Microsoft Office 365 Home 5 Users 12 Month Subscription $79 ($40 off RRP) @ Saveonit.com.au

230

My yearly subscription for Office 365 is expiring soon so I searched around again.

While this price appears to be SaveOnIt's normal price, it is $40 cheaper than the price from Microsoft and it is still the cheapest available price I can find.

From SaveOnIt

"Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium. For up to 5 Users with 1 year license. Download version, Only product key is emailed saving you the shipping. Now with Office 2016 applications included."

Price Comparison

Microsoft Store $119
JB Hi-Fi $118
Officeworks $96

Thank you! Didn't know there was the option to buy outside of the Microsoft Store and my subscription is up for renewal in a couple of days!

Normally these cd-keys are suitable for renew a subscription. I have 3 times in the past four years.

You're welcome. This is exactly my intention. If I can save someone some money then I've done my job.

      +Vote?

$79 seems to be the normal price from them. I bought my last subscription from them nearly a year ago and price hasn't moved. Better grab a renewal soon as well :)

Anyone wanting a full blown version might want to consider this:

MICROSOFT OFFICE 2016 PROFESSIONAL PLUS RETAIL PRODUCT LICENSE - FULL EDITION $USD 59.99 Single seat

Can confirm it's genuine and fully functional.

A jewellery store is an 'authorised' Microsoft reseller? Hmm.. righto.

      • back in the dark ages, one of the near by chemists also sold computers and computer games, so it not totally out of left field.

        • +1

True, but I highly doubt that is 'legit' at all. More just the same as the usual MSDN keys that can be picked up for a hell of a lot less than what they're selling it for. If you're going to do it that way, may as well just get the cheapest key you can get.

        • @Porthos: Instead of doubting why don't you actually do some research. I don't support shonky software licences, the businesses who sell them or the w@nkers who buy keys and/or take advantage of hacks etc for that matter. These same people would no doubt scream and shout if you broke into their homes and stole their possessions. Interesting psychology and ethical values they have.

      • You'd have done well to read the information on their website before displaying your total ignorance.

(Reply to Porthos' first comment above)

        • My ignorance? 😂😂😂

As douglasac showed, it's not hard at all to become a Microsoft Partner. As he also pointed out, it's not possible to buy what they're selling retail.

Think you're the one who needs to wake up and stop calling other people ignorant when it's clearly not legit.

    • Can buy the same thing on eBay for around $4

      • Show me where you can buy a legitimate digital licence from a MS partner for $4 on ebay.

There is no such thing as an Office Professional Plus Retail License.

The only Professional Plus licenses there are are Volume Licensing, MSDN and Subscription.

Additionally, I doubt the legitimacy of the site, as the address they list is for Shipito, a business they are clearly not.

Have a better look or better still send them an email and tell them they aren't MS acredited Partners and Resellers. MS Office Pro Plus is a retail product available on numerous websites. You can get the same deal offered by STDwellers in Australia for more - again from legitimate MS sellers, or you can pay an American company less.

I'm not saying that they are not a Microsoft Partner. In fact, they are a Microsoft Partner. I checked.

That said, it is not hard to be a Microsoft Partner. Go here. Click Partner Sign In. Fill in the form. Congratulations, you are now a Microsoft Partner.

Professional Plus is not a retail product. It never has been. Anyone selling it as such is not selling you a legitimate product! As said before, the only places you can get it, legitimately, are through Volume Licensing, MSDN or Office 365 as a subscription. I did neglect to mention the fourth path, which is the Home Use Program, available if your employer has that option through their Volume Licensing agreement.

I doubt it is. Some giveaways that they aren't:

          1. Their parent, JVM Tech, is an Indian SEO company.
          2. On a .com.au domain with no ABN or ACN on the website. You aren't meant to be able to register a .com.au domain without an ABN or ACN.
          3. The Australian address is for a virtual office.
          4. The New York Address is an apartment block.
          5. Their UK Head Office address appears to not only be a flat, but is a mail forwarding service, was used as the address in a scam, is home to no less than 884 companies and - this is my favourite part - was featured in the Panama Papers.

        • @douglasac10: Okay, you've convinced me, I apologise unreservedly. I checked back on my email from msofficeworks. Forgot that I did check their credentials and subsequently ignored their offer.

MS previously confirmed that stdwellers were resellers - BUT after following up today on their online chat I now wouldn't rely on them actually knowing. I had a 'yes', a 'looks legit', and a 'no', not one based on any solid evidence.

        • @douglasac10: Great work there douglasac!

  • How many other people have got 10 users as part of the Office 365 Premium subscription, instead of just 5?

    • Hi
How do you get 10 instead of 5.
      Thanks

      • This is what it looks like on the My Account page, from the stores.office.com website:

        Office 365 Home

        Install
        PC/Mac installs used: 10

Install Office on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones

        • Mine is like this

Install Office on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones.

        • @bnepal: but it should tell you how many installs you have used

I still have a year to go, will these keys be still valid for renewal, thanks

    • +1

Yes, it just adds 12 more months to the expiry date.
IIRC, someone here posted a while back that they added 3 years or so to their subscription

      • I mate of mine has said you can stack these up. Not sure for how long.

    • Just tried to price match, got a rejection because "they sell the product card version" not the "key only version". YMMV.

      • +1

Both companies sell the key only version.
I got key only price beat from Officeworks

HUP program & Live account = $15 or so, no need for yearly fee :)

    • did any live account work?

    • Comparing apples & oranges.

    • It's $16.50 now, but is an option if your employer participates.

      • +1

As Spackbace mentioned, you only need a @live.com.au account to get access to it (which is simple to make with an existing @hotmail.com or outlook.com account ;-)

        • Reason why it didn't work when I tried it: I was trying a live.com email. Derp.

Reading all the things worked, and isn't that a fun little loophole! ;D

  • so if my sister who loves somewhere else already has this and only has one pc can i use her subscription for normal office or will it put her name on all my accounts, sync outlook etc?

    • +3

but all jokes aside, no, each of the 5 is separate, my niece is using one of mine.

      • +2

        Thanks trantor

  • MSY normally have the five-pack at this price, and last time Domain price-matched me because MSY were out of stock.

The five-pack is handy if you have relatives who rely on you for tech support - you look after your subscription, and it handles theirs, too.

  • That's their NORMAL price.

Ordered mine on Sunday evening, had it by 9:30am on Monday which is pretty good I reckon. Completely legit key, registered fine.

    • My experience has been the opposite. Ordered Sunday evening using Paypal, payment went through fine. No e-mail confirmation received though. No contact from them by Monday afternoon so I e-mailed them using their [email protected] address. No response to that e-mail. Sent another today to [email protected] and again, nothing. No phone number on their website so no other means of contacting them.

      • +2

All sorted now. Apparently an issue with their email filtering.

  • +1

    Thanks for this.
Ordered last night and the key was delivered via email today.

    And it worked! :)

    • Awesome. Saving others time and money makes me happy.

  • It has gone up to $85, still seems the cheapest around..

    • Dammit they must have realised $79 was getting a lot of uptake.
