  • Answer is probably already online but do I need to buy anything else for this to work?

    • +1

I think the only other thing you need is the Mi Home app to control it :)

    • +1

      Nope :)

      • Awesome, thanks guys!

    • +8

You might need to buy a socket converter if you have B22 sockets in your house, like I do.

They're $1 here, but you might as well just buy one at Bunnings, should cost almost the same, maybe a dollar or two more.

  • +2

still waiting on another couple from previous deals, but whats one more ;)

  • Any way to get these with a bayonet cap fitting?

  • +1

Anyone know if these fit in a ceiling fan after using an adaptor like the one from IKEA?

    • +1

The globes are significantly longer than a regular incandescent to start with, so I doubt that they'll fit with an adapter (I haven't tried, mainly because it looks like it won't from the floor and I've been concerned about whether they are bright enough to be the main bulb in a room). That said, every fan is different and yours may have more room in the light fitting.

    • These globes heat up after being on for a while, and the heatsink is in the base of the device, so leaving them fully covered can decrease the life of the LEDs, according to Xiaomi.

  • Cannot apply the coupon. this coupon cannot be used on wholesale orders :(

    • Did you try to buy several? Maybe it is limited to one per customer.

      • Yeah it's limited to one per customer. Annoying as I would like a couple…

  • +1

Worked fine for me but only seems to work for 1 bulb. Anything more and you get an error.

  • +3

I feel like I need these, but I can't really figure out an actual use case. What do you guys use them for exactly? There's probably lots of clever things that can be done.

    • +9

      for lighting a room

    • Guess you don't need to set an old fashion dial timer with these for one idea, as it's controlled through the app so no more clunky space hoggers sticking out of a power board or point.

    • good for setting a timer everyday for it to turn on and off, so if you're late coming home at least your house isnt pitch black.

    • In midnight, I have it automatically change to have a red hue, just like blue light filters on phones and laptops :P

Also helps when you're too lazy to get up to turn the light off/on #firstworldproblems

    • -1

I've got mine set to come on like a sunrise every morning, gradually getting brighter over about 10 minutes. I wish it was a bit dimmer on its lowest setting, but I'm not overly fussed

    • I own two, have them turn on automatically when I get home past 6pm, off when I leave, otherwise they're just really nice to be able to control how much blue you want in your white lights.
They're also lovely for ambient lighting and soft coloured lighting for photography. 600 lumens each = enough to just light a bedroom dimly. Best for desk lamps.

  • Is anyone able to confirm these definitely work with Google Home now?

    • +1

Yes, but server location needs to be set to Singapore!

      • Is that just for the colour or the white ones too?

        • White should be the same I guess. Can't see why it would be any different as they both can be controlled via Mi Home App. You can set a scene as well, eg: multiple lights in a room to be switched on, specific rooms etc.

        • @whypaymo: mi app can't find the non colour light even after I reset manually. When tried to add device, on the list I only see the colour light and won't connect

        • @dragonindespair: Other devices on the networking working fine? Are you on 2.4 or 5Ghz network?

        • @whypaymo: other devices as of xiaomi devices? i dont have others. i'll check my modem setting for the Hz later. will follow other suggestions below

      • Cheers :)

      • I'm having no luck with this :(

After I log into my xiaomi account, Google Home never connects to my light bulb. I always get an error.

  • how bright are these globes? are they pretty bright to use it as a main globe in the room or more like a lamp globe?

  • +3

Finally a coupon code does not expire in 10 mins.

  • I have the original not colour ones, it's works with the xiaomi yeelight app but I can't work it with google assistant. Tried ifttt no luck. Help?

    • You will need to set the server locale in Yeelight app to Singapore, if you haven't already.

      • If I set to Singapore, I can't find the light via mi home app. Also tried USA server. Only with China mainland I am able to connect and control it (mi home and yeelight app)

        • +1

I haven't tried MI home app but I remember on the Yeelight app after I changed the server to Singapore I had to reset the bulb (switch off/on 5 times) for it to get detected. Also unlink your Yeelight account from Google Assistant and add it back after the switching to Singapore. Hope this helps!

