind if you could PM me some places to go and eat. Would definitely help me with building an itinerary leading up to April next year.

        • @Sparky:

If you're doing Disney during the day then to the airport in the evening, Tokyo Bay is the easiest by far. I think there is a NRT Limobus that departs from the hotel or very very close to it as well.
I believe Hilton Odaiba has free shuttles to Disney as well.

    • Its a nice hotel… recommend taking the bus limosine directly to hotel .. saves u transferring on the trains and subway which is a hassle if u got heavy luggage.

      • Agreed that's a good option. We used the service from Hilton Tokyo to Narita Airport. The only downside is that we were the first stop of the service so we had to go through probably 5 or 6 more stops to pick up more passengers before going to the airport. Still beats having to take 3 trains

        • Was thinking of using the shuttle bus and catching the nex to narita airport

          Good idea or no?

        • +1

@b00gie: the limosine costs around 40 bucks or so return .. direct from your hotel … no carrying around luggage… only bad thing is that it prob takes a bit more time but at least u can just sit and relax, but the return ticket at the airport and the hotel will arrange your return time. if u dont have so much luggage, then you can take the train which might save u like 30 mins… id rather just relax.

    • I took the same offer last time. The room was huge and the entire experience was an absolute pleasure. I thought the breakfasts were excellent and it was great to have real coffee's made by the barista. At the right price, I am more than willing to be in Nishi-Shinjuku and train hop a little.

    Enjoy a free nuke

  • Essential to sign up for Hilton Honours to get this discount?

  • -1

If the price is comparable to Airbnb, or even slightly higher would be good, I don't know how much it can cost, but if it is about $200 a night for two, it would be a bargain.

  • -2

    This deal is the bomb!

  • +1

Any hint at what a room in Tokyo may cost for an example please? Is it cheap?

    • +1

Hilton is around $500, Conrad around $750 per night for base rooms. Obviously changes depending on demand.

  • any hilton gift card available for purchases? lol!

  • +1

    For Japan:

*21% service charge per room per night between December until March covers charges of local, toll-free and credit card calls (no access fee), WiFi access in guest room and public spaces, manned Ski Valet service, car parking, access to 24-hour fitness center and Hot spring, Kids room, and "Upper Village Gondola" and "Village Express", and shuttle bus service for local area. Sapporo/Shin Chitose Airport shuttle service is available (chargeable)

    So basically it's a 29% discount not 50%

Good deal for other countries though :)

    • Not if you book Japan between September-December though right?

    • @ozisaver
that is just for Niseko Village (ski resort), not the other hotels in Japan.

  • +1

Is Shinjuku a good area in Tokyo to stay for a few days for a first time visitor?

    • Yes

  • The T&Cs say 14:00 JST start which is 15:00 AEST however it's 08:00 now and timer goes for 18hrs which is 02:00 tomorrow morning.

    • Shows 4 hours and 24 mins at the time of me writing this (14:00 AEST).

  • website is down. cant bloody click anything

    • glad to know it's not only me..

    • Yes very slow. Got through to a hotel's page but no discount compared to this morning.

      • The sale only started 9 minutes ago.

  • Thanks guys! $100 a night at Hilton LMAO

    • Which Hilton?

  • No available dates for the hotels I looked at: Hilton Hua Hin and Conrad Koh Samui. It doesn't look like they got booked out, but that the sale fares were never made available for these hotels.

  • Wanted to neg the deal as there were cheaper options for certain rooms but couldn't revoke the initial positive from yesterday.

Be very very careful when booking.

21% tax rates + horrible booking system = not all that different from regular prices.

  • Got 50% off in Seoul. Checked prices before as well.
Site worked well after 15:00 and booking was easy.

    • Which website do you go for the seoul hotels?

  • Hate to spoil all the chat that this is just for countries likely to be targets if Kim loses it… but the deal also applies to Hilton's South East Asian properties. I just booked a half price week in Phuket

  • Hilton Conrad in Bali is included too and it is fantastic

  • I hope this is not too late but do you know I can read the website…easily? Cheers
