    1. cheap rates doesn't apply to most other asian countries (?)
    2. initial credit included only lasts for 14 days, top ups valid for 28 days.

  Now I understand the huge discounts coming through in prepaid and other call rates..

  its Google voice…

  other than a portability issue, the costs are cheap with GV…

  I can make local/national Oz calls for 2c a min and that lot better for quick vs even the normal local calls

  plus international calls are cheap, no connection fees, surcharge etc etc

  staright out cents/min trade.. only issue with GV is cost is all in US$, so need to convert to get true value

  Yeah if anyone can shed more light on this deal I'd be appreciative. I have an american flatmate who under my recommendation almost signed up with TPG yesterday, I'm just wondering would this ultimately be better value for him? He essentially wants to txt his mates back in the USA. So this VS the TPG mobile plans. Which should I recommend?

    on TPG CapSaver/Talk&Text Cap Plan, int. sms cost is $0.50

    On TPG PAYG plan sms cost is $0.20

    so for texting TPG cap plans come out quite cheap but the calling rate on virgin homemade SIM without flagfall is real winner if he calls several calls everyday. 10 minutes call will cost him only 50 cents. He wont be able to use TPG credit to call overseas.

  Wow! What a find! 5c calls overseas from a mobile? Am I dreaming? No, I'm not, still awake. Hope this is not a pricing error.
