Same deal as has occurred before (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/327285), but it's still great value. For comparison, you can get a similar version in Australia with less storage for $898 at Jb Hifi (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/acer/aceā€¦)

I saw this price a few days ago but they quickly ran out of stock. Been refreshing the page ever since to see if it'd come back up.

Amazon converter gives $671 AUD, but you can do better with some low fee credit cards.

Edit: Looks like stock has run out. Welp.
Edit2: Stock has reappeared. Whatever.

How long is delivery likely to be?

    Need a 2 in 1

Gave me an estimated arrival of Sep 29 - Oct 4. 15+ days.

I've been looking for a 2-in-1 and have seen nothing as cheap and powerful as this, most others are 1k+ for similar specs

    • Ordered from 2nd of September, estimated arrival around 21 but got to me today. Pretty happy with that

      • is Internal storage upgradable on this ?

        • Not sure. I won't try that for a year at least, just to keep the warranty intact.

I vaguely remember a comment saying that you could, but 256 is plenty enough.

  • OMG so tempting!! Almost want to pull the trigger and buy; would you choose this over a 13.3" FHD HP i5 128gb SSD 8gb ram for $700 - display unit at my local, but available immediately.

    • For 700 i'd probably take the local as long as it's not scratched up. I don't like to wait and you've got less hassle in event of warranty.

      • Yeah it's looking like I would take the HP as well, just my current HP has had a few issues booting/rebooting…

Only a few months old but my mate has the same computer with none of the weirdness I'm having. Maybe it's time to ring up. Although that will leave me without a computer for weeks won't it :(

I have owned HP and Acer before, in fact, an Acer very similar to this one. Sort of a predecessor - worse screen and an HDD raather than an SSD - but I'd say it was the same shell and probably a lot of similar components. I beat that laptop up and it was still working great. Mine had an i7 in it and it had a tendency to get hot, very hot, under high load, melting the glue that attached the rubber feet. With an i5, and a newer processor at that, maybe that wouldn't be so bad, but it's an issue, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Other than that, I'd recommend Acer in general. My charger failed and I called them and mentioned it and they sent me a new one which arrived in like, 2 days.

  • Just to confirm, this is not compatible with an active stylus?

    • Correct.

Just for those who wonder, the newer version (2017) Acer Spin 5 has the following new stuff compared to this one:

    1. a finger print sensor located on the trackpad
    2. a newer chipset i5-8250U
    3. ligter weight by 100g, 1.5kg
    4. supports Acer Active Stylus, works with Windows Ink
    5. USB3.1 *2, USB type C *1, USB 2.0 *1

      1. There is also a version with: i7 8550U and 512GB SSD.

      2. Both versions will come with the pen in the box.

In stock on September 17, 2017.

    • Check again, it's working now?

  • does this qualify for Cash Rewards? i looked at the special terms/conditions and no mention of electronic products

  • ''International Shipping This item is not eligible for international shipping. Learn More''

2 does acer give international warranty on these? does anyone else? (eg via gearbest and china retailers?) or is it all grey?

  • Looks like it's out of stock on Amazon already :(

    • Yeah. Whenever they get stock it looks like it'll sit at the same price. Check back in like a compulsive pokie player and maybe you'll get lucky in a few days or weeks like I did