        • @4han: hmm the only thing i havent try is that unlink yeelight account from GA. will try later.
alright so just straight using yeelight app not mi home, interesting havent try this as well.

        • @dragonindespair: got it working! Thanks.

  • difference vs LIFX?

    • Cheaper

    • +2

I have both, LIFX is brighter (1000+ lumens) and they come with bayonet or edison screw cap. But they cost more. If you're ok with less lumens and using edison screw, then this is a very good deal, specially when integrated with other xiaomi sensors.

      • does the xiaomi retain it's previous setting when turned off at the switch?

        • There's a setting in the yeelight app that lets you do this.

  • +5

Will keep ordering 1 until my whole house is upgraded!

    • +1

      doing the same mate :)

  • any idea if this has the capability to go darker than the phillips xiaomi bulb? I find the 1% brightness of the phillips/xiaomi bulkb to be too bright for watching movies

    • Have you tried changing the colour? I haven't tried the new ones, but subjectively, these go darker in the reds and blues than in the white ranges. I use pink tinges as a night light mode.

  • To pay the lowest price, on the banggood payment page change the default Australian $ to US $.Then untick Paypal to do the currency conversion and pay through the 28 degrees card in $US. Unlike most Australian banks, 28 degrees has no currency conversion costs. The rate you receive is similar to XE.

    • +1

The price in the title is inclusive of all your steps :)

    • PayPal is resetting this EVERY transaction now, can they stop please?

  • +1

I was looking at some LIFX globes as they seem to have some pretty good features and integration into Google Home and such. Do these have music visualisation and similar integration?

    • +1

      Ordered one anyway, pretty cheap

  • Guys I'm looking to buy one of these to use while I'm overseas on holidays.

Is there a way I can set a timer on these to come on at night and turn off at sunrise? Do I need to login to the app from overseas to control it? I dunno how it all works. Someone enlighten please, thanks!

  • I am not registered to Banggood yet and couldn't find shipping cost to Aus. Can someone who has bought supply shipping cost, please?

    • Shipping cost is free for unregistered air mail, which is what this price includes.

  • How is this compared to tplink led wifi ?

  • Man cost $16.55 through PayPal! Is there any way to bring down the price without the 28degreee card?

    • If you choose to pay in USD and use your card provider conversion that isn't free then it should come out at around $15.35 depending on the provider, don't let paypal do conversion for you.

  • It is telling me the code can only be used 1000 times :(

    • Yep looks like it's over unfortunately, I'll expire the post.

  • Getting following message: This coupon can only be used 1000 times.

  • -1

Managed to get one before it expired. Thanks OP.

  • Error
This coupon can only be used 1000 times.

    • Already expired as the title (updated) indicates.

  • +1

This deal is back again with a new coupon code: MIL289

    • Using the new code I'm getting it coming up as US$17.89 at checkout (down from US$29.77 a difference of US$-11.88). Has the code mixed up the discount amount with the discounted price?

      • +1

I don't think so? It still works perfectly for me.

        • +1

Thanks man, I tried again this morning and it worked fine, must have been the 2am crazies!

  • What's the differences between this and the only white bulb? Why we need coloured light?

  • Because you might want mood lighting to create ambience! If you want white only, just get the Philips globes which are almost perpetually on sale at Woolworths.

  • Yay I got one. Now I just need something to plug it into…

  • +1

has anyone received their light yet? it's been 1 month now - not sure whether to contact them. mine was shipped on the 4/9

    • Haven't received it yet. I did receive my adapter, but nothing else.

    • I'm still waiting too, apparently been in Australia for the last week so u sure as to what's happening

      • Also still waiting . Tracking says 2017-09-10 Hongkong In Transit to Destination

    • +1

Got mine yesterday. The light is pretty cool and you can attach it to your Google Assistant to turn it on/off, dim/brighten and change colours through voice.

      • What does ur tracking show? Mines been in Australia for almost 2 weeks now yet not delivered

        • I didn't have tracking.

  • Mine arrived today . Definitely wasn't quick .
