These don't have 120hz screen do they?

    • no, thats the 2017 Pros

    • Only ipad pro 2017 has that

  • ipad pro 9.7 2017?what is that?

  • I've got an MBP and MB Air, not keen to buy another Apple product, but still wonder what are people usually doing with this product?

    • A screen that is not as big as Mac Air and small as iPhone to browse internet??? lol

@Easygoingjoe: ugh. Thanks for letting me know.

  • These 2017 iPad are what I called "the downgrade" one ay, where they are thicker than 61mm???

Yeah Apple have cut costs on this version. It's better in someways than the Air 2. Worse in other ways.

I've tried them in Officeworks where they are side by side with the Pro (as opposed to on separate desks in the Apple store).

I really couldn't fault the display or detect any issue from being non-laminated. Interestingly neither of them actually feel like pressing on glass, more like pushing on plastic as they flex a little. Hard to compare speed in store but they both seemed equally snappy on opening basic apps. Screen size difference is obvious but negligible, same for the clarity and brightness.

In summary I'd be quite happy with the base iPad, aka "value edition".

Pity I prefer the mini, which sadly still has an old processor.

  • Isn't the Myer deal on ebay cheaper than this?

Different product. Wi-Fi only (128GB) vs Cellular (32GB).

  • Thanks TA. Ordered 3.

  • Nice, but heavier than iPad Air 2 is an iCrime.

  • Obligatory I wish they had deals on the 12" Pro comment.

    What is ipad for

  • better with $35 per month on Optus with 10GB data and unlimited streaming of Stan, Netflix, ABCs, and music like iHeartRadio, Google Play Music

    • Good tip.

      • +1

it's better to go with 128GB for $70 per month with 100GB data, I cancelled one of Telstra's broadband for a house and got this deal with Optus last month, instead of paying Telstra for more data but no flexibility, now I can utilise unlimited streaming (to compensate data reduction) + flexibility for home and mobile broadband + iPad as a tablet for everything (work, entertainment, study, reading, etc) :)). Bloody oath good deal :). Also, this is what I did with one of my mobile phone, I signed with Optus for a $40 plan got an iPhone SE (pocket friendly) and data shared to get good use of 100GB (iPad) + 1GB (iPhone) = 110GB :)). I call it Lucifer Morningstar deal lol

The Telstra offer is cheaper except not available to everyone…

    • u have to be ripped with some sort of services with them thought to be targeted for a good deal like this, balanced out at the end :)

      • Nope - I managed to get one without the offer. I do have a plan with them which I also negotiated.

  • Ha … And here I was reading:
    "nice paint drops … "
I was about to ask about what do you use to get the paint drops off with.
    (One of those days)
