you forget to mentioned the magic word..

    band28

    • +2

It doesn't have band28 - in case anyone else was confused by this comment.

      • +1

yes i was just trying to say, has band 28 or not, better mentioned on the post.

Yep, it's the same. I've added in to post so that people can choose which seller they want to buy from, QD_AU or GB.

      • For approx $30 price difference, I would personally pick QD_AU over GB all day everyday

  • What version is it?

    China, Global or International?

    • +2

It's not known which but regardless of which phone you get, you should always flash the firmware to the latest version.

Here is the latest Global ROM MIUI 8.5 that packages Google Apps.
      http://en.miui.com/thread-736766-1-1.html

    • Gearbest is Global version - not sure about QD

  • Very long lasting battery. Huge Screen. Telephone Recording. Rest of them just so so…….

  • +1

got this phone a few month back. The only thing I'm not entirely happy about is camera shots quality, the rest is surprisingly good for that price.

    • Have the Max 1 since last yr, agree with you. Maybe I should jump to the Mi Mix 1 while the price is dropping after Mix 2 announced.

    • Use the google cam could improve.

  • Good price but GearBest and GeekBuying are also options have dropped to 310 AUD or so, when they have their flash sales (which is like every second week these days lollll)

I bought this phone in the early morning 10 days ago on shopmonk ($295) and have not received any shipping information from them yet, rather slow service. I received an email response from shopmonk and it says takes 5 days for dispatch and another 5 working days for delivery. Still waiting for shipping and tracking information. But maybe there are better suppliers for this phone.

    • +2

sounds like they don't have the stock on hand and are only ordering as customer orders come in. Thing is though, I suspect GearBest and DWI may be using the same tactic.

Hey Scrimshaw - found a working code for Gearbest
'MAXCJ' brings it down to $286.93
    ;)

    • Cheers. added

  • Hows the loud speaker on this phone when playing videos?

    • Not that really loud speaker. In a kitchen with 5-6 people you can still hear clearly. But once over that you will feel difficult.

      • What other phones do you have for loudness comparison? I have a iPhone6 and Sony Z2, Z2 very poor.

        • I think it's pretty loud. Louder than my Nexus 6.

It'll be way louder than the phones you have.

  • Mi Max 2 gold is $324 delivered in 3-5 working days from eglobaldigitalcameras
    and $334 for black version.

  • I wish the snapdragon 625 would go away. Completely mediocre and uninspiring chipset no matter how much ram/storage/other phone specs.

    • But this phone is very cool while running. Can't feel any hot.

    • I don't recall ever being inspired by a chipset. The 625 is plenty powerful enough for most people and most use cases.

      • As an electronics engineer I am often inspired by chipsets… I didn't say it wasn't adequate. That doesn't mean Qualcomm shouldn't try harder. Why settle for mediocrity!

        • Going by that argument, should Intel stop making i3 and i5 processors? Not everyone needs an i7-7700K computer. Some people only want to do light tasks like browsing the web, sending emails, maybe type a word doc or two.

For those people, an i3 or i5 would be more than adequate. No point paying more money for something that will sit unused.

  • Have the phone. It's excellent. Camera's okay, at least it's responsive. Battery's phenomenal. Performance is good.

There is however a bug. Video recording has highly distorted audio from noise cancellation. Recording audio through the audio recorder app (with the "music" setting turned on) is fine though. There is a fix floating around if you have root.

    • you can post that as a seperate deal if you want. This deal is old now and not getting much attention.

    • Wow got mine in 4 days including weekend so 2 business days.

  • Received my phone from Gearbest yesterday. Actual shipping was pretty quick -I ordered it on Thursday, Gearbest sent it on Saturday, and it arrived on Wednesday. I paid an extra $7 for DHL shipping.

It looks and feels quite a bit nicer than the original Mi Max.

  • How this phone camera and video quality compared not like iPhone 7 or Samsung S7Edge?

    Thanks
