Pura Milk 1L $0.99 + More @ Tribe of Judah [Slacks Creek QLD]

70

Hi All,

There is an increased cost of living which affects loads of families around Australia. This post is to provide details of cheap grocery shops /community services shops.
I have found one which I used for a couple of weeks:

Tribe of Judah, 101 Park Rd, Slacks Creek QLD 4127

It is open to all public, and grocery bills are almost halved on some weeks while comparing the same costs with Coles / Aldi Woolworths.

Personally, I feel we should support such shops rather than bigger businesses like Coles, Woolworths.

Depending on their specials every week you can get some good deals.
I brought the following past week:
Pauls Milk 1L - $0.99
Pauls Milk 500ml x 5 - $1
Tamoto Passata Cooking Sauce 700ml - $1.46
Dairylea Cheese pods x 5 - $0.99
Brown Onion 1kg: $1.98
Veggies - between $1 & $2
Tomatos 1kg - $0.96
Chips: $1.89

There were more items and basically shopping trolley full - total $27.57

If all can put details of similar shops across Australia, it will help others in need as well as help the business.

These prices (excluding fruit/veg) are below what they could buy them from the supplier for.

Are these soon to be outdated or clearance items? like catch of the day, reject shop etc?

I haven't checked on all items, I brought them on 1st September.
1L Paul Milk had expiry of 9th September
500ml Paul Milk expiry was 3rd of September.
some items like chips had best before dates of early September, some were expired.

I think you will not find an extensive list of items as Coles or Woolworths, it is helpful to people who are in need.

      • Ah ok so this shop is basically Reject Shop, Catch of the day etc.

Which is fine, it just helps to clarify for people.

        • I find a lot of these stores stock items from Golden Circle Factory Outlet.

We find "T-Bones Fresh Food Market" in Aspley, QLD has really good prices on fruits, veggies & some grocery items.

    • I agree 100%. However, the quality of the veggies sometimes is not the best. Still, it's a good option for people that leave nearby.

    • Really liked t bones when I lived on the north side. That place used to be Big Gun.. now I shop at the original Big Gun at Underwood or Bella's at eight mile plains. They are both really good.

  • Your doing your shopping at a charity type help the poor style shop by the sounds of it,if your in the bones of your arse then that's great more power to you. If your being cheap and could afford to buy regular shops then it's on your soul.

Anywho should be a forum post not a deal imo, but thanks op for trying to help people :) there are way to many in a bad way these days, I personally am not so I usually donate to the local food cupboard.

      Nope that isn't correct.

This is basically The Reject Shop, Catch of the Day etc.

If anything they could use the profits from sales from regular customers to help the poor.

They are profiting from your sales.

You can get a special discount for being homeless etc from the looks though, even then they probably just profit less or sell it for cost price.

      • Oh ok, that's cool then! :)

For Northside of Brisbane we have T-Bones Aspley and Fruit Barn Rothwell.

    • I still prefer T-Bones over Fruit Barn. I think the prices and variety are better.
