AOC AGON AG271QX 27" LED Gaming Monitor 1MS QHD FreeSync 144hz TN $580 Delivered @ Futu Online eBay

160
PICNIC

Great bargain for a QHD 144hz monitor from a highly rated brand such as AOC. Alot of people on this website seem to really like AOC. I was looking for something to go along with my HD 7970 Card from the prehistoric era, but I'm not sure if my card will explode trying to push that many pixels out, anyways I'm too poor to buy this monitor but I hope you guys can enjoy it instead!

Its a TN panel.

  • freesync is the AMD (or non nvidia) one right? Any recommendations on a sub $400 card to match?

    • Yep Freesync is the non-tearing technology for AMD cards.

    • For video card, it depends what games you play. 1440p at 144hz is demanding. Perhaps the AMD equivalent of a GTX1060 or better.

    • An Rx580 from AMD is around $314 for the 4GB version

Dying to find a G-Sync equivalent that doesn't cost a kidney

    • +3

I can do without a kidney, but you can tear my smashed avo from my cold, dead, avocado-smeared hands.

  • The IPS gsync one is:$799.20

IPS & gsync is worth the extra $220?

    • only worth it if you have a good graphic cards such as 1070 , 1080, or 1080ti to support it for years to come

      • When is the next season of Seven deadly sins coming out?

        • +1

its already quite far in the manga, for animation, please check respective studio schedule

    • Yes, worth it. You will not want to use a non-adaptive refresh display after you own one.

    • IPS alone is worth that extra amount, especially with a 144hz panel like this one. You can count all the IPS 144hz panels available in the market with one hand.

      • Yeah, AOC seems to be more on the budget side (compared to Acer & Asus) while still have OK reviews.
Would they be the best for value?

        • I spent one day research monitors on Tuesday. Finally bought the AOC IPS Gsync one. Mine is dated 07/07/2017, super minimal back light glow. Couldn't be happier.

        • @ChubbyMastiff: Link please? Why didn't you go with Acer predator one?

        • @congngo: It's the one you linked above. They are all using the same panel, the Acer, ASUS and AOC ones. They all initially had problem with quality control but if you buy one from this year you're fine. I don't really care about the look of my monitor so I went with the cheapest one.

        • @ChubbyMastiff: This one is cheaper?
          Works out to be $719:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182721572199

        • @congngo: That one is not IPS.

        • @ChubbyMastiff: Thanks. Seems the seller has got an incorrect description.

  • I've seen many people with these type of brand monitors, are they reliable and how is the warranties on their units?

  • Is this good for editing?

    • +2

This is focused on gaming, not colour reproduction.

      • Thanks FabMan! Are you able to advise a good monitor at this price range for editing?

        • +2

I'm not up to date on this I'm afraid, Dell usually have a great selection of editing monitors that aren't too expensive, check out their website.

I do know of this one though: ASUS PB278QR - $629

Old panel but good, check out a review.

Just so you know, typically TN refresh faster (good for gaming) and IPS has better colour reproduction (good for editing). You of course have different quality monitors in each technology. So if you want editing, only go for IPS that has a good colour reproduction.

Quick look I saw this Dell 4K monitor, a Dell P2715Q on Kogan and it looks good for the price of $695 + delivery. Strangely, they have another listing for this monitor for $799. So the cheaper one might be a bargain?

          A review
          Dell's info

        • +1

Look for something that's IPS, not 144Hz, not G/FreeSync and has a 4K resolution (if you want 4K anyway).

        • @FabMan: Thanks Fabman!!! Bought it.

        • @hungrypopcorn: You are welcome, but which one, the ASUS or the Dell?

  • Anyone found a monitor with USB Type C Charing?

    • i don't think there is one just yet, except for apple products

      • Its for MacBook Pro
